Cellulite. Just the word alone makes the majority of women cringe. The telltale dimples can show up on your buttocks, thighs, hips, stomach and arms. The only reassuring thing about cellulite is knowing that you aren’t alone. It’s a condition that affects about 90% of women and 10% of men.

Cellulite is tough to get rid of because there are several underlying causes for dimpled skin that get worse as we age. Many people mistakenly think fat is to blame, but it’s only part of the problem, which is why women of all shapes and sizes can have cellulite. At the center of it all are fibrous bands and connective tissue.

Physical Factors That Affect Cellulite

If you were to dissect the skin, you’d see that below the epidermis there’s a layer of fat and then muscle underneath. There are also fibrous bands of connective tissue that run vertically between the muscle and skin. When the fibrous bands are stretched to their limit they pull down on the skin creating a dimpled appearance. Sometimes this occurs if fat accumulates in between the skin and muscle, but it can also be a result of skin quality and inflexible fibrous bands. This is why cellulite is considered genetic.

Other factors that come into play and make cellulite worse include:

Decreased collagen production

Skin quality and thickness

Fat levels and distribution

Muscle loss

With so many factors affecting the appearance of cellulite, it’s no wonder the condition is so hard to treat. Even though stubborn cellulite is tough to get rid of, there are solutions that can smooth skin in time for summer.

Venus Viva – The Solution for Stubborn Cellulite

Cellulite is normal, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with it. There have been countless cellulite “solutions” developed over the decades from creams to lasers, but few of them do much more than drain a bank account.

You may have heard about invasive treatments that cut the fibrous tissue beneath the skin to get rid of cellulite. While these surgeries can be effective, they are extremely expensive and can leave you with scars. An easier, safer and more affordable solution is Venus Viva.

Instead of treating the fibrous bands, Venus Viva is a non-surgical skin resurfacing treatment that uses NanoFractional Radio Frequency (RF) and SmartScan technology. As the Mayo Clinic points out, radio frequency systems are among the best cellulite solutions.

During a Viva treatment the aesthetician uses a handheld device with tiny pins at the end. As the device moves over the skin it punctures the surface and delivers heat via NanoFractional RF. The aesthetician will also use what’s called a Diamond Polar applicator to heat the skin further with multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electro magnetic fields.

The combination of heat and pinpricks prompts the skin to produce more collagen, the main structural component of connective tissue. This is important for two reasons:

Collagen makes up about 75% of skin and accounts of roughly 90% of its volume. More collagen equals thicker dermis that’s less likely to show cellulite.

When collagen is increased the elasticity of skin improves, further reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Addressing collagen loss is key in combating cellulite. Starting at about age 25, women begin losing 1.5% of their collagen each year, which is why treatments like Viva are needed to boost levels back up. Venus Viva treatments can also be used to fade stretch marks, lighten scars, improve discoloration and treat UV skin damage.

Although Viva is minimally invasive, it’s safe to use on all skin types across multiple areas of the body. There’s also little to no downtime involved, and improvements can be seen in as little as a few days. However, for optimal results 3-4 sessions spaced a month apart is usually recommended.

Want to get smooth, cellulite free skin in time for the summer swimsuit season? Then schedule a Venus Viva session at Cadiz Laser Spa. Our experienced aestheticians can help you improve the look of your skin from head to toe!

This time of year, when people are showing more skin, we get a lot of questions about laser hair removal. One of the most common questions we hear is, “can I shave between laser treatments?”

The short answer is, yes! Some hair will grow in between the treatments, and it’s perfectly okay to shave.

Because of the way lasers work, we encourage our clients to shave before each laser hair removal treatment to maximize the results. The lasers used for hair removal target melanin (pigment) in hair follicles. But the ultimate goal is to destroy the hair follicle so the hair stops growing. By shaving before the treatment, all the hair (and melanin) will be below the skin surface closer to the root for more targeted and effective hair removal.

So, it’s definitely a good idea to keep shaving between laser hair removal treatments. It won’t negatively affect the results of the treatment, and luckily after each one you’ll have less to shave!

Tips on Shaving Before and After Laser Hair Removal

You can shave before and after laser hair removal, but there are tricks that can help you get the most out of your treatments and protect your skin.

SHAVING BEFORE LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Shave – don’t wax, pluck or use a cream hair remover. You want to remove the hair above the skin surface without completely removing it. If you wax, tweeze or use a depilatory cream there won’t be any melanin for the lasers to target.

Shave the night before your treatment. Shaving just before could leave the skin irritated.

Exfoliate the skin before shaving. This will help remove dead skin cells and make shaving go smoother.

Don’t use moisturizers after shaving. Normally, following up with moisturizer is a good idea, but unless you shower again the residue could still be on the skin during the treatment.

Use an electric razor if irritation and nicks are likely. Some areas, like the bikini line, are very sensitive. You can reduce potential skin trauma by using an electric razor the night before or the morning of your treatment.

SHAVING AFTER LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Wait a few days to shave after a laser hair removal treatment. Your skin may be a little sensitive right after the treatment, so it’s best to wait to avoid irritation.

Wait 4-5 days to exfoliate after treatment. That way there’s less risk of irritating skin in the treated area when you shave.

Watch out for hair shedding. Several days after the laser treatment the affected hair will begin to shed. Some people mistake this for hair growth and quickly reach for the razor. Before you shave, scrape gently against the hair. If it’s dead the hair will come right out.

Track your new shaving habits. Needing to shave less often is a sign that the treatments are working.

After battling the dry, cold winter months your skin may be a little duller than you like, especially now that the bright sunny spring days are here. Since you’re Spring Cleaning around the home this season, why not do the same for your skin?

It’s time to freshen up your complexion this spring with deep cleansing and rejuvenation services for the face!

Wipe Out the Winter With Deep Cleaning Facials

Sure, your cleansing brush is better than hand washing, but no clean is going to rival a spa facial. For thousands of years deep cleaning facials have been used to combat skin damage and revive the epidermis. Your esthetician can also use facial treatments to get your skin balanced and prepped for the warmer weather. You may want to get 2-3 facials over the next couple months to fully rebalance your skin.

Dermaplane facials offer an even deeper exfoliation. During the treatment the esthetician will use a specialized tool to carefully scrape away the dead layer of surface skin. The procedure reveals the brighter, healthier skin underneath. BONUS: dermaplane facials can also help you get rid of peach fuzz so there’s one less hair concern this summer.

Go Deeper With a Chemical Peel

If you want to shed off the lasting effects of winter try a chemical peel. The procedure involves the application of non-toxic chemicals that dissolve the upper layers of skin. Your esthetician can help you select the right type of chemical peel that can then be customized to work for your specific skin type by tweaking the solutions concentration or adjusting the ingredients.

The biggest decision is how deep you want the chemical peel to go. A light chemical peel will slough off the dull surface layer of skin for a refreshed appearance. Medium to deep chemical peels exfoliate the layers underneath for more dramatic results, but there’s significantly more shedding and longer downtime.

Start Fresh Will Laser Rejuvenation

Out with the old, and in with the new! Laser rejuvenation is a non-invasive yet highly effective way to revitalize the skin in as little as one treatment.

Laser rejuvenation services have become extremely popular in recent years because they work. Dozens of machines have been developed to target specific skin problems so it’s important to discuss your options with a professional esthetician. Some of the most gentle yet effective laser rejuvenation procedures include Aura laser facial resurfacing and YAG laser resurfacing.

Estheticians can also combine laser resurfacing procedures to customize the results. If the idea of lasers seems a little too extreme Venus Viva is another alternative. The procedure uses NanoFractional Radio Frequency (RF) to resurface the skin.

Don’t Forget to Wear the Right Moisturizer

Even though it’s getting humid outside, moisturizer is still an important part of getting gorgeous spring skin. However, you may need to retire your heavy winter moisturizer. Instead, try a gel moisturizer if you have normal, combo or oily skin. The formula will hydrate without making your skin feel sticky.

Going to a medspa for the first time is kind of like a first date. Your relationship with a medspa and its staff can end up being a long-term affair if the experience goes well. Getting the best results possible is most certainly a two-way street that involves collaboration between the client and esthetician.

If it’s your first time visiting a medspa keep these etiquette tips in mind to make a great first impression and get the most out of your appointment.

Arrive on Time or a Little Early

One of the biggest breaches of spa etiquette is to show up late for your appointment. Doing so can make your esthetician feel rushed and throw off their schedule for the rest of the day.

A good rule of thumb is to aim to arrive at least 5-10 minutes early. If it’s your first time visiting a medspa then arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can fill out the paperwork.

Fill Out the Paperwork Completely and Honestly

Speaking of medspa paperwork, another etiquette no-no is to fib on the forms. Medspa personnel need to know certain things about your past and current medical conditions to prevent adverse reactions that could easily be avoided. They also need to know every medication you’re taking topically and orally. These questions are being asked for your own protection, so honesty is the best policy.

If possible fill out the paperwork before your appointment. This will save time once you arrive, and it’s easier to look up information while you’re at home.

Be Honest With Your Esthetician

The same rule applies anytime your esthetician asks a question. Try to answer as completely and honestly as possible. If you aren’t sure about something let them know, and ask your own questions if you’re unclear about what they’re asking.

Don’t Wear Makeup If You’re Getting a Facial Treatment

This one may be a little difficult if you’re coming from the office, but please don’t wear makeup if you’re getting a facial treatment. Your esthetician needs a squeaky clean surface to perform facials, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, etc. The esthetician will prep the skin before the procedure, but makeup makes the process more cumbersome than it needs to be.

Turn Your Cell Phone Off

Cell phones make life more convenient, but they can get in the way of your medspa appointment. Before the appointment begins put your phone on silent so it doesn’t become a distraction.

Come to Your Appointment Solo

Everyone loves a girls’ day at the spa, but during your first appointment the esthetician wants to be fully focused on you. They may also bring up topics you don’t want to discuss in front of others. Don’t worry, if you need moral support before getting a treatment for the first time your esthetician is your best friend. They’re the most knowledgeable about what to expect and can coach you through the procedure as well as any BFF.

Let Your Technician Know If You Have an Event Coming Up

Your esthetician needs to know what you have coming up on your calendar. Why? Each treatment has a unique set of possible side effects and downtime. Estheticians make treatment recommendations based on the recovery period and how long it takes to reach optimal results. When your esthetician knows what’s coming up on your social schedule they can make sure you look great when it matters the most.

At Cadiz Laser Spa we go to great lengths to make every client feel relaxed and comfortable whether it’s their first visit or they’re one of our regulars. We’d love to get to meet you and discuss how we can help you look and feel your best.
Halloween is synonymous with tricks, treats and creative costumes, but at Cadiz Laser Spa we associate it with something else – scary skin reactions. People often forget the makeup that transforms their appearance can also clog pores and irritate skin even if it isn’t sensitive.

Halloween makeup tends to be very heavy, which doesn’t allow the skin to breath. While you enjoy the holiday festivities your skin is basically being suffocated. If you want to avoid playing a mean trick on your skin this Halloween check out the makeup suggestions below.

Look for the Non-Comedogenic Label

Non-comedogenic means the product won’t clog pores and is typically free of pore-clogging oils. Anything that goes on your face should have the label to minimize the risk of a breakout.

Watch Out for Harsh Chemicals

Extreme pigments and special effects makeup (like glow-in-the-dark creams) look cool for a reason – they are far from natural. It’s best to skip this type of makeup all together. If it’s an essential part of your costume take a look at the ingredients label before you buy. Steer clear of products that contain harsh chemicals such as formaldehyde, fragrance, phenoxyethanol and propylene glycol.

Avoid Costume Makeup

If you only heed one piece of advice this should be it. Any makeup you find in the costume aisle is likely to come with the problems noted above. Costume makeup is cheap and meant to only be worn once. It’s designed to mask the skin not nourish it.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Theater makeup is different from costume makeup. The heavy-duty makeup used by stage actors is pricey, but it’s used to create unique looks night after night without irritating the skin.

Opt for Makeup Brands You Already Use

Walk right past the costume aisle to the makeup section. There’s a good chance you can find whatever you need from a beauty brand that invests heavily in creating products that won’t upset your skin. The safest option is to use products from a line that you currently use.

Create a Layer of Protection With Primer

When you’re shopping for Halloween makeup add primer to the list. A makeup primer will create a barrier of protection for your skin. Instead of the makeup sinking into your pores it will sit on top of the primer. Bonus – primer will also help makeup go on smoother, last longer and minimize fine lines.

Be Gentle When Removing Makeup

At the end of the Halloween revelry you’re bound to be tired and ready for bed, but it’s important not to rush the makeup removal process. It’s even worse to skip it all together.

Read the removal directions beforehand to make sure you have what you need to get the makeup off. Most of the time removal requires more than water alone. We also highly suggest that you do a double cleaning. Gently wash off the bulk of the makeup on the first go round with a mild gel cleanser. If you have a face cleaning brush use it along with a glycerin-based soap or cream cleanser for the second wash. Before your face is done drying smooth on a layer of moisturizer.

Treat Your Skin to a Little Pampering

After the Halloween holiday you can help your skin recover with a little extra pampering. Now its the perfect time to treat yourself to a rejuvenating facial. A customized facial spa treatment will clear out pores to correct flare-ups and prevent future breakouts. You’ll be left feeling fresh faced and ready to start the picture-filled holiday season.

Need to recover after an evening of trick-or-treating and Halloween parties? Cadiz Laser Spa has frighteningly good spa specials and aestheticians that know how to work magic!

It’s official. Summer is over and fall is settling in for the next few months. After that there will be winter, which ironically takes a toll on your skin right when it’s picture-taking season.

How is it that some people are able to maintain a healthy glow from summer to winter? The trick is to make adjustments before the weather starts to turn. During October we tell all of our clients to start planning ahead and getting ready to transition from summer to winter skincare.

Use our week-by-week guide to go from your old summer skincare routine to one that’s made for the winter.

Week 1 – Audit Your Skincare Routine

Now is the time to do a thorough assessment of your skincare routine and products. Some products can stay, like your daily sunscreen, while others need to be swapped or upgraded.

The main concern is dryness. During the winter the humidity levels are much lower. Heaters also add to the problem by drying out the air indoors. Gel cleaners can be replaced with creams, moisturizer can get much thicker and chapstick should remain within easy reach. The idea is to boost moisture levels before the skin has a chance to get dried out.

Week 2 – Introduce a Scrub

Dry skin is dull skin that needs to hurry up and slough off. You can help the process along by adding a gentle scrub to your nighttime face cleaning once or twice a week. If you’re keeping your face and neck moisturized this should be enough to keep skin soft and supple.

If your skin needs more serious sloughing you can try an exfoliating spa procedure like the Aura Laser Facial Resurfacing Treatment. It’s more effective yet gentler than microdermabrasion. Start a series of treatments now and by December you’ll certainly notice improved skin tone and smaller pores.

Week 3 – Schedule a Hydrating Facial

You’ve got to stay one step ahead of the fall air that’s getting drier by the day. It’s highly beneficial to pamper your skin once a month with a super hydrating facial like the Intraceuticals O2 Facial. It uses oxygen to provide a surge of moisture that leaves the skin incredibly hydrated.

Week 4 – Start Planning for Picture Season

By the end of October you only have about a month until the holiday parties begin. Some people wait until a few weeks before Thanksgiving to start scheduling spa treatments and using skincare products, but that could be too late to achieve the full effect in time for pictures.

We recommend that you schedule most spa procedures well in advance, especially if the treatment is delivered in a series. Suggestions include:

Botox – 5-7 days in advance. One of the nice things about Botox is you can go back to normal life right after the procedure is done. However, it will take about three days for the Botox to take effect.

Fillers – Two weeks in advance. There could be bruising and swelling that lasts up to a week after injectable fillers. You may also decide to adjust the volume up or down to achieve the desired effect.

Chemical Peels – 1-2 weeks in advance. Some lighter chemical peels only have a few days of flaking, but deeper peels could require up to a week or so to see the full results. If you prefer lighter peels it’s even more beneficial to start a month or two in advance so you can work in a series of 2-3 peels before attending holiday parties.

Want personalized skincare advice from the professionals? The aestheticians at Cadiz Laser Spa take the time to analyze your skin before every treatment and customize the process for maximum results. Schedule a time to come in and discuss your winter skin goals!

Have you ever noticed that every season skin seems to have different issues? Our skin is very reactive to the environment. Humidity, pollutants, wind, temperature – it can all have an affect on how our skin looks and feels. To keep your epidermis looking its best from one season to the next, you have to make adjustments to your skincare routine. The five changes below will help your skin stay healthy as we transition from summer to fall.

Keep Protecting Skin From the Sun

Before we make a few suggestions for how to update your skincare routine for fall, it’s important to note that sunscreen should be part of the process year round. Just because the pool parties, tubing down the river and relaxing out on the lake are coming to end, it doesn’t mean that UV rays are no longer a concern.

Sunscreen needs to be worn each and every day no matter what season it is. Sun damage is a leading cause of premature aging and skin cancer. Even on cool, cloudy days UVA and UVB rays penetrate the earth’s atmosphere. Applying a broad spectrum sunscreen every morning and repeating the process a few times throughout the day is a simple way to protect skin.

Correct Summer Sun Damage

Jump start your fall skincare routine with a treatment that can undo all the damage of summer. Between increased sun exposure, sweating, travel and more your skin can get worn out by the end of the summer season. Some of the more effective treatments can increase sun sensitivity so fall is a good time to weigh your options.

Laser skin rejuvenation is one option that can help you hit the skin reset button. Procedures like our Aura Laser Facial Resurfacing Treatment penetrate deeply to correct sun spots, a dull complexion and a number of other issues creating by increased sun exposure.

Switch to a More Intense Moisturizer

During the summer when humidity is at its highest, there’s less need for a thick moisturizer. But as things begin to cool off and humidity levels drop, the moisture level of skin can change too. Now is the perfect time to incorporate a thicker moisturizer into your daily skincare routine to prevent dryness before it happens.

Dry skin is more prone to acne, wrinkling and damage. Keeping moisture levels consistent with a creamy moisturizer in the morning and thicker cream in the evening can help skin stay balanced and healthy. Likewise, you’ll want to switch from gel-based face mask to a cream mask in the fall. Regular spa facial treatments can also help keep skin properly hydrated despite the dry weather.

Make Exfoliation a Top Priority

When your skin is drying out, scrubbing it seems like the last thing you should do. However, a good exfoliation is usually the best way to fix flaky skin. Most people can combat dry skin with gentle exfoliation once or twice a week. Procedures like dermaplane facials offer deeper exfoliation that significantly softens and smooths skin after just one treatment.

Use a Gentle Cleanser

Gel and foam cleansers are ideal for combating oily skin during the summer, but they’re often too astringent for fall. When our clients ask us for fall cleansing tips we recommend using a non-drying gel formula in the morning followed by a cream cleanser at night. An alcohol-free toner can also provide additional cleansing and balance pH levels without drying the skin.

We have to say goodbye to the warm weather of summer, but we don’t have to say goodbye to glowing, supple skin. The experts at Cadiz Laser Spa can keep your skin looking its best year round. Give us a call today to schedule a consultation with one of our skin specialists!

Going under the knife is no longer necessary to dramatically improve your appearance. Technology has given us many more non-invasive and minimally invasive tools that can be used to do what was once only possible with surgery.

Our team of expert aestheticians makes use of these nonsurgical treatments every day to help clients address a variety of skin issues. Here’s a closer look at five treatments that will have you looking your best without the risk and cost involved with surgery.

Smooth Out Wrinkles, Raise Eyebrows and More With Botox

Botox is possibly the biggest aesthetic advancement in the last decade. The injectable was first approved to treat two muscle-related eye disorders. Soon afterward it was discovered that Botox could be used to relax facial muscles that create dynamic wrinkles. These are the wrinkles that form from repeated movement.

Doctors and aestheticians are expanding the use of Botox to not only correct wrinkles but to also improve the features of the face. With the correct injection, it’s possible to lift eyebrows and reshape the jawline. Today, Botox is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment. In 2015 alone 6.7 million Botox procedures were preformed, which is a 1% increase over the year before.

Iron Out Wrinkles and Cellulite With Venus Legacy

As we age skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity. Both of these problems can cause wrinkles to form and cellulite to worsen. Venus Legacy is an FDA-approved treatment that uses multi-polar radio frequency (RF) and pulsed magnetic fields to tighten and smooth the skin.

As the Venus Legacy’s suction mechanism is moved over the skin, the heat it produces causes the skin to tighten and contract. After six treatments many people see significant improvement in wrinkles, skin texture, complexion and cellulite.

Improve Your Complexion With Microneedling

One of the hottest facial treatments right now is microneedling. The procedure is a lot like it sounds – an aesthetician uses a radiofrequency microneedler device to pierce the skin with tiny needles that are 0.2-1mm thick. It’s the same concept behind aerating soil. Piercing the surface allows the skin to readily absorb skincare products and promotes collagen production.

The depth of the needles can be adjusted depending on a person’s skin and their treatment needs. Microneedling can be used to fade acne scars, exfoliate the skin, even out complexion and smooth wrinkles.

Scrape Skin Problems Away With Dermaplane Facials

If you’ve tried microdermabrasion but want a deeper level of exfoliation, you’re a perfect candidate for dermaplane facials. The treatment involves the use of a specialized surgical blade that’s scraped across the skin surface. Dead skin cells are removed along with peach fuzz that often doesn’t respond to laser hair removal. This deep level of exfoliation dramatically improves the texture and tone of skin, softens wrinkles, diminishes acne scars and removes facial hair after just one treatment.

Maintain Your Youthful Appearance With Injectable Fillers

Over time we lose fat, collagen and hyaluronic acid that plumps up the face. This volume loss is part of the aging process that can make a person appear to be older. Injectable fillers are designed to temporarily correct these issues and subtly enhance features by replacing lost volume.

There are a number of injectable fillers, and each one can be used for a specific purpose. For example, the smooth consistency of Juvederm makes it ideal for plumping up the lips and smoothing out lines around the mouth. Some fillers are thicker and can be used to fill out the cheeks, while others like Restylane are thinner. The longevity of the results depends on both the type of filler used and the area where they are injected.

At Cadiz Laser Spa we specialize in non-invasive and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. If you’re interested in improving your appearance without surgery, give us a call today to schedule a consultation.

Laser hair removal was first approved by the FDA in 1997. Over the course of the last few decades the technology has advanced dramatically. Now there are a variety of machines that are made for general use as well as specific hair removal.

Just about any area of the body can be treated with laser hair removal machines, but which areas are most effective? That’s a question we get a lot at Cadiz Laser Spa. Generally it comes down to how dark, thick and/or coarse the hair is that’s being treated.

Every person is unique, and most areas will get great results with enough treatments. If your top priority is seeing dramatic hair reduction in the shortest time possible, here are a few areas to consider.

Underarms

The underarms are one body part that women almost always shave, sometimes every single day. This makes the underarms a great area for laser hair removal. Clients also like that the underarms respond to laser hair removal very quickly. It’s not uncommon to see visible hair reduction after just a few treatments. A residual benefit of removing hair in the underarm region is having a more even skin tone.

Bikini Line

The higher the contrast is between the color of your skin and the pigment of the hair the better the results will be. The bikini area doesn’t see much sun, especially during the fall and winter. Since the skin tends to be paler and the hair tends to be darker the bikini area typically responds very well to laser hair removal machines. After six monthly treatments most clients are extremely pleased with the dramatic hair reduction.

Lower Leg

Hair on the lower leg is often thicker compared to other areas. That helps to make laser treatments more effective because there’s more melanin to target beneath the skin. In our experience most clients see significant hair removal after just three treatments to the lower legs.

Of course, the effectiveness of laser hair removal also depends on the machine used and the skill of the aesthetician. At Cadiz Laser Spa our laser hair removal aestheticians are thoroughly trained in the use of our Candela Alexandrite and Yag lasers. We can help you save a lot of time, money and aggravation by getting rid of unwanted hair for good.

We absolutely love the summer season. The long days and the relaxed vibe beckon us outdoors even though it’s blazing hot outside. But after weeks of fun in the sun, trips to the pool and dealing with dehydration, the summer starts to take a toll on our skin.

Refreshing facials are the perfect solution for sun beaten skin. Facials are ideal because they can be customized to your exact skin type to address a specific need.

Give Skin a Boost of Hydration With the Intraceuticals O2 Facial

Summer isn’t as dry as winter, but hydration can still become an issue after taking a dip in chlorinated water, spending hours in the air conditioning or getting a lot of sun exposure. In addition to wearing sunscreen, a hydrating facial can help get parched skin glowing again.

Our Intraceuticals O2 Facial is the go-to for clients that need a moisture surge. It’s called an “oxygen facial” because nano-hydrators and amino peptides are delivered via oxygen using a 3-step hyaluronic layering process. You’ll immediately notice that your skin feels softer and more supple.

Control Oil and Break Outs With a Pore Clearing Facial

On the opposite end of the spectrum is oily skin. During the humid summer months oil production tends to ramp up for many people. This is partly due to the heat. If the body senses that the skin is getting hot blood vessels send more blood to the skin surface to help cool things down. The increase in blood can cause skin to swell and kick oil production into overdrive.

When that happens keeping the shine under control becomes a full-time job and breakouts can pop up. A Facial Spa Treatment can be customized to focus on clearing out pores that get clogged by excess oil. During the treatment skin will be gently exfoliated to remove oil and toxins. It’s a quick and easy way to reduce blemishes by deeply cleansing the skin.

Correct Sun Damage With a Dermaplane Facial

Have you noticed a few extra freckles that weren’t there at the beginning of summer? Sun damage can accelerate the aging process, causing excessively dry skin, fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. During the summer when the UV index is high, all it takes is 10-15 minutes out in the sun to start feeling the affects.

Exfoliation is the key to revealing the healthier skin underneath. Dermaplane facials are a great solution for exfoliating away sun damage. During the treatment dead skin cells are scraped away using a surgical blade. Since no chemicals or solutions are used this facial can be done on even the most sensitive skin. All it takes is one Dermaplane facial to significantly improve the tone and texture of your skin.

If your skin is severely sun damaged you may want to consider getting a series of Dermaplane facials or a Vi Peel, which is suitable for all skin tones.

Erase the side effects of having fun in the sun this summer with a facial from Cadiz Laser Spa. Call today to learn about our complete selection of facials or to schedule an appointment.
