Cotton might be more practical in a warm climate, where wool would be more functional in a cold climate. Also you should consider if you want to invest in special care items such as silk, linen or ramie. If you love these fabrics and don't mind the extra care, then go for it!

If you travel a lot, you need to give extra consideration to how well the fabric travels. Fabrics that travel well are polyester, nylon and spandex blends.

Another consideration is whether the items fit properly. Classic lines that do not go out of style are a good choice, but consider your body type. Make sure that outdated items are recycled (donate, donate, donate). Worn items that no longer have a life, trash would be best. If your into recycling, old sweaters make great hats and scarves. (Takes a little sewing knowledge. Check out MissDeeClutter, Recycle articles.)

Take a couple of crates or bins, organize by season to wear. Also a couple for donate, recycle, so on. Keep in your closet if you have room, on the floor. This is a convenient way to keep your closet from getting cluttered by unused items. When full donate, store, trash as determined. Label appropriately for easy access.

Minimalist Building and Decor

Books to check out on ebay. I am under the weather, sick as a dog. I have found an interesting recipe to share. The secret lies in the heating of ingredients.

Take 2 lemons and squeeze in saucepan. Add 4 - 8 tablespoons of honey. Take squeezed lemon rinds and cut up 1 lemon in slivers and add to the pot along with 1 cup of water. Bring all to a rolling boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes on low. Heat mug and add a generous shot of brandy (rum or whiskey may be used also). Bring saucepan back to rolling boil briefly and pour into mug. Enjoy this home remedy, the heat on your throat will keep the cold virus from spreading, the honey and brandy will soothe the throat. The vitamin C will help your immune system. Heating on the stove instead of the microwave will insure that ingredients come to a boil, which changes the chemistry and hence the medicinal properties are extracted. The lemon rind with pith (white stuff) is very beneficial. It is rich in vitamin C and calcium. The pith also has a healing calming metallic element.
