Saturday practices return to 8:00 AM start time

High school swim season is over, and that means that the Sharks can return to their usual Saturday practice time at St. Charles. Beginning on Saturday, February 18th, Saturday practices are from 8:00 – 9:30 am. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep now, because Daylight Savings will be taking it away from you again in just a few weeks.

Sprint your heart out on Tax Day 2012

The Jon Steiner Memorial Mile is open until February 29. Click on the link above for more details, and notify a coach or captain if you are interested in participating. Fifty percent of the proceeds of this event are donated to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation in honor of the event’s founder, Jon Steiner, who was a long-time member of the Tamalpais Aquatic Masters (San Rafael, CA) until his death in September 2006.

This is one of our favorite meets, and we are planning to provide a large and enthusiastic contingent of swimmers and cheerleaders this year! A sign-up sheet is posted on the white board at St. Charles…if you plan to attend the meet, please provide us with your name so we can include you in upcoming communications and planning. If you are new to Masters swimming or returning to competition after a long absence, this is a perfect meet for you. A seasoned vet, you are? It’s perfect for you, too!

We will be holding our regular practices on both Christmas Eve (Saturday, December 24th) and New Year’ Eve (Saturday, December 31). That’s just how serious we are about training.

Video Swim Clinic – Saturday, December 3, 2011

Before our regular practice on Saturday, December 3, we will hold our winter quarter stroke clinic. Norm and Bo will use two cameras, one underwater and one on deck, to videotape participants swimming the strokes of their choice. Then coaches Chris and Bo will analyze the playback on deck and point out areas for improvement. This event is FREE for all current Sharks members – if you want to participate, simply show up at St. Charles pool at 6:00 am on Saturday, December 3.

OHI*O Masters 2011 Short Course Meters Swim Meet – December 10-11, 2011

This two-day meet will take place at the Ada Cooper Miller Natatorium at East Woods School in Hudson, Ohio. Entries must be received by Dec. 7. Deck entries will be accepted, except for event 20 (400 m. Freestyle). Relays are deck entry only. Click HERE for complete details and entry form.
