So maybe it's just me, maybe it's my inner ego, maybe it's every bloggers hobby, but I love checking out my blogger statistics. I love it. I don't want to brag and tell everyone how many awesome loyal readers I have and I also don't want to complain and bitch about how many people that should read my blog. I'm just curious why anyone would want to read this?

For example just in the past week, the Swedish people have been rocking my blog coming from the cities of Kista, Stockholm, Hällesåker, Göteborg, Sävedalen, Sjöbo, Sundsvall, Kungshatt and Åkersberga. I also had readers from the following cities and countries this week:

I haven't posted a real blog on this site in quite awhile. Here we go. Where to start...I had a 1 year anniversary for the site a few weeks ago! Pretty cool. I had a birthday last week. I'm officially old. 27 years old. But I feel better than ever. I'm drinking lots of wine right now.

One great thing about LA is Amoeba Music. Today, after realizing that we won't be paying rent on time, I decided to clean out the closet a little, and unleash some wonderful cds to the world of Amoeba Music. I sold them a very eclectic mix of Snoop Dog, The Game, U2, Beck, The Hold Steady, Explosions in the Sky and Jay-Z for a total of $40 cash or $55 store credit.

It's fucking hot outside. This is one of the first times I've been sweaty in my hot-ass, humid-as-fuck apartment as I run the oven at 425 degrees to bake my Red Barron $3.33 supreme pizza. Life is wonderful. Gulp.

Deftones and Castledoor?

I love getting free tickets to shows. I love it. When I was asked to preview the the band Fall of Troy who was opening up for the Deftones I happily agreed.

The show was at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, actually in Universal Studios. I didn't know at the time but the locals call Universal Studios "The Asshole of the World". Haha. Universal Studios is a major tourist trap with it's Bubba Gump Shrimp, Hard Rock Cafe and a slew of other over priced shitty restaurants.

We picked up our tickets at will call and noticed that they gave us an extra. This was a great excuse for me to try to scalp the extra for some beer money. After 20 minutes of workin it with the other scalpers, and no luck, we entered into the indoor air conditioned Gibson Amphitheater just in time for The Fall of Troy.

I've actually seen The Fall of Troy once before and enjoyed their show. This was my first time seeing them on a large stage. The band looks like they just got out of indie rock high school and are now about to hit puberty. The singer Thomas Erak is a master guitar player with his Minus the Bear finger tapping left hand perfected and his loop pedals cycling in full effect.

We left for the second band and waited outside for the Deftones to come on. As we walked back to our row we noticed that everyone sitting there was gone. SOMEONE HAD THROWN UP ALL OVER OUR SEATS. I was standing in a pile of vomit. Being a little grossed out, I quickly wiped my feet on the seat in front of me and took someone else's seat across the isle.

The Deftones went on and played basically the same set they've been playing for the last 10 years.

After the show we made it home to down a few margaritas and a some beers. We made it just in time to see Castledoor finish up their amazing set that ended their month long Thursday night residency at The Silver Lake Lounge. Castledoor was by far the best band of the night and they made up for the vomit crust on the sides of my shoes by covering Sufjan Steven's "Chicago" as an encore.

Why LA?

I love it when people ask me why I moved to Los Angeles. I get the question all the time. I like to try to come up with a different answer each time asked just to make life more exciting. Then I got to thinking, why did I move out here? Is it the sunburn I just got on my shoulders walking around the lake for 30 minutes? Is it the traffic I'm in anytime I go anywhere? Is it the smog? Maybe the mountains? The weather? How about the 10% off beer days at my liquor store? Then as I was reading the good ole Lawrence.com, like I do every now and then, and I remembered why I now call LA home. There is absolutely nothing, NOTHING to do in Lawrence tonight except for the Lawrence Dart Tournament. Haha.

Window air conditioners are life changing.

I know that the talk of the town here and all over the rest of the country was the Sopranos this past Monday. But really, why all the haters? Do we really need a happy ending or closure? Happy endings are always nice but that's another blog topic. The cliffhanger seems to be a major trend lately. Look at every reality show on tv. For this reason, I canceled my cable. Done. Gone. I haven't had cable in almost 4 days and I feel great. Get this, I even slowed down my internet speed. No longer am I surfing the web at blazing speeds 100 times faster than dial up but, I now sail calmly sipping Margarettas and Mojitos at speeds 10 times faster than dial up. Yeah. As the new MTV commercials say, "Break the Addiction". Thanks MTV!

It's amazing how people change and grow up over the years. I used to tour in a band that toured with another band called Gatsbys American Dream. We never quite made it but Gatsby's toured for a few more years and put out a couple of pretty decent albums. To make a long story short. Gatsby's broke up. I just stumbled across Kirk Huffman's new band (The bass player from Gatsby's American Dream) called Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground. It's really quite different, more so in the Polyphonic Spree meets Sufjan Stevens type of way. I'm going to try to check them out this Friday at The Knitting Factory.

Life has been rather hectic so blogging has been put on the back burner for a little while.

I know that a lot of bloggers read this blog. Ok, not really but I like to pretend. Let me give you some friendly, helpful, kind advice. DON'T EVER PUBLICLY POST YOUR BLOG'S SITE STATISTICS ON YOUR BLOG. I'm jealous and it makes you look like a douche.

Has anyone else noticed that after the Griffith Park fire, everyone has been cleaning up their brush. Our next door neighbor has been chopping down his giant dead tree for a few weeks now. It's finally gone. This toilet is gone too.

I finally decided to capture some of the noise coming from my upstairs neighbor. As you know, I've had many rude awakenings from this 40 something year old single man such as an 8am rollerskating party, a 8am high heel marathon and his full apartment furniture move at all hours of the day. This video is slightly boring and silly but turn up your speakers and listen closely. What is this guy doing?

Sprint

Cell phones. You gotta love them, you gotta hate them. Lately I've been leaving my cell phone ringer on 2 all night just in case of emergency. I leave it on 2 just in case there's a chance I'm in a deep sleep and will sleep through the call. If it was on 4, I'd shit my pants.

Nobody used to ever call me in the middle of the night or at 6 in the morning but they do now. I wouldn't mind this except that once I wake up in the morning I'm up. No more sleep for me. Today, Joe the Plumber called me at 6am to tell me that he is going to run my credit card. Thanks Joe! Much appreciated.

Lets talk about Sprint. Los Angeles is a major metropolis and has around 10 million people. I live almost exactly 3 miles from downtown and have 0 bars on my phone at all times in my apartment. I live in one of the super light green areas on the coverage map. I'm supposed to have a "Fair" signal. Nope. Me and all the other Sprint customers here have none. If I had to guess how many Sprint customers are in the light green area, I would say in the thousands. Now it's kind of hard to tell what is what on the coverage map. The dark green represents the top of a hill with the strongest signal and the light green represents the bottom with the weakest.

It's amazing how only after 3 days of living in this apartment I figured out a way around my Sprint problem. If I go into my bedroom and try to call my voicemail, after about 2 minutes my phone will automatically kick over to roaming. While on roaming I only receive about a third of my calls and no text messages and messages about 15 minutes later. If I want to text someone, I have to go outside and walk 3 houses down the street to pick up a signal. Fucking magic I tell you.

Upstairs neighbor update:
This guy just keeps getting worse. So I'm convinced that this guy is a fucking psycho. I'm actually afraid to talk to him now. Yesterday morning at around 8am he decided to rearrange his entire apartment. I swear it sounded like he had a sludge hammer and was knocking down walls, moving refrigerators and dropping couches as loud as he possibly could all right above my bedroom. I'm also convinced that there is someone else living up there with him. I've never met or even seen this imaginary person but I heard it yesterday. The neighbor went down to through out the trash which also happens to be right outside my bedroom window and while he was at the bottom of the stairs I heard couches moving above me. This person never talks. Scary.

Los Angeles in Flames

Our next door neighborhood of Los Feliz is currently on fire. Over 600 acres of Griffith Park are burning and have been since around 1 pm today. It's weird to think that I was just hiking up there less than a month ago. Check out my hike. Here's my fire broadcast. It involves a 40oz of Mickeys and some really bad camera action. Anyone wanna hire me to host a realty show? Hollywood? Anyone? Bueller?

p.s. I actually took some amazing photos with my cell phone camera. It really is too bad that Sprint's service blows and won't email my photos.
