		<description>So, somebody (OK - ParkRidge47) has made the first of what is sure to be many volleys of today&amp;#8217;s mashup culture.  In this case, he/she made the YouTube clip composed of Hillary Clinton and Apple&amp;#8217;s famous 1984 commercial.  What are your thoughts on this piece of user generated content?  Good or bad?&lt;div class="feedflare"&gt;

I'll apologize right now for the sound issues with this particular segment. The moderator and host of the forum did not have a microphone, so they are barely audible. The candidates did have a microphone however, and there answers are clear enough where you can determine the original question.

<itunes:summary>Note: This is not an endorsement, but rather an additional channel to allow Citizen's to become familiar with the candidate. Similar recordings have been made for other candidates and all candidates have been offered to have their outreach meetings recorded.

May 11, 6:00 pm:
Cindy Chavez hosted an open, public 'Town Hall' at the West Valley library and this is a recording of that event. From Cindy's site:

The central challenge for the next Mayor of San Jose is how to use all of our resources, assets and talented people to achieve the highest quality of life of any big city in the nation. Making San Jose the best place in America to live, work, play, and learn is my goal.

That's why I hosted an Education Town Hall on Thursday May 11th at the West Valley Branch Library. This event was open to the public and provided an opportunity for us, as parents, teachers, community members and public officials, to discuss how we can work together to improve our schools and the education system in San Jose.

Though she originally confirmed her attendance with the organizers of the event, a conflict arose and Cindy Chavez ultimately did not attend. ldquo;Obviously, it would have made for a better debate if she were there but these mixups happen especially in this busy election season.rdquo; said the President of the Hyde Park NA.

This debate was a little different than all the other formats. Moderator Scott Herhold, columnist for the Mercury News, had specific questions tailored for each candidate and each candidate was allowed to ask a direct question to each of the other candidates. It made for an interesting exchange.

<itunes:summary>Well fellow Citizens, we're back with a new episode. It seems like the debates just keep coming. We are doing our best to try to record all of these meetings for you and have them put up as a Podcast for your listening enjoyment. Tonights debate has the five candidates for the San Jose mayor debate in a forum moderated by NBC11's Lisa Kim. The candidates in this debate are: Cindy Chavez, Dave Cortese, Michael Mulcahy, David Pandori and Chuck Reed.

After gettings started slightly late due to the HUGE immigration rally all around the downtown area, we listen as the candidates debate topics ranging from

	Immigration rights
Recent decision to purchase liquor at gas stations
	Norcal decision
	City hall furniture costs
	Public Trust
	Getting young people involved
	Airport financing plan

Hosted by the Commonwealth Club and co-sponsored by League of Women Voters San Jose/Santa Clara, the San Jose Mercury News and NBC 11 (KNTV).

San Jose Background

San Jose became in 1850 the first incorporated city in the US State of California, and served as its first state capital. It is the most populous city in Northern California, the third in the state (after Los Angeles and San Diego), and has just moved up to the 10th largest in the US. The city of San Jose stretches up to Mount Hamilton (4,372 feet), and so comprises a number of natural parks that contrast with its urban and suburban areas. It is an important business center as the self-proclaimed "Capital of the Silicon Valley", with homes to many corporations such as eBay, Apple, Cisco, Intel, and many others.</itunes:summary>
