Innomatic is a mature and easy-to-use distributed container for PHP 5 Web applications. It is particularly oriented towards business and administrative applications such as CRM, CMS, Web-based frontends for legacy applications, and so on. It can contain multiple applications and customers or sites. It introduces a new way to distribute and manage Web applications through AppCentral.

Main high-level features and benefits :

Container of multiple applications and customers/sites: a single installation of Innomatic is able to contain and manage multiple shared PHP applications and separately enable them to multiple customers/sites.

Specialized for administrative applications: Innomatic provides a ready environment (both for users and developers) with a MVC based Web Desktop user interface, especially suitable for administrative Web applications such as CRM, CMS, Document Management, e-Business, custom and similar applications. Anyway, you can also build normal Web applications with the frameworks provided by Innomatic (or by Innomatic based applications) for this purpose.

Introduces a new way to distribute and manage Web applications: applications can be fetched and bought manually or from AppCentral, a central repository of Innomatic based applications. Thanks to the strong modular architecture of Innomatic, applications can be installed and upgraded with no effort, allowing very fast deployment and management of Web based solutions. Developers and software houses can sell their Innomatic applications through AppCentral.

You can check demo online, tons of features available and the interface is very intuitive to manage projects, opportunitites, contracts, to organize your calendar, contacts, activities, notes... etc. Innomatic is available under a BSD Revised license.
If you are looking for an easy to use solution including CRM, customer care, and billing; you should definitely try out CitrusDB. CitrusDB is a Web based customer care and billing solution that uses PHP and a database backend to keep track of customer information, operational CRM, services, products, billing invoices and credit cards, and support information. I find it very suitable for small and medium companies.

CitrusDB require PHP 5.0.4 or greater with register_globals turned off in your php.ini, any database supported by ADOdb (MySQL, Oracle, MsSQL, ODBC...). I did not tested security of the application, but there are some recommendation in the website to keep your server secure : in a private LAN with firewall, SSL protected web server with access limited to trusted IP addresses, or A Virtual Private Network or Intranet.

Cost in my opinion is one of the important keys of success for a CRM implementation, that's why AIMpromote is very well placed as alternative to very expensive solutions and offer an excellent quality/cost rate.

If the name doesn't sound very familiar for you, AIMpromote count many satisfied customers. Especially with the version 5, which recently released, and which count lots of great features such lead reselling and affiliate management, in addition to many others.

You can hear from Mike Betzer, Vice President Product Management Oracle, and Liz Herbert, Senior Analyst Forrester Research, in addition to live Oracle customers. Some vendors preach the software model du jour as the only surefire path to CRM success before understanding your business requirements.

In many cases organizations have different needs within their enterprise and choosing only one CRM application, without the flexibility to adjust to organizational differences, diminishes the success of both the organization and the customers they serve.

In this webcast you will learn :

Why there is no single right choice for a CRM application for every user in an organization

Why CRM is most successful when organizations choose the right solution for the right situation

How to match your business needs to the best CRM solution, on demand, on premise, industry specific, and more

When and how to consider future needs, expanding to different divisions, integration with the back office and more

How to address your diverse requirements without creating an IT integration headache

Etelos is a very original concept to implement a customizable CRM solution based on Google Personalized home page. CRMForGoogle is a feature-rich Customer Relationship Management Application that gives any business the ability to automate and manage customer follow up. All of these features are available in the free Personal Edition, with additional features, functionality and accounts available to Professional and Enterprise customers. Features included :

Customizable modules

Contact management

Content management

There is even Professional or Enterprise editions where users are able to to share tasks and contacts, customize the client database and even incorporate a public blog or Web site. Enterprise customers will have the ability to select their own hosting environment, creating an Application that truly fits your business. Pretty original concept, but I'm not sure if Google personalized home page allow such commercial usage or no ?!

A common technique is to conduct general user training in sections by department, and to take each department live after they have been trained. If you adopt this approach, be sure to allow enough time after each department is trained for them to come to grips with the system and get any questions they have answered by support staff, before the next group goes through and the support staff is overwhelmed.

This article has been extracted from the book, "Implementing SugarCRM". A step-by-step guide to using this powerful Open Source application in your business.

CRM training has two goals and making the users familiar with the system and teaching them how to use it is only one of them. The other goal is to generate positive momentum for the implementation, and enthusiasm in the user base. To accomplish this latter goal, you need to make sure people like what they see—especially the general sales staff, and to some degree the general administrative staff—as these are the two most likely sources of resistance and negative reactions.

Therefore your approach should be as follows:

Whitehead

This article deals with the key issues of setting goals and requirements, involving all areas of the business throughout the entire process, managing the development of any customizations, and then system training and rollout—making sure it becomes a welcome part of the new office routine. This article has been extracted from the book, "Implementing SugarCRM". A step-by-step guide to using this powerful Open Source application in your business.

System Development

The typical CRM development process, even within a single phase of an overall CRM implementation program for your business, is broken down into a number of major areas—such as enhancements to be made to the accounts model, to contacts, to projects, and so on, as well as the custom reports and charts you may need.

While some of these alterations may interact with each other, many of them will not, and clusters of functionality can typically be identified that are fairly independent of each other.

Usually the best practice is to have a SugarCRM development partner develop these off site, and then introduce each new function-cluster to you for evaluation one at a time (typically through a development website that is exposed just to you). Unless you have spent the time and money to develop a remarkably detailed specification, there will always be issues such as "I thought that control would be a dropdown, not a radio button", or "I wanted the tab order to go like this …", or "When you select a value in that field—this other field is meant to be pre-populated."
