            <title>St Paul's Church is urging people to help fill a container for orphans in Burundi</title>

<p>A BIG hearted church congregation in Coventry is urging people to help them fill a container with much- needed items being sent to a school for orphans in Africa.</p>

<p>The worshippers of St Paul's Church, in Foleshill Road, decided to support the orphanage in Burundi, after The Rev Jim Canning bumped into a bishop from the country.</p>

<p>A CHURCH in Coventry celebrated its 100th birthday at the weekend.</p>

<p>Seventh Day Adventists marked the centenary of their Radford church with a day of prayer and  music.</p>

<p>The 160-strong congregation, with fellow worshippers from across the country, joined together in the centre of Coventry to mark the milestone in their church's life.</p>

<p>INVENTIONS and trades which began in Coventry are the theme of a flower festival in the city on Saturday.</p>

<p>The event at St Nicholas Church in Radford, starts at 10am. </p>

<p>There will be floral displays of bicycles, clocks, watches, cars and more as well as cake stalls, a tombola, refreshments and a raffle. </p>

<p>The church is in Sherwood Jones Close, on the corner of Engleton Road, and is open to everyone.</p>]]></description>

<p>A TALENTS themed Harvest and Flower Festival takes place at Foleshill Road United Reformed Church in Old Church Road, Coventry next month.</p>

<p>The flowers will be available for viewing at the church in Old Church Road, on Saturday, September 13 from 11am until 4pm and Saturday, September 14 from 1.30pm until 3pm. </p>

<p>Refreshments will be on sale.</p>

<p>A Harvest Festival service takes place at the church on Sunday, September 14 at 11am.</p>

<p>GRAVES of World War One veterans have been uncovered in Coventry by ex-offenders completing their community sentences. </p>

<p>The waist-high grass in the graveyard at St Nicholas Church in Radford has been cleared by a group of men as part of their work with their probation service. </p>

            <title>Burundi Bishop in plea for help from Coventrians</title>
            <description><![CDATA[<p>A CHANCE meeting on a Coventry street has encouraged African bishop Justin Baransananikiye to launch a fundraising drive for destitute children. </p>

<p>The clergyman runs an orphanage in Burundi which caters for almost 200 destitute youngsters, all victims of a bloody 12-year civil war that decimated the country. </p>

<p>We have Bishop Justin Baransananikiye of  Gitega, Burundi staying with us at the moment. </p>

<p>Burundi is one  of the poorest countries in the world, and is endeavouring to recover from 12 years of Civil War. </p>

<p>Bishop Justin and his Churches have taken  responsibility for 110 Orphans of the War, and has built a School for these  children. </p>
