My "creative spirit" needs nourishment in order to survive. I cannot create anything, whether it be watercolors, ATC cards, or anything written without encouragement and food for thought, and heart. My head cannot see something great and then relay it to my hands or words unless there is a connection. The move we have made from Florida to California has drained me. Too many details and

Marty and I have been flirting with fate in this month of February. Marty fell three times this month. The latest was today. In the kitchen. Earlier in the week, she fell in the livingroom, and before that in the guest bedroom. Fortunately, no serious injuries to date. In the meantime, I continue to cough, losing my breath and tiring me out. Who said the 70's were great?

Moving day looms nearby, In mid-December, winter's sky;Clouds float o'er, this Florida house,And, clear blue heavens, await out west. Here I sing of tropic pleasures,Lakes, and rivers, gulf bay fishes;Mountains surrounded by desert sands,There, lift my voice in hallelujahs. This peninsula, hot and humid,Threatening hurricanes, and alligators; While California shakes and bakes,My songs praise God,

Gobble, gobble all you happy people out there. Watching the Green Bay/Detroit Lions game and wishing it was more interesting. It is great outside our door here in Florida, 75 degrees. I am so thankful for my family, Marty and Lacey and the rest of my extended family. Also, I'm grateful for knowing Jesus and a loving God.We are so blessed here even with all the ups and downs. Right now we have

I am surrounded by cooler temps and it is wonderful! Going to be about 75 today. Low humidity, too. The weather pumps me up to create more art. Acrylics, oils, watercolors, ATC's, or anything. Difficult to work however, due to all my supplies are packed in boxes, taped shut for the big move in December. Hey, when your a senior you start packing early because it takes you longer. One bright

I believe challenges can force us to push ourselves to be more creative, more sensitive to inspiration Where do you go to be inspired?  This collage has many aspects that I love. It has recycling, environmental concerns, lots of color and patterns and something different, A Flash Mob.

"Are my eyes crossed?" I said to my other half. Our home is now rented Jan. thru March so that means we will have to be moved out by then. We are leaving some furniture and dishes etc. for the snow birds. Hope they will enjoy our home and decide to buy it. One can hope!

Hi there artistic friends everywhere!Call it a Wish List or Bucket List, or maybe a To Do List, whatever. I'm making a Listand checking it twice, or maybe more to see how long it takes to come true.1). Go to a Certified Zentangle Training class so I can teach Zentangles with more artists This is held in Providence, R.I. 3-4 times a year. (Gotta enjoy making money teaching).2). Sell our home in

This past week we learned of the death of a good friend, Sally. She died after 6 some years from diagnosis of breast cancer. She was a good woman. Sally was generous, giving, loving, helpful and a hoot! With tongue in cheek she often made comments about the race known as humans. She notedhow much intelligence animals of all sizes have. She loved life and her partner of many years. She was an

This Altered Book I created is about more than the art or Pompeii or icons of music; It's about a time of social conscience. It's about myself and others living and surviving an unforgettable era..called Rock and Roll. In the years between 1950and 1980, some of us did it all: smoke pot, go bra less, be Flower children, wear tie dyed clothes, join hippies, live in communes. But, mostly we just

This gourd chose it's own decoration as I wood burned the natural lines, stained the gourd, used inks to color it , and laced it with leather.  Page one is the inspiration for a collage. Below, page two, I used watercolors for the background, added the crepe paper flower details and the words of inspiration. Speaking of Roses, I re-created this small purse which was plain green. I cut the rose

Welcome to Florida in the season of storms. The weather is co operating with a thunder storm this afternoon. We DO need this rain to quench our dry, parched land.I've been reading some other blogs of artists that I am in awe of like Lynne Perrella, among others. Oh my goodness, how I long to be so gifted. It does make me think, however. Where does the time go? I can relate to others who

Something personal for pet lovers who think of their pets as part of their family. My dog Lacey sits in our front window all day, and with her white hair everyone who goes by sees her, and sometimes, if too close, hears her bark. Some people have told me that they always go out of their way when leaving our manufactured home park just to see Lacey in the window. One woman even said she misses

Zentangle name is registered.A Zentangle can be started with or without a random drawn pencil line for inspiration.Zentangles are in many shapes, and none are ever mistakes. No erasers needed, they are what they are, a work of art.
