You just have to see it, in fact, everyone has too see it.

The was the movie was shot, with the hand held camera, made it so much more intense. The shaking and everything made you feel like you are in the movie. However, lots of people get sick from this, and I've heard of people even barfing in the theatre. I'm so glad that I didn't ruin the movie by watching the crappy downloaded version I have. I can't explain how amazing this movie is, just pay the ten bucks and see it.

Never, before, have I seen a movie where everything was perfect. Cloverfield is the only movie I can call perfect. 10/10, *****, A+

Movies: The Real Camera Behind Cloverfield

I'm seeing the movie Cloverfield tonight, and I will write a response to it when I get back, but in the meantime, I have this. Apparently, the whole story was supposed to be shot with a cheap consumer camera, and recorded onto a SD card.... but it wasn't. More on what the actual camera was here: http://gizmodo.com/347463/the-real-camera-behind-cloverfield

I'm very excited to see this movie and I downloaded a torrent for it, but the quality is terrible. I heard good things about Cloverfield, so I decided that I wouldn't ruin it by watching it in shitty quality.

Geekery: The Truth about the 360's "Red Ring of Death".

As a Xbox 360 owner, I live in fear. What is it that I fear? The dreaded, "Red Ring of Death". The "RRoD" is three red lights on the Xbox 360 indicator, representing "general hardware failure". After the console launch, Microsoft claimed that the failure rate of the console was average, 3 - 5%. An insider who worked on the xbox 360 project for years tells us that it is more like 30%.

More from the insider at Microsoft here: Inside Source Reveal the Truth About Xbox 360 "Red Ring of Death" Failures

Photography: Vancouver, BC

I apologize for the lack of updates lately, exam time...

Finally managed to get the photos done that I took in Vancouver. Part Two.

We are all constantly bombarded with advertisements from every imaginable angle. Billboards, television, posters, flyers, internet ads, and spam emails are all examples of advertisements that we are subjected to almost every day. Some can overcome the massive amount of ads that we see, but others give in, and consume. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a bad thing to see something on TV that you want and then you go out and buy it. What I am saying there are people who are fully obsessed with buying every new thing that comes out on the market by every different possible brand. I may be over exaggerating a little bit here.

I believe that the main motivation for these people, especially the younger generation, to consume, is competition. The competition to have the nicest valuable possessions out of everyone they know. I also believe that this competition has something to do with a primal urge, contained in the subconscious, to be the “alpha male, or female” in that person’s group of friends and or family. However, these actions may be a conscious effort to be superior to the people around them.

If you measure your happiness by your material possessions, you will never be happy.

As a side note, you know you’re getting older when you despise the generation(s) below you. Haha.

Philosophy: A Doomed World? Part One.

Hey everyone,

I've been very busy with school, and things going on in my life, but I am currently creating a series of short essays that outline why I believe the world is doomed, and other various things that I want to bring attention too.

Without further ado, I present you the first part of my essays:

The human race as we know it is a parasitic leech affixed to the gut of mother earth, devouring all of the vital natural resources that it provides and giving nothing back in return. The world has been mangled and mutilated by it’s inhabitants and the delicate order of life has been disrupted. Life on earth, and earth itself, can never be sustained if we continue down the path that we are currently following. The polar caps are melting, disturbing habitats of living animals, marine, and terrestrial, making the ocean rise, which will also disturb habitats, but this time, the habitats of humans. Will it take this long for the public to take action? By that time, it may be too late.

Ignorance is bliss, and the main reason the world is in such a deplorable state is due to the fact that most of the general public are ignorant to important issues that affect them now, and that will affect them in the future. The public needs to be apprised of the important issues that affect them; like global warming, pollution, political issues, etc… However, all our time is instead squandered on material consumerism, mindless television shows, and fast foods.

Be sure to keep a look out for part two coming out sometime this week or next week.

RE: Zeitgeist; WTF?

Even if most of the facts, and quotations were fictitious, maybe the movie's purpose was to help the public "open their eyes" and take an interest in what is going on around them, instead of trying to make them believe that the 9/11 attacks were a government conspiracy, etc..?

All in all, I admit that is is a very biased movie, and the facts should be taken with a grain of salt. It's a trend of thought, a philisophy that could be believed- actually no, a burning desire to drill the facts into your head to see things THEIR way- but then what does this become than another Bible that the movie spent almost half the running time trying to deject?

Sure, Everyone should watch this movie- if you're a moron.

I watched almost through the 9/11 "Conspiracy Theory" before I clicked the Back button, more than a little pissed off.

First of all. Are you kidding me? I just spent an HOUR of my life which I'm never going to take back, watching this piece of crap that showed bunch of disturbing but unhelpful images, unproven seminars, audio tracks of stupid jokes, and unbelievable idiocy.

Second of all. I almost laughed out of my ass after seeing the movie trying to deject the Bible with ALL THEIR MIGHT. Sure I'm a catholic kinda person, and I did kind of go into the movie a little biased- but the important thing is, I watched it with an open mind. I thought, hey! If this guys smart enough to give me some hard evidence I can almost taste, what the heck- I'll be a believer. But what the fuck was this? Pardon my French.

As a Jesus lover ( and I say that now to avoid any confusion along the way, I do love Jesus, but that does not mean I'm going to be another devout idiot screaming for the light... And Jesus is cool man. The dude walks on water!), man I wanted to smack the narrator every time he said the word Jesus with his monotonous voice. But you know what? I agree with him on every single thing he said about the Bible. Do you know why?

Bible = Astrotheological Literary Hybrid

Sure. I can live with that. But just because...

THE BIBLE WAS NOT WRITTEN BY JESUS, GOD, MOSES, OR THE 12 DISCIPLES. I REPEAT, THE BIBLE WAS NOT WRITTEN BY JESUS, GOD, MOSES, OR THE 12 DISCIPLES. As far as I'm concerned, the Bible has nothing to do with God and the concept of its entity.

The Bible first began as few manuscripts, barely two sentence notes of events that could've have happened to this dude called Jesus. Then the Bible was evolved by devout storytellers, who molded the story of God to fit their beliefs. Reading by Matthew, John and yadda yadda yadda- Of course they can be from astrological signs, derived from their worship of the Sun. They could've have been derived by a toilet paper from a monkey's ass from all I care, they don't matter.

As a side note, to those who HAVE seen the movie- Judas, the one who was supposed to have betrayed Jesus for 30 shillings- in some readings he is regarded as a dirty pig, filled with doubt and greed. But in some other readings, he is seen as a tortured man ASKED by Jesus himself, to betray him. Jesus tells Judas to betray him, to begin the process of his ascension. Shortly after, Judas is then described that he kills himself because he cannot handle the guilt.

Going back to Religion.

The Church has nothing to do with God.

Of course it is a place of worship (or was), and it is a holy place in which where one can purify oneself, recount sins and ask for forgiveness. Generally, it is regarded (or was) as a place where one can openly and joyfully testify their love towards God with others.

I emphasize that it WAS, because it WAS, not IS. Nowadays, having a church became a matter of buisness. Social and economic demands brings out the human in the Priest, the Pope, the Bishop, the Saint. Moses, who is said to have parted water with a tap of his cane, A SAINT, is overcome by his human aspects of his personality because of his followers causing him grief with "Are we there yet?" "Where are we going?" "Feed us!" "Shelter us!" and of course, "Wheres the goddamn water?". Moses who is so pissed after a few weeks dealing with this, throws his cane against the rock in anger, and gets a stern talking to from God.

I mean seriously, if Moses lost it, it was just gonna be a matter of time before a human being loses it, lose sight of the faith for just a moment- which is enough to turn the most divine saints into a wrong path. (Holy Moly I sound like a preacher)

So Zeitgeist, boo the bible and the church all you want. If you can't convince me, a Catholic who doesn't read the bible and don't go to church all that much- How the hell are you going to "Educate" the others into seeing the truth? As I see it, the only person who needs to be educated is YOU.

And then the movie goes on and on about how this same Jesus like figure turning up all over history book around the world. Seriously, who knows what the world looked like back then? We're talking about BC time here. We're talking about when Europe could still be attached to North America along with Africa and Asia. As the lands separate, they're bound to have some storytellers coming from the same region to talk glory about this dude who can walk on water.

Third of all. 9/11 Conspiracy.

Are you people still that stupid? You idiots. I cannot go through this all over again- Oh my goodness it feels like I'm 14 again trying to educate balding men in their 40's that THERE IS NO CONSPIRACY.

Actually, I'm not going through it again. Go talk to maddox, who has more elegance with words than me regarding 9/11. I like him.

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=911_morons

Click.

By watching this movie, and I'll quote Maddox, it felt like "getting bukakked with stupid".

Finally, I'll finish off with a refreshing thought, but something everyone knows.

MEDIA IS BULLSHIT. News interviews prove jack, and people will say anything for money. Please do NOT be an idiot and listen to me, listen to Maddox, and listen to the Government (which does not cease to be whiny bitches about everything... You know what, scratch that out, don't listen to the government AT ALL) and most importantly, listen to your common sense. Everyone is born with one.

Maybe not George Bush.

But you, sure.

ps. Sorry Riley, I guess we conflict on something- and that's Zeitgeist.

News: War in Iran?
Bush and Cheney really are planning to attack Iran! But it's weird to think that after all these years, we're still going steady with this friendship thing. Oh man, when he showed his documentary video (Was it about World War 2? Or Pearl Harbour? Haha I have no clue, sorry Riley.) to our grade 7 class, I thought "Jeez, that's good". One of the last scenes of that documentary was, I think in my memory... The man who Riley interviewed, (Maybe he suffered a stroke? The man couldn't speak well) was laughing. I might not remember anything else of it, but I do remember that part because that scene made an impression on me.

And I also remember Riley winning some kind of contest and getting a sweet camera as an award for his excellence in filming.

Did also mention something about a zombie book that never materialised? Hey Riley, whatever's going on with that thing? Haha.

And since I've babbled on about things that does not concern any hellos and defintely not any radical thoughts! I'm going to move on.

Hello!

There was my hello. Now I have undeniably introduced myself without fault.

Taking pictures is NOT overrated. And taking pictures IS more fun with a SLR camera than just with a cheap digital. And as my first post, this isn't really official- therefore I will not be writing in this form again.

That was my first thought.

Everyone have a good night! ...Or good morning.

CIA Met With Bin Laden in Weeks Before 9/11 Attacks

Two months before September 11 Osama bin Laden flew to Dubai for 10 days for treatment at the American hospital, where he was visited by the local CIA agent, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro."

Full story here

Lest We Forget...

With Remembrance Day almost upon us, I ask one thing from you, take time out of your busy schedule, if only just two minutes, to reflect upon what all those courageous men and women have done for us. They have given their lives to enrich ours. They have served, protected, and possibly died, all for us, to ensure a better, brighter future. What's sad is, every year I see less and less veterans, and they are not the only ones dying, the stories they have told also die with them. So I urge you to remember the things they have done, the stories they have told, and do not forget the faces of valor, courage and compassion.

Dedicated to all of the men and women who have died in the line of duty, and the ones who are still alive. I salute you.

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields."
— John McCrae

News: Microsoft Kills MSN Messenger for Mac

Microsoft announced that they are no longer going to be supporting a Mac version of MSN Messenger. Which, by the way, one of the most buggy applications out there. Any guesses to why that was? Because it was made by Microsoft, of course! Anyways, who really cares, there are many other great MSN Messenger clients out there, like Adium for example.

Microsoft says that they are making a "really, really cool and awesome" new MSN client for Mac, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Mac, FTW!

Halo 3: Landfall

"Director Neill Blomkamp explores the lives of Marines and ODSTs on a last, desperate mission in a post-invasion Earth – a mission that may secure the salvation, or usher the destruction of the entire galaxy. So, until recently, when I was at my Dad's house, I had no way to connect to Xbox Live. I tried to convince my Dad to buy a wireless adaptor for the Xbox, but it was like, $150 or something. The house's modem and WI-FI router are in the room next to me, so I asked if I could drill a hole through the wall and run my ethernet cable through it.... not allowed. A few days ago, I was pondering about how to connect to Xbox Live, then it hit me. I could connect my Xbox 360 to my Macbook, via ethernet cable, then manually configure the network/internet settings on both the computer and 360 to allow the Xbox access to my internet connection. It took me a while to figure it all out, but now it works perfectly, and I'm sad to say that it actually is faster than my connection at home.... lame....

So, without further ado, I present to you, my networking guide:

1.) Get on your Mac, and open System Preferences > Sharing.
2.) Click on the "Internet" tab.
3.) If you are using a computer with a wireless connection, change the "Share your connection from: " option to "Airport". If your computer is connected to the internet by an ethernet cable, change the "Share your connection from:" option to: "Built-In Ethernet". Then in the "To computers using:" option, check "Built-in Ethernet. Once you are done that, press the start button. It may warn you about doing this, because your ISP may not like it, but whatever. I'm doing it anyways.
***Important, if you are running your internet through a firewall you will have to enable the "Personal web sharing" service, in the "Services" tab.***
4.) Open up the "NetInfo Manager" (Applications > Utilities > NetInfo Manager), then go to: / > config > dhcp > subnets > 192.168.2. You will need to have this open for later reference.
5.) Fire up the 360 and go to: System > Network Settings > Edit Settings
6.) Compare your "NetInfo Manager" window to this picture: (Click here). Enter the values into the corresponding fields (in the "Edit Settings" window of your 360). If any values on your "NetInfo Manager" window differs from the ones in the picture, use the ones from your window.
7.) Connect the 360 to your Mac with an ethernet cable.
8.)
