Create a Jungle atmosphere by hanging vines and jungle decorations from the ceiling or off branches out in the backyard. Step 2

Age Group: If you are planning a toddler birthday party, young children have a limited attention span so the activities need to be kept brief. The party should be planned around usual nap times. The whole party should be kept short, as the parents get tired of the constent watch. Older kids, ages six to nine are extremely curious and love discovering new things. You can easily get them involved in games and arts and crafts projects. As they are able to follow rules and understand instructions. an all boys party at this age can be a handfull, use caution and plan out their entire time; as things can easily get out of hand with this age group.

Toucan Puppet

Here is another superb foam hand puppet. This toucan puppet was crafted entirely out of foam. Extremely light weight and a joy to operate. with a ridiculously large beaks, these jungle birds are beautiful to look at. I did a performance at the San Francisco Zoo using this Toucan hand puppet recently, Toucan was the only animal puppet in the whole place. I don’t have a permanent voice for him yet, so I had him mainly complain with a nasal bird sound. Very funny puppet to perform with. The kids go wild about animal puppets. This jungle bird puppet can be used as a stage puppet or as a ventriloquist bird puppet. The eyes and the wings are actual foam cut outs. Rit dyed not airbrushed. Bird Puppet

Step 1.

First we sculpt the head in plastecine or oil based clay. This particular bird puppet head was made for a san jose halloween shoe. The head was sculpted as whitch. This was a custom puppet job.

Step 2.

We then cast the head in a plaster mold. After the mold is completely dry, then we pour rubber latex into the mold and let it dry completely. this process is repeated two to four times depending on the thichness desired and the type of latex used.

After the latex is completely dried, we pull it out of the mold and spray paint it as for the desired look.

Body, furr, feathers, eyes are all added to complete the puppet.

This is a brief tutorial on how the process works. Making latex head puppets is a ton of fun. It does have a learning curb and requires some supplies and quite a bit of patience. As each step to making a latex puppet requires a different set of skills. Sculpting, molding, casting, painting, dressing etc. but that’s what creativity is all about. Once you get all the technical stuff out of the way, that’s when the real fun starts. I hope this helps.

1. Timing:

Most parents like to schedual their kid’s first birthday party around their child’s nap and meal time. A two hour event is usually long enough to do all that’s needed for a first birthday party in this case. Increasingly though, I have seen more and more families throwing a much larger bach for a first birthday party. These are usually prolonged parties, serving meals, hiring entertainment and even renting party halls to hold the party. This a great way to share quality happy moments with your friends and family. Do not expect your baby to go through all of the activities. For an enjoyable time, try not to break your child’s routine of food, change and sleep. You may be extra busy, but your baby should come first. That should cut down on the level of stress to you and to your child. Designate a family member early on to help with this task. If your child is very attached to you, you should delegate some of the party tasks to friends and family. Your baby will look at you for comfort in this changed envirnment. It’s important that you stay calm, as your baby will sense any signs of stress in you and start to get fussy.

2. Party theme:

A party theme will help you organize your event more effetiently. A common Theme makes shopping for your event much easier, plus it adds a sense of harmony to your general party atmosphere.

3. Plan activities for the kids. Fun party games related to your theme. Hiring a professional kids’ entertainer will pay great divident.

4. Simple foods for the kids, like pizza and finger foods are usually more than enough. For adults, variety is the spice of life.

5. A slide show of your baby’s photos or video clips set to music is a great way to share the child’s first year of life with your guests. If that proves to be difficult, then a simple collage of printed pictures gluded onto a color poster board will do the trick. Hang the poster above where the cake cutting will take place. This a great way to share your baby’s development with your guests.

Check out this funny bird puppet. This baby bird hates eating worms for breakfast, it gives him bad breath. I use this bird puppet for shows at parents of multiples or mom’s clubs entertainment in the bay area. This bird puppet was constructed of foam and covered with feathers. This Berkeley resident puppet is afraid of catching bird flu. He only eats organic foods, and very environmentally conscious. bird puppets are a joy to use for kids puppet shows. The feathers add a lot of life and realism to the puppets and makes that much more animated for the audience.

Cow Hand Puppet

It’s cow puppet Theater time. Moo-Moo Cow lives in the city. Her cousin Moomita is in for a visit from the country. A contrast between country life on the open pasture and San Jose Silicon Valley life style. This funny puppet show was presented for a San Jose kids entertainment corporate event. This baby cow hand puppet was made of dyed foam and airbrushed for a final touch. A foam puppet is extremely light weight and very easy to work with in a puppet stage environment But not nearly as durable as a fur or cloth hand puppet. This hand cow puppet has been with for a long time though, it’s smaller size really helps it stay in good shape. This baby cow puppet is a favorite character amongst bay area kids, and is one of my favorite characters to use for kids birthday parties. I first introduced Moo-Moo at six flags discovery kingdom and Moo-Moo has stayed with me ever since. I will be posting a video with Moo-Moo the baby cow puppet very soon. Look for it. fabulous finger puppets

Check out these fabulous finger puppets. Each finger puppet was made entirely of dyed foam, then airbrushed with spray paint. I have distributed dozens of these finger puppets as party favors. I had a customer request for party supplies for a finger puppet party theme. We could not find quality finger puppets for kids, so we made our own. Finger foam puppets are a snug fit on the little fingers and can provide hours of fun play. They are amazingly durable. If the child likes their foam puppet, they safeguard it pretty good. I have been invited back after  two years to a birthday party, and the kids still had their finger puppet. I was amazed. It was a mouse finger puppet for the boy and a pink bunny puppet for the girl. I am going to make more of these and I will post some pictures. All the best!

Funny Duck Puppet

Have you ever been to a duck baby shower theme? Ducks are loved by adults and kids alike. This duck foam puppet was suggested by one of my customers as well. She went with a duck theme party. Complete with pool rubber ducky races and all. She had children’s duck themed birthday party invitations custom made. I also made these duck puppets as party favors for the kids to take home after the party. It was the best duck theme party that I have attended. Duck party supplies are plentifull, a simple google search for duck birthday party ideas or duck party supplies could yeild some good results.
