MODELS OF CHARITABLE GIVING and ESTATE PLANNING DURING A TOUGH ECONOMY

Speaker: James E. Gillespie, CFRE, President & CEO CommonWealth
Jim Gillespie's national reputation in the fund-raising arena is well-established. �With over 25 years experience in the field, Jim's strengths lie in the design and implementation of planned giving, major gift and capital campaign programs, the development of charitable infrastructures, and training and mentoring administration, board members, staff and volunteers.

Before establishing CommonWealth in 1995, Jim served as chief operating officer of the Consulting Division of Renaissance, Inc. for six years and was a professional development officer for the previous 20 years.

Jim is a lead faculty member of The Fund Raising School, a unit of Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy. �He is the author of nationally published articles on various philanthropic subjects. �In addition, Jim has presented over 800 lectures, seminars and retreats on a variety of philanthropic topics to board members, administrative personnel, professional advisors, and prospective donors across the country.

Continuing Education Credits:

Three hours of Continuing Education Credits have been requested for approval for Accountants, Certified Financial Planners, and Attorneys (including 1 hour of Ethics).

Topics:
Personal Financial Capital and Social Capital, Charitable Wealth Planning, Bridging the Gap from Client Need to Philanthropic Opportunities, and Strategies and Gifting Techniques.
