But first, I would like to state clearly that, there will be 1 rock band finalist. However, the total number of bands performing is THREE.

Week 7 of Term 2, ONE More Week Left

Yes, It's the 4th of May today and CHMA 2010 is only 11 days away.

As usual, today's video would be the overall winner, Hoe Jun Wei, performing with flute on the CHMA 2008 stage.

Even though there were 3 days break, XJ and I were still working on the final night programme booklet and the promotional poster. With much help from our seniors, Ervin and Donovan, I think that both the booklet and the poster have wonderful designs. So make sure you check out the posters in the school the next few days and the booklet on the night of 15th.

Hidden in the Mac

It's actually hidden in the old Video Mac for quite a long time.

We've decided to release the official video of CHMA '08 Final Night. I will be uploading different performances every school day starting from today. They're partially edited, with two camera angles, so I apologise for the lack of close up shots. For those who have absolutely no idea about the school's annual music event, this is a great chance of viewing the past year's CHMA.

It was held on 19th July 2008, the year which the Sec4s were wearing red name tags. There were many items performed on the night, including 2 creative expression(1 dance item and 1 beatboxer), 3 solo and 3 group vocals, 4 rock bands, 1 instrumental band and 1 instrumentals.

Today, the first video uploaded is the performance by Brown Note, the instrumental band merit winner. They performed the song OK, by SHITDISCO.

TICKET SALES!

Hello people!
The tickets have already been printed and are already at the studio at the moment.
Tickets will go for $10 as normal.
You can get your tickets from the Catholic High School porch from tomorrow onwards.
A makeshift stall will be set up there everyday from 3pm to 5pm.
Alternatively, you can still reserve tickets by sending an email with your name, contact number, quantity of tickets you would like to reserve to chma2009@ymail.com.
To reiterate, CHMA is a concert open to public, so get all your friends down for the concert too!

If you would like to watch the proomotional video again, or you missed it this afternoon, it's already available on the facebook event page or the video link directly here.
Youtube link is also available but apparently they just like to disable the audio which contains copyrighted songs. Hence, Facebook is the only link to watch the video.

XJ and I have decided that the pre-order of the tickets will be made available to all with effect from now. As stated, you can approach any sec4 iMedia members to book your tickets. A message has been sent out to all guests on facebook. Now, you can book your tickets through the messaging system in facebook. Just type in your actual name (if you do not put the real one as profile name), your class (if you are still in CHS), your contact number and email, the number of tickets you need and send to me (Luk Jz on facebook or email to: chma2009@ymail.com).

Most probably the tickets will be available on next Tuesday. A booth will be set up at the front porch as it is more prominent.

Promotional Video and Photoshoot

Yes, if you were in the hall during today's weekly assembly or Friendship Week performance, you would have seen the promotional video.

Actually it has been leaked onto Facebook yesterday night. It's shorter than our traditional Promo videos due to the time constraint. It showcased every year of CHMA from 2004 to 2008.

Total Time Spent on The Video - More than 12 hours
The result - a video with a duration of 1 minute and 15 seconds

You may think that I am crazy but that's the life of a video editor. It is the production which I enjoy watching the most, after the SLB Investiture Video 2009.

Yesterday's Photoshoot was special. For the first time in my CHMA experience, the photos were shot outdoors. Places like the waterfall and the huge staircase leading to the hall have been the locations of the photoshoot. I haven't seen the actual photos taken but they would be fabulous as the camera used was a high-end DSLR.

After the video, it is time to brainstorm on the design of the programme booklet. Most probably it would not be in postcards form in order not to cause any chaos during the event itself (where the postcards were thrown all around in the hall).

Just a reminder,
The days left to the Finale is 31 days.

The details of the tickets will be posted up soon, both here and the facebook event page.
All I can say is the tickets are priced at $10 each, free seating, and it would be available on next week Monday. The SC president has allowed us to use the pool room to sell the tickets. Thus, instead of setting up tables at the front porch, you can most probably purchase the tickets in the pool room from next week onwards.
Any pre-orders of the tickets would be made available through any of the Sec4 iMedia members (there are only 4 anyway).

Your CHMA Digest Vol. 1

Hi Guys And Gals!

I'm back once again to bring you updates for CHMA... which is ONLY 36 DAYS Away... That also equates to 5 Weeks And 1 Day...
Fret Not! That's not too long a wait!

The tickets have been sent for printing and they would be on sale hopefully Next Week... If nothing goes wrong with the printing company... I'll keep my fingers crossed, and the probability of a disaster happening is also rather slim.

I shall update all our readers about the events pertaining to CHMA this week.

The Stage Design Team has started construction of the Stage Design and yes.... we "left our mark" somewhere unintentionally and we shall clean it up as soon as possible. ( For those readers who frequent the school's bookshop... You will See it on the ground for yourself. =D)

As for the Video Crew, the amount of footage collected was quite a chunk, and more than that... We shall be bringing to you a little surprise exclusive to our online readers and those members on the event page on Facebook. Join Our Facebook Event Page too! Click Here!

The Stage and Mixer Crew worked hard in the review on Tuesday... Setting up all the equipment in one of the most challenging venue for Reviews and Rehearsals----- The Auditorium. We practically had to disconnect everything from the mixer shift it out and reconnect again. Furthermore, we had to prepare this mountain of equipment for use.

But not to worry, I believe this hard work would be worth it eventually. It's all for Putting Up the Great Show Just For Everyone Watching.

The finalists effort and want to win in CHMA is rather evident... Despite their busy skills, it is very obvious that they have put in much effort for the review. Now and then when I meet them along the school corridor, they would express their concerns to me about performing at their best at the Final Night. However, I feel they would turn out great no matter what with all their efforts put in.

We had fun together, the finalists and the crew, throughout the review, both on stage and backstage. The vocalists sang with their hearts, and the band just made everyone high. Unfortunately, the Review 1 was for the Solo Vocalists and Band only, and thus I wouldn't be able to see for myself the show in stored for everyone in the other categories, the Creative Expressions and Instrumentals.

However, I do know that the Dancers in the Creative Expressions category have a little SURPRISE for the Audience. I shall not be revealing it. You have to see it for Yourself. =)

Photoshoot is Postoned

The photoshoot for the programme booklet is postponed to next Tuesday, 13th of April.

We've just had our first review this afternoon and the solo vocals part were quite amazing. I left before the bands started so I do not know about their performance.

Just a little peek for those wondering what we're up to.

The concept for the Stage Design is ready, and construction can start anytime... Trust me... It would be Awesome.

Our first review would be held this Tuesday 6th April in the Auditorium at 2.30pm... Anticipating for that Prelude to the Final Night.

And Yes, our Photoshoot for the Programme booklet would be on Wednesday, and it promises a fun time for everyone. (To the contestants: For those who have the misconception that the photoshoot would be boring... Believe me, you would have such a fun time, that your hours would past like minutes! Especially because they are photos of yourself =D)
