I have a quick evaluation for how to build a real-time pub/sub messaging system like PubNub, there are several packages available:

RabbitMQ: Robust messaging for applications written in Erlang.
ZeroMQ: The Intelligent Transport Layer powered by C++.
Drb: dRuby is a distributed object system for Ruby. It is written in pure Ruby and uses its own protocol. No add-in services are needed beyond those provided by the Ruby runtime, such as TCP sockets.
Socket.IO: Socket.IO aims to make realtime apps possible in every browser and mobile device, blurring the differences between the different transport mechanisms. It's care-free realtime 100% in JavaScript.
FAYE: Faye is a publish-subscribe messaging system based on the Bayeux protocol. It provides message servers for Node.js and Ruby, and clients for use on the server and in all major web browsers.
ActiveMQ: is the most popular and powerful open source messaging and Integration Patterns server written in Java.

Should i buy iPhone 5 or waiting for next bigger screen iPhone?

I don't like iPhone5's new connector, it is not compatible with my JBL speaker. but my iPhone 4 become slow and slow, the home button is not working sometimes. so i Jail-broke my iPhone only for get Activator works, it allow me use Slide Gesture go to switcher and back to home while physical home button unresponsive.

The most useful apps for me on iPhone is process email, read PDF book, Stuck in Weibo, Instagram, Flipboard, other social reading apps and Evernote, a few times play game like sudoku.

I really need one big high resolution screen like Galaxy Note2, Galaxy 4S, but Android is not my favor.

iPad mini is not good to carry, you can not put it into pocket. both iPad mini and iPad are for use at home.

Will iPhone release 5 inch screen version like Galaxy S 4? mobile really become life companion.

如何做好技术布道

提供技术布道的组织是多方面存在的，包括大学，培训机构，公司，兴趣小组等。从内容方面包含传统技术和新技术两类。本文将结合作者多年的实际经验，就如果做好兴趣小组的新技术布道和大家分享一些经验。因为新技术在初期阶段，国内的大学和培训机构往往反应滞后，没有相关的开发课程培养社会需要的人才。如Ruby，iOS，Android等，这些技术在初期都是由公司和兴趣小组在推动。

解决问题

一项新技术的诞生一般都是为了解决某方面的问题，如Ruby on Rails是为了解决在使用Java建设网站项目时，代码量大，配置繁冗，部署复杂，开发时间长等问题。Git相对SVN来讲，则是具备分支成本低，分布式，以及传输速度快等优点。所以了解新技术的特点，以及明确使用它会解决使用者哪方面的问题至关重要。

发现目标

这里的目标是指目标技术和目标人群。一般目标技术是由兴趣小组中，尝试过新技术并从中获得实惠的人提出，向大家展示成功案例和分享经验，以及学习使用这门新技术的难易程度，开发工具，生态系统等。目标人群就是那些还在感受痛苦和烦恼的，并积极寻找方法寻求改变的人。

培养兴趣

通过一些Demo Show展示这项技术的应用实例，甚至代码对比，以培养学习者的兴趣，和增强对该技术的信心。观看介绍视频，如使用Ruby on Rails 15分钟建立Blog系统，5分钟使用Nodejs建立一个聊天室。然后鼓励学习者自己体验，并开发出作品。在学习使用过程中逐渐深入了解，对比传统实现方法的优劣，从而愿意付出更多的时间切换到新技术。

沟通平台

良好的沟通平台和社区氛围对于技术布道有非常大的促进作用。沟通平台一般可以分为线下和线上。线下有小组见面会议, 技术大会等，这些非常有利与面对面的沟通，但有着地域场地时间等限制。线上平台对技术布道会提供更大的帮助，如Blog，论坛，社交网络，QQ群，邮件组等。作者在2006年初就建立了国内Ruby on Rails论坛，第一时间帮助了大量初学者，也收获颇多。由于社交网络平台的发展，近期我们还组织了Google+ Events，并进行Google+ Hangout，效果不错。

提高效率

验证新技术是否成功的标准之一是它有没有为团队带来生产力的提升。更少的代码实现相同的功能必然会加快团队的开发效率，让用户通过手机等移动设备就能使用传统计算机上使用的服务，也必然会增加产品用户群和提升用户活跃度。只要新技术为团队带来了研发，或市场等某方面的效率提升，一定会促进团队更长时间的使用它。

获得快乐

在当下开放的互联网时代，新技术发展也更加迅猛。中国越来越多的技术人员，在使用新技术获得实惠的同时，也开始使用Github, Google Code等平台参与到开源项目中，贡献自己的智慧。分享获得快乐。

Some tips for using PhoneGap & Sencha Touch 2 build mobile app

We recently build an HTML5 mobile app for website client, will deploy to apple store and android play store, here is some tips for develop mobile app with Sencha Touch 2 and PhoneGap 1.4.1.

Sencha Touch2 is good framework to build HTML5 mobile app.
PhoneGap is good to deploy app to ios and android, even windows phone, symbian, blackberry, webos and bada.
Do not trust android simulator, sometimes the App works fine in ios simulator and iPhone, but doesn't work in Android phone.
Android browser do not support JSON.parse() call that had a null parameter.
Android 2.x doesn't support SVG, that means you can not use Google Charts API in android app, even it running good in ios. but Google Charts Image works.
Sencha Touch beta 2 build doesn't work for me on mac os x 10.7.3.
You will need different device to test deploy to different platform.

There are something you can't missing in Nanshan district of Shenzhen China, the one of them is CHAIHUO MAKER SPACE (柴火创客空间). if you want to be entrepreneur for your own Start-up, you could meet some people interesting in your project there, find collaborators, marketer working together get the project done. Thanks Michelini get me there yesterday night, he is one guy speaking English but love to use Weibo, has a tablet translator to read Chinese, funny.

Yesterday was the first SZ Team Startup Tuesday Meetings of Chinese Dragon Year, Michelini want to make the meet up weekly, i hope this will make Shenzhen start-up community active. Haegwan Kim bring his startup platform Lifecraft, this platform focus on collaboration for beginning start-up projects, to help entrepreneur get contributors work together, and feedback. i thought it's a stackoverflow and basecamp mashup, but have CONTEXT on user profile, let entrepreneur easy to find contributor to get wishes done.

CHAIHUO has lot's of event allow free to join, another meeting organized by Shenzhen DIY Lab (深圳DIY实验室) every Thursday. Free party, Open source! It worse to go when you have ideas and live in Shenzhen.

Time is fast, 2011 is gone, 2012 is coming. In the past year, i spent more and more time on Twitter, Path and other social apps with iPhone, less time on Blogger, but i still remember this is my blog, my friends and readers may expect something here, so i come back here say Happy new year to everyone.

There's one thing i'm proud to mention we've done in 2011, It's Jetlun cloud portal, an Smart Energy and Home automation system, here is a screenshot for dashboard.

How to migrate Linode from Dallas to Tokyo?

Open a ticket request migrate linode instance to Tokyo
Linode customer service will reply the ticket notice your IP address will change, if this is acceptable, Linode will configure migration to Tokyo.
Log into Linode Manager, shut down, and click the migrate button to move to new server, it will take several hours move data from Dallas to Tokyo datacenter.
Boot linode instance
Setup network from "Remote Access" in Linode Manager, here you have to use command "ifconfig -a" see if your eth0 changed to eth1, then setup:
/etc/resolv.conf, update nameserver to DNS resolvers in Remote Access interface
/etc/network/interface, setup eth0 or eth1.
Update dns record to new IP.

1.250定律

拉德认为：每一位顾客身后，大体有250名亲朋好友。如果您赢得了一位顾客的好感，就意味着赢得了250个人的好感；反之，如果你得罪了一名顾客，也就意味着得罪了250 名顾客。在你的网站访客中，一个访客可能可以带来一群访客，任何网站都有起步和发展的过程，这个过程中此定律尤其重要。

2.达维多定律

达维多认为，一个企业要想在市场上总是占据主导地位，那么就要做到第一个开发出新产品，又第一个淘汰自己的老产品。国内网站跟风太严重，比如前段时间的格子网，乞讨网，博客网，一个成功了，大家一拥而上。但实际效果是，第一个出名的往往最成功，所以在网站的定位上，要动自己的脑筋，不是去捡人家剩下的客户。同理，买人家出售的数据来建站效果是很糟糕的。

3.木桶定律

水桶定律是指，一只水桶能装多少水，完全取决于它最短的那块木板。这就是说任何一个组织都可能面临的一个共同问题，即构成组织的各个部分往往决定了整个组织的水平。注意审视自己的网站，是速度最糟糕？美工最糟糕？宣传最糟糕？你首先要做的，不是改进你最强的，而应该是你最薄弱的。

4.马太效应

《新约》中有这样一个故事，一个国王远行前，交给三个仆人每人一锭银子，吩咐他们："你们去做生意，等我回来时，再来见我。"国王回来时，第一个仆人说："主人，你交给我们的一锭银子，我已赚了10锭。"于是国王奖励他10座城邑。第二个仆人报告说："主人，你给我的一锭银子，我已赚了5锭。" 于是国王例奖励了他5座城邑。第三个仆人报告说："主人，你给我的一锭银子，我一直包在手巾里存着，我怕丢失，一直没有拿出来。"于是国王命令将第三个仆人的一锭银子也赏给第一个仆人，并且说："凡是少的，就连他所有的也要夺过来。凡是多的，还要给他，叫他多多益善。"这就是马太效应。在同类网站中，马太效应是很明显的。一个出名的社区，比一个新建的社区，更容易吸引到新客户。启示是，如果你无法把网站做大，那么你要做专。作专之后再做大就更容易。

5.手表定理

手表定理是指一个人有一只表时，可以知道现在是几点钟，而当他同时拥有两只表时却无法确定。一个网站，你只需要关注你特定的用户群需求。不要在意不相干人的看法。

6.不值得定律

不值得定律：不值得做的事情，就不值得做好不要过度seo，如果你不是想只做垃圾站。不要把时间浪费在美化再美化页面，优化再优化程序，在你网站能盈利后，这些事情可以交给技术人员完成。

7.彼得原理

劳伦斯.彼得认为：在各种组织中，由于习惯于对在某个等级上称职的人员进行晋升提拔，因而雇员总是趋向于晋升到其不称职的地位。不要轻易改变自己网站的定位。如博客网想变门户，盛大想做娱乐，大家拭目以待吧。

8.零和游戏原理

当你看到两位对弈者时，你就可以说他们正在玩"零和游戏"。因为在大多数情况下，总会有一个赢，一个输，如果我们把获胜计算为得1分，而输棋为-1分，那么，这两人得分之和就是：1+（-1）=0不要把目光一直盯在你的竞争网站上，不要花太多时间抢它的访客。我们把这些时间用来寻找互补的合作网站，挖掘新访客。

9.华盛顿合作规律

华盛顿合作规律说的是：一个人敷衍了事，两个人互相推诿，三个人则永无成事之日。如果你看准一个方向，你自己干，缺人手就招。不要轻易找同伴一起搞网站，否则你会发现，日子似乎越过越快了，事情越做越慢了。

10.邦尼人力定律

一个人一分钟可以挖一个洞，六十个人一秒种却挖不了一个洞。合作是一个问题，如何合作也是一个问题。你需要有计划。

11.牛蛙效应

把一只牛蛙放在开水锅里，牛蛙会很快跳出来；但当你把它放在冷水里，它不会跳出来，然后慢慢加热，起初牛蛙出于懒惰，不会有什么动作，当水温高到它无法忍受的时候，想出来，但已经没有了力气。如果你是soho，注意关注你的财务。不要等到没钱了再想怎么挣，你会发现那时候挣钱更难。

12.蘑菇管理

蘑菇管理是许多组织对待初出茅庐者的一种管理方法，初学者被置于阴暗的角落（不受重视的部门，或打杂跑腿的工作），浇上一头大粪（无端的批评、指责、代人受过），任其自生自灭（得不到必要的指导和提携）。做网站毕竟要遭遇这样的阶段，搜索引擎不理你，友情链接找不到，访客不上门。这是磨练。

13.奥卡姆剃刀定律

如无必要，勿增实体。把网站做得简单，再简单，简单到非常实用，而不是花俏。google的首页为什么比雅虎好？

14.巴莱多定律(Paredo 也叫二八定律)

你所完成的工作里80%的成果，来自于你20%的付出；而80%的付出，只换来20%的成果。随时衡量你所做的工作，哪些是最有效果的。

Yes, this is not a rumor, after discussed with my partner, i resigned Bindo Labs yesterday, which i co-founded since May 2010, an HK-registered Start-up Company focused in International e-Commercial Market. I really hated it's not being public by 11 months development. Why i left, i'm getting super tired and we lack of communication beside New York and Shenzhen, i'm not happy to work with people do not respect each others. Actually Bindo.com is being online private beta for several months, and i think it will be public soon, best wishes!

In the past few years, i lead development team make ideas happen, and we had an operation team to promote it. Now i like small ideas much more, which can be implemented in 3 months, I don't know what I'm going to do next, I'll make my own small ideas come true, take some time off stay with my family before I start job hunting.
