According to the report, CMS professional project demand is showing extraordinary growth, most notably WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. In Q3 2010, Wordpress projects in the DoNanza Universe grew by 61%, with Joomla growing at 38% and Drupal at 26%.

In term of demand, WordPress is a clear winner, cementing its hold on the market with more than 6 times the amount of projects in comparison to Drupal. Joomla finds its position exactly in the middle in terms of number of projects. While the top CMS projects budgets goes to Drupal.

"Growth in freelance projects for certain technologies can tell us where the market is trending even before the finished projects impact market share" said Liran Kotzer, CEO of DoNanza.

More interesting market information could be noticed for different project types, since Wordpress is very easy to setup, most people start out with WordPress on their own then request customization or other dev work. Indeed, only 18% of the total WordPress projects are site building, compared to 31% of Drupal projects.

It has discovered few new things in web development and officially it is called Content Management Framework with two basic parts Content Management System (CMS) and Framework.

Generally, we face this problem when one of our potential client starts a new project. Which tool should we choose? CMS or Framework!!

If we choose a CMS then we can give a quick output, but there is a chance to be stuck if the client wants to move the site to a big portal later with new features where those are not supported by that CMS. Well! Lets forget CMS and start with a Framework, then we have to develop the site from very basic but we don’t have much time to spend because budget is low.

Since the initial release of ImpressCMS 1.2, PHP 5.3 support has steadily gained ground in hosting solutions. Based upon user feedback, the ImpressCMS team decided not to wait for the upcoming ImpressCMS 1.3 in order to support PHP 5.3 officially.

What's New in ImpressCMS 1.2.3 ?

 * The most important change is official PHP5.3 compliance for the core modules and libraries. Note that modules might need adaptations to work in PHP 5.3. That is beyond the control of the core team.
* Fixed: search pagination and page title
* Improved: session security for the installation proces
* Improved: migration of images in the imagemanager during an upgrade from ImpressCMS 1.1
* Improved: use of smarty variables
* Fixed : search functionality issues
* Security : possible SQL injection vulnerability

You can download the latest release from our file release system on SourceForge. The download packages allows you to either do a fresh installation, or upgrade from an earlier version of ImpressCMS or XOOPS.

The Annual SHPE National Conference (http://conference.shpe.org) is one of the largest gatherings of its kind, bringing together more than 5,000 Hispanic students and educators, as well as more than 300 corporate, industry and government recruiters and sponsors. This year's convention will be the 33rd Annual SHPE National Conference, and it will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati Oct. 27-31, 2010.

"Our SHPE Conference Website receives thousands of visitors, and we wanted a CMS platform that would make it easy for us to create the content, but also to extend the functionality if needed. XOOPS has a very good reputation, receiving many awards and recognitions, and so far it has been the right choice for us. Their developers are very helpful, and we're very pleased with the performance and functionality" - said Frank Barragan, IT Manager for SHPE. "As a non-profit organization, we are interested in using Open Source software where we can, as it allows us to save money and keep our operating cost down, and XOOPS did it for us", added Mr. Barragan.

Among a new module for surveys, the new version has received an extension manager. Therewith, extensions can be installed and un-installed quickly and easily with just 2 clicks. The download of the packages and the configuration of the database is done automatically. To get the packages, the world wide download mirror system of SourceForge.net is used.

In addition, usability was improved by enabling appointments to be created with relative date specifications like "next Friday 13:00". Using the "Quick add" function, appointments can be created with a one liner like "Meeting, 10:00 am, 11:00 am". Also the layout was adapted for the iPad and its touch control.

For four days (August 15 - 18), the attendees (including several remote participants) discussed, planned, and coded many features and enhancements planned for Tiki 6.

The TikiFest ended with a wine-and-cheese social at the Code Factory in Ottawa, hosted by Citadel Rock, Blindside Networks, Pondstone Communications, and AvanTech.net, all of whom are active participants in the Tiki and BigBlueButton communities.

The cornerstone of the TikiFest was to improve the integration between Tiki and BigBlueButton that was first introduced in Tiki 5. Additionally, a full day of the event was reserved for various internationalization (i18n) topics, including:

* Establishing a collaborative multilingual glossary
* Creating a translation server
* Making it easier for the Tiki Community to contribute translations
