We’ve met Sandy and Kemper, who are helping us through the showing of the Jesus film, and will be helping us in the future as we venture to Sudan. We have seen our dream of the orphanage come to life with the Foundation being laid for the first building!

For the first time, we have been training Ugandan church members in the Worship arts. Jay has been training the sound engineers in how to get better and more effective use from their equipment. Whitney and Mike have been working with the worship teams/ leaders in answering their many questions. One common theme has been how pastors and worship leaders can be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit During church services.

I had a wonderful birthday. Thank you for thinking of me and praying for me! The proprietors of our hotel purchased me a cake all the way from Kampala. It was coconut, and delicious! One of the churches we’ve been supporting and working alongside had a special garment, the traditional Ugandan dress called a Gomez, made for me as a birthday gift! Pray for Kenny- his birthday is the 18th. He will be an old man of 51! He will have a great responsibility seeing that the medical and dental ministry are successful for the Lord.

Once again, we love you, and we appreciate you and your prayers.

Love and kisses,
Me

Hi from the beautiful Paradise on the Nile in Jinja, Uganda!

God has been very busy showing us his love for these people, and once again I am in awe at the fact that He lets us play a part in it.

Monday the 13th I celebrate 48 years of life, and I begin a women’s conference with Kim and a new friend, Sandy. Please pray for the women as we share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for Ken as he’ll be leading pastor conferences and crusades in the surrounding villages. God is so using him. Today as he preached, I was in awe of how God’s word is just so alive when it’s preached through him. He’s my favorite preacher. He says I’m his favorite preacher’s wife, so I guess it’s a mutual respect for each other.

Please pray specifically for Kim as she leads the conference, and her husband Gary (she is Gary lonesome!). Hi to Crosspoint Church- we love you and are grateful for your support.

It was suggested to me by my new friend Whitney that instead of receiving birthday gifts this year, I ask friends and family to consider making a donation to Call To Africa. Would you consider showing your love for me, and the people of Africa this year in this special way? Nothing would make me happier!

We love you and we miss you. We trust you are praying for us!

Hugs and kisses,
Me

What a gifted teacher! The african couple is Josephine and Emmanuel. They pastor the church the conference was at. They are truly beautiful people, and it was such a blessing partnering with them!

The last pictures are from a slum we visited in Kampala. The residents are IDP’s from Northern Uganda who fled after attacks from Joseph Kony and the LRA. We were there to minister to a group of widows who all suffer from HIV/AIDS, and we are hoping to partner with them and bring doctors and aid next year. We also have started supporting them through buying necklaces/ jewelry.

The last photo is of Renate with our new friends and partners, Simon and Aggie.

Hello my friends!

Your prayers are touching Kampala at the present time. We taught our women’s conference yesterday with Kim as our lead teacher, but I really believe we didn’t tap into the women, even though the pastor’s wife said we did, I did not feel the connection. Ther is a heaviness this Thursday morning in my heart. I am going to ask that some of you set aside an hour to fast and pray. We need that covering!

We visit our 17 AIDS widows in the morning. Please pray for us. Pictures should be up in several days.

Love and kisses, me.

They have nothing, no health care, no education, no clean water, no significant Bible preaching church in the area. So after meeting with them in a town hall gathering I told them I would come back and tell the story but if we were going to give then they would have to give as well. The chief then stood up and pointed in 4 directions and gave us a significant piece a land with acrerage enough to build a church, clinic, school and water purification system. My goal is to get them a water purification machine on this site before the end of 2009. I need your help, $20,000.

I wll carry a team of pastors, evangelist, and laymen in October of 2009 to conduct an evangelistic campaign and pastor’s conference to build up and set up the pastor and church leaders for success in this 4 acres donated to us for the purpose of planting a church. Pastor Norman Schaeffer is discipling the pastor, and he is the one who has asked me to raise a team and resources to go. He just got through meeting with many of the Pastor’s from Zimbabwe who were so discouraged and in need of training that he rearranged his schedule last week to bring in Pastor Joel Carswile and Terry Harrold to pour into these guys. We believe this will be a door way for the gospel into Zimbabawe! What if we could raise the resources to place one of the water purification machines on this church site. A picture of the living water offered only in Jesus CHrist! I need your help, come with me, send resources for this church plant, PLease!
