Do
you want to learn how to write VB script macros? In addition to the free power point tutorials I've made available to download, I've just released my latest book with expanded information entitled VB Scripting for CATIA V5.

There are many CAD
engineers, designers, and technicians who want to write macros but
simply don’t have time to sit down and learn everything they need to
know.

installed on your PC, only one of these is currently registered. You can
find which one is registered by looking at the directory when you register.
To automate a specific version of CATIA you first have t register that
version with Windows. Here are the steps to un-register or

As promised, here is our first site improvement for 1012. I’ve
created a new page for the CAD Systems Help blog where I will be adding
links to all the CAD related files I’ve made available to download. You
will be able to find all of our templates, tutorials, macros,
CATScripts, project management files, etc. Now you won’t have to search
through the whole site looking for one file. Simply

What is a CATIA macro? If you perform a task repeatedly,
you can take advantage of a macro to automate the task. A macro (or makro
to some people) is a series of functions, written in a scripting language,
that you group in a single command to perform the requested task automatically.
You can record a macro but it is highly recommended that you learn VBA
(or VBScript, a subset of VBA) in order

In order to understand how VB.net
code talks to CATIA we need to answer two other questions:

First, what does dll stand for?
In the world of computer software DLL stands for Dynamic Linked
Libraries. These are compiled files that contain all of the functions
that make CATIA V5 (or other software) perform an action. For example,
when you select the “point” function in CATIA, the program calls a

Are you interested in learning how to
write CATScript macros for CATIA for free? Do you find yourself often thinking
"There's a better way to do this, I just don't know how to do it"?
If so, then writing a macro may be the solution. There are numerous reasons
why you should learn how to write macros in CATIA, including saving time
and reducing the possibility of human error by automating

A
useful tool in today's world of engineering is to have software which can
view 3D CAD models but without having all of the tools of a CAD software
system thus making the viewer extremely cheap (ideally it would be free).
Here is a table comparing a few different CAD Viewer software programs and in the
coming weeks I will be offering a more descriptive breakdown of each one
including their

There are multiple ways to initiate a CATScript macro in CATIA V5. Did
you know that it is possible to invoke your macro through a tool bar
icon? How do you create an icon for your macro? Go to tools

simply define a logo for your macro by picking one from the 180 plus
icons to choose from (or browse to your own custom made icon) and
