Their most recent mistake, miscalculation, caused a massive rift between me and my ex as she thought I arranged payments to her to be reduced, when in fact, they were adjusting the amount due to an error on their side. Not only did they not inform me but left my kids without as they didn’t pass on my full payment.

The situation has now progressed from them taking too much money to me owing them money! What a shocker, I can only compare them to the debt collectors you hear about that use any means necessary, legal or not, to con people out of their hard earned cash.

Now I’m not about to condone dodging paying for your kids, you make your choices and pay for them, but it seems that the CSA have their own agenda that does not include the welfare of the children affected let alone the ‘absent parent’ (another politically incorrect name I’ve been described as by the CSA).

Prior to 2006 my ex was claiming benefits (fraudulently) as a single parent to fund her “weekends” although the children still lived with me full time in the family home, so there was a legal requirement for her to open a CSA case when we actually separated. In court after much persuasion we finally agreed equal joint residence so no maintenance payments were required from either of us, the judge approved the agreement in an order. Under current legislation neither parent could go to the CSA until the order was one year old. Due to her claiming benefits the CSA did get involved right away !! I informed the CSA that there was an agreed court order as to residence, I held the child benefit and a further court order after my ex unsuccessfully tried to seize the child benefit stated that the children would reside with me for greater than 182 days. She also didn’t have the children stay overnight over school holidays so her overnights were around 120 a year. The CSA ruled she was entitled to child maintenance reduced by 3/7, i.e. to 57% of the total because they didn’t believe an agreement was in place despite sending copies of the child benefit award and court orders. She currently wants more money,refusing to allow the children any contact by resorting to domestic violence..courts refusing to enforce contempt of court due to implacable hostility being upsetting to the children. The CSA now persuing me for payments / arrears despite paying out whilst actually legally being the Parent with care under their own rules.

I have been forced over the years by DOE to pay thousands to her that she wasn’t entitled to, and the requirement to pay should have been on her. This would have discouraged her to stop preventing the children from enjoying a life with their father in order to claim maximum money from the CSA.

I want the CSA to finally own up to their error and put things right. Is there an effective way to do this.

The case was closed by them in 2004 but their seems to be 2 liaiblity orders that I knew nothing of until January 2013 and here we are in March 2013 and I,m about to loss my home.
If the CSA and the legal boys can do this to a man that cannot work/walk and is nearly on pension.

I,m not to sure if I want to live in this country anymore. By the way my kids or 25 and married and 29 and single. Lets hope my 29 year old son learns a very good lesson from all of this and stays away from any women. Maybe get a bigger train layout to play with.

I agree with the CSA as to non paying fathers, but if you have a history of paying and a house it is never ending. 21 years of trying to be a father whose partner took the kids without warning to start another relatoinship in another town, not a problem now, but it would have been nice to have been told at the time. At 64 with 21 years in and still paying figures that the CSA have made up, after 9 years of no contact. Got to be some sort of record.

To all the women out their: it takes 2 to tango: and it,s no wonder that young girls can’t find any young men that want to get that involved up until the baby game starts.
One thing I have notice is: how come 13 year old girls look like 18 year old bimbos and 13 year old boys look like 13 year old boys.

I find myself looking at endless cases on the internet of sad stories, not many have anything to do with the damage any of this does to the kids involved. Maybe we all need to grow up abit to find their is abit more to life than babies and money.

Best of luck to all you real dads, but you won’t win the CSA until you die. That’s your only option.

I called the agency early January after 4Th January 2013 and was informed that the matter had been dealt with and I would receive a letter in the mail. I received a call on the 9th of January 2013 where by a male asked me if my son’s dad was taking him on a Thursday night. I said that yes this was the case and it was only happening while his partner was on maternity leave. So far it had only happened the last two weeks and I didn’t know how long she planned to take off. I was then asked if it was a temporary arrangement to which I said yes but I didn’t know how long it was going to last.

I then called the agency a few days later, as I had not received the letter I was told was on its way. I was told it could take up to two weeks for the letter to reach me and I should wait and call back.

I then called after the two weeks and was informed by the person who answered the phone that they could not help me and my case worker would call me back. I received no call. I then called back on 31st January 2013 and was informed that the case had been escalated and I would receive a mandatory call back within 24 hours. NO CALL after 142 hours!!!!!! I called again on 6th February 2013 and I was passed to a manager who told me that due to the conversation on the 9th of January 2013, the case was held back. I asked what this was due to and I was informed that I had told the operator on the 9th of January that my son’s dad had only taken him during paternity leave on a Thursday for two weeks. I was shocked to say the least because this certainly was not the conversation I had. I asked for the recording of this conversation listened to. I have never been informed what the outcome was. I was then informed that I would receive a call Thursday 7th February 2013, to basically tell me that the case had been escalated. This is obviously a new BUZZ word. I asked what time scales the agency now had to deal with the case as it had been escalated. To my horror I was informed a further 84 days. Are you kidding me? Escalation clearly means nothing considering the normal time scale is 3 months 90 to 93 days.

This is not the first time I had issues with the agency. Last August 2011 my son’s father changed jobs and it took the agency nearly 9 months to deal with the matter. This is beyond unacceptable. It’s an absolute disgrace. My son has done without all through the Christmas period and is still suffering. His dad has made no attempt to make voluntary payments and will be quite happy to be free from paying maintenance for months and re pay his arrears in little amounts over the coming year.

On the 7 March 2013 (6 months after the change of circumstances had been made by my son’s father) I received a call from Sophie from the complaints department and I was told the assessment had been completed and I received copies in the post. I was also informed that my son’s father’s employer had until the 16th April 2013 to implement the deduction of earnings order. She also informed me that the complaint would be closed and could be re opened within 6 months if there were any further problems. At this stage I was relieved that the whole mess was coming to a close.

I waited until the 8th May 2013 (two months after the last call), still no payment received. I called CSA and spoke with Imran who was extremely unhelpful telling me the matter was still being assessed, what???????????? I got extremely irritated as no two people seem to sing from the same hymn sheet in that place. Imran then informed me that there were no such time scales that have to be met by employers to implement the deduction of earnings order. Yet another contradiction of what Sophie had advised me. I then spoke to his manager as I was getting nowhere with him. She was very helpful and contacted the complaints department and a lady by the name of Shovana (who was dealing with the deduction of earnings form) and then called my son’s father’s employer who told her that he no longer worked for them. The manager also advised me that according to the complaints department it was my son’s father who raised the initial complaint not me. What is going on here? The staff in this organisation seem to be unable to read the correct information from as screen, deal with changes within the delegated time scale (3 months) and cause more problems with the errors they make constantly. This situation is a disgrace.

I have since been advised by my son’s father that he called to inform CSA that he no longer worked for an employment agency to work in BT, he is now employed by BT directly.

I was also advised on the 8th May that I would receive a call back within 5 days. This is now the 14th of May. It’s just disgusting the constant lies I’m being told to get me off the phone.
Why cant the CSA do as they are paid to do and why cant they make my son’s father make some kind of payment until this is sorted. I fear that another calcualation will be required as his earnings will have changed.

In my eyes another tact to firstly protect their incompitance, treatment and discrimination of NRP’s and to ensure that they receive the absolutely unfounded and mysterious calculation system payments!

The ex is bitter and snakey. He gets access to his son and has done from the beginning. What gets me is I have had to run myself into the ground to provide for my family. While for the last 2 years this guy has gotten away with paying nothing. Working cash in hand , refurbishing his flat, learning to drive and buy a car, cuban holidays and so on.Has he paid for his son? No!?!?

Weekly access on days and times that suit him. In the beginning the guy was offered to partake in a mutual agreement… A measly £20 a week. To which he disagreed. Now he’s nearly 4k in debt with the csa due to non payment. The csa are brutal and lazy at times but hell? No, people like my wife’s ex deserve to get dragged through the ringer, no viable and decent explanation for non payment. Even until last week he was asked why his reply was he sent all the documents we have to wait for them, my wife told him he was free to call and make a payment via card anytime and his reply was that he didn’t have too. Coward. Any man who walks away from his financial responsibility as a parent deserves nothing but grief.

All those who are trying like myself I applaud you, 2 kids and a house to support, not easy. Those genuinely in the wrong you’ve got my sympathy as its not all plain sailing.some people should hang their head in disgust… Don’t worry though real men and fathers like myself will be here to pick up ur slack!
