Cairo passed away suddenly last week. We are still in shock and don't quite have the words to describe it. She was playing outside with our daughter, galloping about happily, when she just collapsed and stopped breathing within minutes. It must have been a massive stroke because she was gone by the time we brought her to the vet.

She was the most sweet, loving creature and was such a fine gift to our family. We are so thankful for the joy and happiness she brought to our household. We will never forget her love, beauty and companionship.

Under the Weather

I just had surgery to remove a growth from my gums. Mommy hopes it is just hyperplasia or epulis. The doctor biopsied nine other growths in my mouth. They will tell us what they are in about five days. They also removed a mole thing from my leg. I think I'm still drugged up from the anesthesia. At least I'm back home and on my couch.

Having Fun in the Summer

In the early evening, this couple of wild rabbits hang out in the green belt outside my door. I would love to burst through the screen door and chase after them, but my Daddy won't let me.

So, instead I rest on my nice comfy bed and try to stay cool.

Sometimes I flip my ears up into weird positions all by myself.

But my favorite position is with a pillow. It really supports my neck muscles.

Sorry I've been away for awhile, but I've been on official business. Will tell later.

This is Daddy's mint plant. I love to eat it. The other day I ate the entire thing and then puked it up an hour later. I came in the house smelling like peppermint and he knew right away. He shook his finger at me. Apparently he was harvesting that plant for summer mojitos.

Yesterday night my mommy and daddy took me to my grandparents' house. I played with Max, we ate dinner and they even baked me a cake! My grandma only had three candles left in her cupboard (I actually turned four yesterday) so that's all I got. But the cake was so yummy! Max and I really enjoyed it!

Happy Times Are Here Again

This week I'm at my grandparents' house. I get to spend all my days and nights with my buddy Max! We've been playing non-stop. Here are we pretty tired.

I love car rides. Here is my grandpa driving me somewhere.

They are cleaning the roof, gutters and chimneys at my house - so my parents sent me to my grandparents' place for the week. They didn't want me roaming around the backyard while workmen were flinging soot from the roof.

Here Max and I topped off a fun-filled day of playtime with a romantic candlelight dinner.

"Sasha and Malia," Obama said in his victory speech at Chicago's Grant Park, "I love you both so much, and you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House."

Daddy was watching the presidential debate last week. Ugh, so boring. I don't want to watch that crap. I just want to have fun. I can't wait until we start watching Animal Planet again. I hope this election stuff is over soon so we can go back to playing frisbee and taking lots of walks.

Boy, How Times Flies

Hey, everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. My Mommy has been very busy since she started her new high school teaching job. My Daddy has still been taking lots of pictures of me but lately I'm either lounging or asleep in all of them.

I've been up to all my usual activities - walking with Mommy, playing frisbee with Daddy, being a couch potato and watching tv. I'm just living the boxer life.

My buddy Max got fixed two weeks ago. I'm not allowed to play with him for another week until he's better. I'm not sure what was wrong with him. I don't think he needed fixing.

Labor Day Weekend

It was extraordinarily humid last weekend. The thunderstorms in the desert left us with some icky, sticky weather. My mommy and daddy have been using the fan quite frequently. I love standing in front of the magic wind machine because it's the best way to cool off.

Once I'm properly cooled off I curl up on the couch with my favorite pillow. Have I mentioned I love pillows?

I love going for car rides. Sometimes I sneak in the car when my parents are not looking and I hope they'll take me with them wherever they are going. If I'm lucky my parents will strap me in the backseat with my special seatbelt and take for me a drive.
