I am already hungry, I have not eaten much since yesterday, I have kept my belly full with iced tea, and now, I am ready to go, this is going to be my year!

In the photo, you see the area where the event will take place, at the corner of Buck and Echols, a block from my office here at the towne centre. Once the day is done, I will come back and update this article, and start bragging about my victory, or, I guess in the off chance I don’t win, whining about my defeat, either way, there will be a gallery of photos, taken by Doug Box, see ya then!

(UPDATE) No, I didn’t win, I mean I was not even close! Heck, the loser of the girls 12 and under had better times than I did, I looked like I was trying to eat a brick with jelly on it, I was pitiful! When they finally said someone had won, I was actually relieved, so was the guy sitting to my right, hopefully those pics will be here later, so you can see just how awful of a job I did! In do have some pics that I took, they are the top gallery. No, I’m not in that one, we’ll see if Doug Box got any pics with me in it, I kind of hope not, I don’t want anyone to see the look of defeat on my face!

Here is the best part, this outside patio has a mist cooler, and yes, it really works, if you look at the photo. you will see the fan, that is how it works, the mist sprays and the fan blows it, this makes for a much cooler outdoors.

If that is not cool enough for you, K’s Cafe inside has plenty of room for you and your whole family to cool off and get what I believe are the best burgers in town! I love that Jalapeno Burger! I know that the menu is changing, see the photo,  but I sure hope that one stays.

With all of the beer available, or pivo, as they call it around here, bathrooms will be in demand, and the local businesses have signs posted that they do not offer “public” toilets, in other words, buy the next piv from them! Hey, not a bad deal when ya gotta go!

So, the night before I took a few pictures to show you the contrast from today. This one at the top, shows the only vendor here at the time, my how things change, the picture from this morning shows a completely different story.
The Kolache Festival is an event that everyone here in Caldwell looks forward to, each and every year for the last 26 years, it brings in people from everywhere, not just the surrounding towns, and cities, but from across the country as well, so, if you missed this year, put it on the calendar for next year, you will enjoy it.
