Found a 3 way switch at canadian tire for 5$. So i started to make a housing for it so i could mount it bellow my seat pan.
Made a paper model to test the bracket and make sure everything worked nicely
Used the paper model as a template for the sheet metal

New Home for the bike

2010-10-17T12:27:00.000-07:00

Found a new home for the bike. I've been having difficulty finding some free time to work on the bike because of its previous location was too fare. Thanks to a couple of friends, they have agreed to let me use their spare basement room to make my own little workspace. I made a small work table with left over lumber. The new place is 10 mins away from my apartment so its an ideal location until i get a garage. As you can see the bike has gathered alot of dust at its old location.
Picked the CL450 exhaust for my bike. The muffler is rusted and is no good anymore, so the plan is to use the headers and extend them through the length of the bike.

Found this old helmet, The paint is pretty nice. It has a thick clear coat, so I plan to wet sand the scratches and puff its surface. The liner needs to be redone as well. Don't plan on riding with this helmet but it will make a cool novelty item.

final design for the cb500t

2010-08-21T15:48:00.000-07:00

I finally made up my mind of what i want the bike to look like once I'm done.

engine is done

2010-08-15T18:15:00.000-07:00

Finally found enough hardware and time to finish the engine. So fare i'm pleased with the way she looks. Aligning the chain took me a while to get right. Both marks on the cams and the LT mark on the alternator all lined up nicely. Lets see if she will fire up. Still need to rebuild the carbs. I've also painted the side alternator covers. I want to unbadge my bike, so i removed the honda logo. I figured I'd let people guess what kind of bike it is. Honda fans will know for sure. I'm just looking forward to the day that a guy who so called himself a "bike experts" tell me that its a Triumph or a Harley Davidson.

engine is coming along

2010-07-11T18:41:00.000-07:00

finally found the parts i needed to assemble to cylinder head to the engine. now whats left is to align the position of the cams so i can insert the master link to the chain.

the pistons are in !!!!

2010-06-18T12:15:00.001-07:00

Using the ring compressor i finally got the pistons in the block. Up next is installing the cylinder head and run the chain through the cams....... its gonna be fun

finally coming together

2010-06-17T19:10:00.001-07:00

After sandblasting the lower casing, I painted it with the wrinkle finish harley paint. Now its time to reassemble the engine so i can drop it in the frame and finish the electrical and eventually the bike.
