In addition to modern purpose built classrooms for current and future students, the new school will be a community space with a neighbourhood community center, new gym and other accessible areas.

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES – START DAY AND TIME

We will start the After School Activities on September 19, 2022.  Due to a temporary staff shortage issue, we will only have it once a week at your school.  We hope to offer the 2 days that were previously scheduled as soon as possible.

Day and School:

  1. Monday – Pineridge
  2. Tuesday – Lax Kxeen
  3. Wednesday – Port Ed
  4. Thursday – Roosevelt
  5. Friday – Conrad

Time:

All schools except Port Ed:

  1. Grade 1-3 from 3 pm – 4:00 pm
  2. Grade 4-5 from 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm

Port Ed: 

  1. All grade from 2:45 pm – 4:00 pm

NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION, SEPT 30, 2022

In honor and respect for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, 2022, all SD 52 (Prince Rupert) Schools will be closed.  We know that our students and staff will join the community to use the day for reflection, learning and healing.  Understanding the history of Indian Residential Schools, and honoring the stories of survivors and recognizing the continued impacts will be integral pieces of this learning.

We encourage you to review the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Calls to Action to learn ways to respond both personally and as part of the community.
