There is nothing in the Declaration of Independence that describes rights as contingent on citizenship. According to that document, individual rights are innate and unalienable; government, on the other hand, enjoys a contingent existence, and can be altered or abolished whenever it imperils those rights. In that scheme, the purpose of citizenship is to restrain the government, rather than to submit to its supposedly ennobling influence.

The FBI's Strategic Information and Operations Center (SOIC) posted a 'Request for Information (RFI)' online last week seeking companies to build a social network monitoring system for the FBI. The 12-page document (.pdf) spells out what the bureau wants from such a system and invites potential contractors to reply by February 10, 2012.

It notes that agents need to "locate bad actors...and analyze their movements, vulnerabilities, limitations, and possible adverse actions". It also states that the bureau will use social media to create "pattern-of-life matrices" -- presumably logs of targets' daily routines -- that will aid law enforcement in planning operations.

There were two men wearing solid black uniforms pointing M-16 at us as if we were criminals. One of the men turned around as he walked around the front of our Explorer and I could see the large lettering spelling out “DHS Police” on the back of his uniform. My wife started to shake as she put her hands on the dashboard while I slowly put my other hand on the steering wheel in plain sight. An officer wearing some sort of personal armor and high tech camera gear on his helmet walked up to the driver’s side window.

What does history teach us when governments bring the citizens to absolute subjugation by their diktats?

Your government has put you under the mercy, not of a moral and virtuous peoples who have a God given and unalienable right to protect themselves and their freedom and liberty, but... your government has put you under the mercy of immoral despots and criminals.

Do not be like this man later lamenting his plight in a gulag being abused and beaten by State enforcers who do so at behest of the State.And don't be like this man lamenting if they only would have used axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand ... to protect themselves.

Do you believe that the State, its enforcers, and the criminals they embolden, do not know that if you or a loved one are being abused, beaten to a pulp, murdered on any corner USA, that their gun laws have embolden this to happen? That their gun laws have prevented you from defending yourself and your loved ones when the only thing standing between you being abused, beaten to a pulp, or murdered is being unarmed by the State?

You don't think the State knows that by virtue of their gun laws, real criminals will ignore those gun laws, thereby leaving you unarmed against the armed criminal?

And why would a moral, virtuous government want citizens unarmed when it KNOWS that leaving moral and virtuous citizens unarmed invites brutality from criminals and a despotic State?

Why?

Lets be clear. Every gun law that prevents you from carrying a firearm and makes you a criminal for doing so, is but to train you to be in absolute submission to the enforcers of the State.

That is all that matters to the State. That you be in absolute subjugation to it and those who enforce absolute subjugation to it upon you.

Being 47 52 years old, I still remember hiding under my desk in grade school during mock nuclear attacks by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. I remember all too well the stories of KGB agents snooping on their citizens, invading their citizens’ homes late at night for questioning the authority of the “state” – whether real or imagined – dragging citizens out of their homes and sending them to the gulags to be compelled to confess to their alleged “crimes.”

Millions were simply just killed as “enemies of the state.” I remember the stories of how their citizens were routinely stopped at security check points, or just simply walking down the street and being compelled to show their “papers” and being searched. All this, and more, in the name of “state security.” I remember being told over and over again that because of all this, this was the reason why we were fighting the “Cold War” against the communists.

My, how things have changed. We have become an image of our old adversaries. In the name of “state security.” In the name of “freedom.” In the name of “liberty.” In the name of “safety.” In the name of the “Homeland.” In the name of “protecting the citizens.” In the name of the “STATE.” Destroying what last vestige is left of our Constitution … in order to save it?

Besides the liberties and freedoms that have been stolen from us since the “Civil War” (2nd American Revolution), more damage has been done to our Constitution in the past four years, than in all of my 47 …

So Mr. President, so Congress, so Senate, so Department of Homeland Security, so TSA, so DOD, so NSA, so all the other various alphabet agencies of the federal government and all state and local agencies feeding on the federal teats destroying the last vestige of our Constitution, eat this …

The time will come when that famous quote by the father of our Declaration of Independence shall come alive and become the rallying cry of Patriots who yearn to reclaim their rights, their lives, their liberty and their pursuit of happiness, unfettered by the yokes that you have placed upon us. Intruding where you ought not.

And if this be treason … if this be sedition … then so be it!

The original design of the American government was that the only "authority" the central government was to have was powers delegated to it by the free, independent, and sovereign states in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. All others are the responsibility of the people, respectively, and the states, according to the Tenth Amendment, which Thomas Jefferson considered to be the cornerstone of the document. These powers were delegated to the central government for the benefit of the sovereign states, who appointed the central government as their agent — mostly for issues regarding war and foreign policy — by adopting the Constitution. That's why treason is defined by the U.S. Constitution in Article 3, Section 3, as follows: "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in waging War against them, or adhering to their Enemies, and giving them Aid and Comfort . . ." As in all the founding documents, "United States" is in the plural, signifying that the free and independent states were united in delegating certain enumerated powers for their own mutual benefit. Thus, "waging War against them" means the states. Waging war against the free and independent states is what constitutes treason under the U.S. Constitution. That's why Lincoln's invasion of the Southern states was the very definition of Treason.
