Hey girls, sorry for no update in a while. Last week, I was redoing my whole room (packing, painting, the works) and then I went to buy new furniture and then school started. Can we say: Hectic? Yes well I will update very, very soon. School just started today and I already have a paper to write. Hopefully none of you guys have given up hope on my updates. I'll try to come back with so many more updates ASAP! In the meantime, post a comment on this blog about what you want to read more about. Following MAC's Cult of Cherry, Overrich is rich in color. The colors are available for a limited time only.

Tip #4: Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer to save on heating and cooling costs.

Tip #5: If you eat meat, add one meatless meal a week. Meat costs a lot at the store-and it's even more expensive when you consider the related environmental and health costs. Now, I am not telling you to change your whole diet, though eating less pork and beef would help you loose weight, but at least one meatless meal a week would be something new from the same-old lame-old, right?

Tip #6: Donate or recycle your cell phones, computers, and other electronic appliances responsibly when the time comes. E-waste contains mercury and other toxics and is a growing environmental problem. If the electronics end up in land fill, the appliance will release the mercury causing the soil to become contaminated. Now, is that really what we want?

Product Review: NYC Waterproof Eyeliner

CVS is less than 2 minutes away from my house and I love it! Today, a good friend of mine needed to get something from there and she asked if I wanted to tag along. Of course my answer was yes because I absolutely love the makeup and hair products aisle. I wanted to get a plum shaded eyeliner. That was my mission for today. I've worn black eyeliner for many years. It gets a bit old after a while. Well, let me tell you, my friend and I went around the cosmetics aisle about 20 times trying to find the right plum eyeliner. What I wanted was a fat plum shaded pencil. We found a few fat pencils, but they didn't have plum as a shade. When we found a fat purple pencil from Rimmel London, it was too light so I put it back. The right shade was the one in NYC but since it was sealed with plastic, I couldn't open it to see if it was too thin. The pencil itself looked like the tip would be thin. After looking at other plum shades, I ended up getting the NYC Waterproof Eyeliner, and boy am I happy I didn't reconsider. This shade is perfect and its fat, just how I like it. Well, since I started to use it, I might as well post a review on it.

Product Review: NYC Waterproof Eyeliner

What is it: A not too fat, not too thin waterproof eyeliner. (shade: smoky plum)

Pros: Waterproof, bold color, smooth application, great staying power, cheap

Cons: not retractable, but that's not too important

Overall: I would recommend this to everyone! The color is bold and I love how smooth it just glides on. It's way better than my Eyeslicks by Cover Girl which has a bit of a chalky consistency. And best of all, it's cheap and it does what it's supposed to do.

Price: $3.99 a stick

Product Review: Origins Smileage Plus™ Liptint

What is it: Origins Smileage Plus Liptint is a 95% Organic Lip Tint. The one I bought is in Eco-Pink. I love the cute name. The color is really pretty and really pink.

Pros: Color, glides on smoothly, stays on for a good 2 hours before re-apply, ORGANIC

Cons: I really don't like the smell. It's like a blend of cheap makeup and Palmolive Floor Cleaning Liquid. Also, you have to re-apply every 2 hours or so.

Overall: Everyone should try an be eco-friendly and starting with liptint is a great first step. This lip tint comes in five different shades so theres one for every personality.

Price: $10.00 a piece won't hurt your wallet at all.

Tip #1: When going out to shop for new beauty products or even grocery shopping, bring a cute tote bag with you. Use it to put all your items that you just bought so those disposable bags won't have to be used.

Tip #2: Try to unplug every unused appliance. You may think that since it's not in use, it's not wasting electricity. Can we say: BIG MISCONCEPTION? Yes girls, when your curling iron is plugged in but isn't being used, it's still costing you.

Tip #3: To conserve water, try limiting your showers from 15 minutes to 10 minutes. Or, if you're shaving, turn the shower head off and then when you're done you can turn it back on. Baths are always nice too.

Night Look: Red&Black

This is my first makeup tutorial. Hope it turns out okay =) !

Okay, the brands of the colors I used does not matter because both colors are from cheap makeup kits.

You will need:
- Maroon/Dark Red Eyeshadow
- Black Eyeshadow
- Full-Lid Eyeshadow Brush (I used Essence of Beauty's Dual Brush)
- Crease Eyeshadow Brush (I used Essence of Beauty's Dual Brush)
- Liquid Eyeliner
- Pencil Eyeliner (I used Maybelline's Unstoppable Liner in Onyx)
- Mascara (I used Clinique's High Impact Mascara in Black)
- Eyeshadow Primer (I used Smashbox's Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer in 6.0)

Steps:

Take your primer and put it on both eye lids.
Take the Dark Red/Maroon color and put it all over the lid only with the eyeshadow brush.
Take your crease brush and dip it into the black eyeshadow. Put the color on the crease only.
Start to blend a tiny "v" at the beginning of the eye. (look at the first picture)
Take a dry facial tissue and take off some of the black.
Take the crease brush and blend the black eyeshadow if too dark. (use small circle motions)
Take your liquid eyeliner and line the top lash line.
Take your pencil eyeliner and line the inner bottom lash line.
Take your mascara and put on two coats. Wait 30 seconds in between each coat.
Take the same facial tissue and take off the excess Dark Red/Maroon color.
Take the brush and line the bottom lash line so you see a faint red line.

You're done! Hope you have fun with this Dark Red/Maroon look at night!

I Never Thought That I'd Get Hit By This Lovebug Again

If you're a Jonas Brothers fan, like me, then you would know that line (in the title) is from their song Lovebug (which is on their new CD). Today, I made my mom take me to Target to get the new Jonas Brothers CD. No, I am not some Disney Channel loving, bratty little kid like most of their fan base. I love their music because the lyrics make sense to me and I have stuck with them since their first single, Mandy. Unlike their other "fans" who found them off of Disney Channel. I really hate when people call themselves "JoBro Haters" because they think JB is gay and a guy band version of Miley Cyrus- who I in fact do not like.

Okay, well after running to the CD section with a friend to get their new CD, I immediately said to go to the makeup section. I love Target and I love that it is evolving greatly in their brands that they're selling. I found Keihl's there today! Not much was there but it will grow. A very close friend of mine is in love with the Keihl's line. I actually do love one of their products. It's their Lip Balm in Original. I love that the whole line is against testing on animals and the balm has SPF included. Also, the price won't put a hole in your pocket as it prices for $6.50 ea. Today, I didn't see the Lip Balm at Target, but Keihl's is available at Macy's and Nordies, so go and get one for yourself! I promise, you won't be dissatisfied.

Oh, and before I leave, remember to pop into your local K-Mart, Walmart, Target, or any other store that sells CDs to purchase your own Jonas Brothers CD. Most of the songs on the CD are really good to listen to. And the CD Tray (where the CD goes) and the cardboard that holds everything together is made from 100% recycled Plastic/Paper with at least 35% post consumer material! The Jonas Brothers are not only trying to change music, but are trying to save the world at the same time!

No, I am not talking about some auction. The title is about me. I really thought that I would stick to this blog as a daily thing. But once again, I failed. I was on a roll and then I just got lazy. Well girls, I happy to say that I'm back!

Today, I asked my mom if she would take me to our local CVS. The cosmetics side is my second home away from home. As much as I love Macy's and Nordies, I have to stay with my budget. It's pretty hard when all those other labels are just calling your name. Yes, I do in fact talk to my cosmetics .. don't you?

Well, back to CVS ; I got makeup and one new brush. The brush is by essence of Beauty. I've heard a lot of good stuff about this line and I was not disappointed when I tried it out. It's a dual brush with an all-over-the-lid brush on one side and a crease brush on the other. The price was amazing at $5.99 a piece! Though I should warn you, even though the brush does not have too much fallout, washing it in lukewarm water would not be a bad idea.

On to other things that I bought. Well, two other things. My mom was a bit fussy about spending over $20 -_-. I bought the Cover Girl trublend, in 5, because during the winter time, my skin gets as dry as a chalkboard. The liquid makeup should make it look more hydrated. I tried it on my skin and at first it was like white paint on my skin and then when i started to blend with my foundation brush, the color started to blend into my skin. Also, when I went back to my wrist to get some more (I put some color on my wrist and go back there to build up if needed) some of the color had already blended into my skin.

The last item that I purchased was another Cover Girl product. It's called CG eyeslicks in Cream Shadow. I was hoping this would be comparable to MAC's shade sticks. The fat pencil claims to be a "gel stick." I think gel is the wrong word. Chalk stick would be more appropriate for this product as that is exactly how it comes out- chalky. I might go back to CVS to return it but then again, I might not. The product is good for lining my inner rims to make my eye look bigger. But, what I really wanted it to do was act as a primer for eyeshadow. The color does not even come out when I put it on my eyes. Instead, shimmery/glittery stuff shows.

Oh, and if some of you are worried that I won't stick with this site, don't worry, I will beat my laziness and come on as often as I can. This site will become my new hobby and it will stick with me for a very long time.

Daily Routines

For everyone in the world, a daily routine is necessary. It helps them get through the day better. I have one routine that I try to stick with. No, it's not exercising.. though I wish that was it. It's my morning and night face cleansing routine. I have Combination Skin in the summer and Dry Skin (not flaky) in the winter, but the routine is same throughout the whole year. The first thing I do after I get up in the morning is go to the bathroom. Hopefully, I share this quality with all of you. Okay, so for my routine, I use five products. It might seem a lot to some of you and for others, it might seem too little. But, five products is more than enough for me. Taking care of my skin is very important to me so I try to use products that will help my skin and not ruin it.

First, I use Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap in Mild.

Then, I take a cotton ball and saturate one side of it with Clinique's Clarifying Lotion in II

With the third & fourth products I mix them together because my moisturizer does not have SPF included. My moisturizer is Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion and the SPF comes from Coppertone's Sport Lotion Ultra Sweatproof with SPF 30.

The final product I use is Clinique's All About Eyes. Because the cream should be used sparingly, I apply it with a cotton swab.

I really trust Clinique products with my skin. So far, it has only done good. Many people hate their Liquid Facial Soap because it makes their skin too dry. Honestly, this has never happened to me and I have been using this product for a year now. When all three products (the first three products are part of a 3-step set) are used together, you skin becomes lighter and clearer. My skin is usually clear but there are times when I get random spots. Thats when its time to add a new product to the routine. For spot treatment I like to use Clean and Clear's Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. It works wonders with the spots. The redness goes away so quickly and it takes less time for the spot to vanish. Now, I am not saying that the spot treatment is going to make the spot, or pimple (I hate using that word. It sounds so ugly), go away overnight. No product can do that. But what the treatment will do is reduce the size of the spot and reduce the time it takes for the spot to go away. What are your daily morning/night routines?

Well, the most important thing you should know about me is that i am IN LOVE with makeup. It might be a tiny bit weird and might make me sound like a "girly-girl," but that is just who i am. Although I have been wanting to make a blog for so very long, the one thing that has been stopping me was an effort to make a commitment. I don't really stay too committed to many sites.
