Calderdale Pride are really excited that we are only two days away X-factor finalist Johnny Robinson will be performing at this years event. Johnny has rocked week after week with his fantastic performances and he is amazing entertainment, and is one not to be missed. Johnny Robinson will be headlining the day's celebrations, with our fantastic artists; Valentino King, O'hooley & Tidow, Chasing Dragons, Whiter Than, Precilla, singer songwriter Darren Smith, and Calderdale Pride's Got Talent winner. Calderdale Pride have many attractions this year including information stands and stalls ranging from cup cakes to jewellery and accessories, as well as children's entertainment fairground rides, circus skills and poetry by Dominic Berry. The organisers are delighted to announce that top quality food including Thai food, Hog roast, fish and chips and Panini's will be available throughout the day with reasonable prices. Bar Provision on the day will be provided by Outbar Events, a new supporter of Calderdale Pride and with an excellent bar tariff (alcohol will be only permitted from the onsite, you can't take alcohol into the Halifax Piece hall due to health as safety regulations). Group Joint Chair Kirk Hopewell said: Calderdale Pride has been innovative after four years, going from a small musical event in to a large festival-style celebration of diversity of Calderdale's community, welcoming all, with attractions and entertainment for all tastes. Hoping that all the people of Calderdale, whatever their background will embrace this event'. The day doesn't stop at the Piece Hall as celebrations will continue in to the night with an after party at The Imperial Crown Hotel opposite the Halifax train station, with Our Guest DJ Lady Heidi, wrist bands will be available from the Calderdale Pride stall on the day . Calderdale Pride 201 takes place at the Halifax Piece Hall on Saturday 16th June from noon till 7pm.

Kirk Hopewell, Treasurer & Joint Chair was delighted to invite Michael Smith from The West Yorkshire Area Committee of the Co-Operative to our committee meeting yesterday, Calderdale Pride were very grateful on receiving a Cheque for £700.00 as this will be utilised to aid Calderdale Pride on the 16th June 2012.

Chicago's on Commercial Street, Halifax. Have commenced there GLAM night every Wednesday the launch on the 16th may was a huge success. There was a fantastic atmosphere with great acts on stage and plenty of music, dancing, with brilliant bar prices. It was just like the good old Wednesday

Pride's got Talent Final

70's night proves to be a roaring success!

In conjunction with Stop Hate UK, Calderdale Pride held it's first fundraiser of the year, Bar Eleven turned retro for the night and grooved to the sounds of the 70's with a night of music and live performance.

70’s night organiser, Gary Kirkland said: “A massive thank you to everyone who supported us in raising an incredible £800 towards good causes. The night was a huge success which really exceeded our expectations”.
