A friend from work was just telling me how much her daughter enjoyed the "Tree" at Great Northern Mall. What a great meeting place for kids and parents alike. I heard about it first on your blog!

I love these ideas and will be sure to use them when babysitting my Grandkids. I'd love to know of more free or nearly-free indoor activities for young ones! Only eight weeks 'till spring, but I want to keep busy until the weather gets warmer again. Anyone know of a Greenhouse that's kid-friendly???

Looks like a great time for families! Great winter fun. Syracuse can be more fun than some might think, wouldn't you agree?

I have to agree! The Mission and Alto Cinco are my favorite spots for Mexican. And, The Mission restaurant is also located in a very interesting building. Not only for its obvious adapted reuse of a church, but also the building's connection to the underground railroad. If you stop by the OHA museum around the corner at 321 Montgomery, there is a fantastic exhibit on the rich history of the underground railroad in Syracuse/CNY, and prominently displayed are faces that were carved into the basement walls of the church by runaway slaves (so the story goes). Great food and great history!

Our kids always looked forward to Breakfast With Santa at the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville. Our daughter was sure that Santa was directly from the North Pole because his license plate said "SANTA" on it...very credible! What a wonderful time of year in CNY!

Syracuse is a very easy place to live. Something that's easier to appreciate after a certain age.
