Project Life 2018: Week 2

I cannot believe 2018 is half way over?! Why does time have to move so quick? I told myself in Jan. that I wouldn't get too behind with my PL layouts and BOOM! It happened. I did, however, print a bunch of photos and put them in envelopes for those weeks... I still have to print more but I have that done! 😉 Let's get started! For this layout, I didn't use a kit but used one paper pad with many different embellishments. A few project life cards and my Canon Selphy!

I chose to attach a tab for my insert, otherwise it would blend into the next page and get lost. A cute pop of color and a label!

I love layers! I used vellum underneath the striped paper, as well a doily die cut and stamped the stay calm and be awesome. Perfect for my youngest!

I love using the tiny type black alphas! Here I layered a label and a chipboard circle. Even with the chipboard, it didn't make the pocket stretch or too bulky.

I included two posts from Twitter to show game details and Lady of the Match. And my girl got chosen twice! I love the tiny puffy stickers, they are the perfect size!

This gold heart was fussy cut from a project life card, topped off with a word sticker. Just the touch I needed to finish that page!

I used a project life accordion card to include more photos with journaling in the first pocket. The tab with numbers and courage label serve as the cover.

I used my typewriter to create a list of the week's happenings and this is a FAVE! I want to include this for each week. Easy peasy and fun! I'm loving the scallop puffy stickers too! It was too long and had to cut in half but it worked! Clusters are another fave!

Art Journal: Beauty

I have been wanting to begin this art journal journey for some time and finally got the chance to start! I blame Heba of My Little Journal on YouTube! lol If you haven't seen her videos, be sure to check her out! This is my end result and I love it!

I began with creating a travelers notebook and covered my two pages with gesso. I used my finger to spread on 3 different colored paints, stamped a floral design with black ink and covered it all with a bit more gesso to tone down the brightness. A floral stencil was used to create the big flowers with paint and a Sharpie white paint pen.

The leaves were cut by hand using vintage paper, painted with gelatos mixed with water and used ink to add to edges. They were glued on using modpodge and shaded with a black gelato crayon. The bees were stamped & embossed. I used a Versamark pen to emboss and create the bee lines. Tiny pearls were added to the bees, as well as splattered white paint to the entire layout. The finally touch was my title, using Thickers.

What do you think? My very first entry and I had fun creating it! My 13 yr old started one too and she had me make one this same size for her bff! It's been a crafty party over here and now it's the summer! It's super hot here in AZ, so we are okay if we stay indooors! If not, then you can find us at the pool. Happy day to you! xo

Prom 2018

I always say how time flies! I want to get back to my blog so bad and I need to make time for this! There, I said it! *wink wink* Okay back to this post!

Last night was Antonia's junior prom! My girl looked absolutely beautiful! I must say that her and her boyfriend, Jason looked amazing! They made such a stunning couple. Yes I can gush and gush some more. =) I have many photos. Ones taken with my phone and others taken with my Nikon D810... Which I'm not too happy with at the moment. I changed out my lens and settings from those I use to take of soccer. Moving subjects. Across the field, etc etc. Well, with a super sunny day and we won't mention the 102 temps, the settings were not in my favor, at all. I was ready to cry (tears were shed) and I even test shot with the new settings before we left earlier! So upset. I'm hoping the others that were able to have their camera work, do indeed share their photos with me. Until then, I'll share the ones I have.

The theme was Fly Me to the Moon. It was held at the Arizona Science Center. The students even went in the Planetarium to see the stars, constellations etc and a roller coaster simulation show. Not sure of the correct name but I had gone with my girls on many field trips to see this! The older I got, I had to close my eyes or I would of gotten sick! Antonia said she loved it though! An employee even took photos of the kids in this room. Looks magical! (I'll share that photo last!)

These two have been dating for almost 6 months! They were best friends for 2 years. Jason is the sweetest kid too, we love him!

This girl is a pretty special one I tell ya! Yes she may drive us nuts but in the end, she's a great kid, super smart, has a job and still plays club soccer, as well as high school ball!

These two have been bff for years now! They met as teammates so long ago!

Not sure why, but I'm a fan of these type of photos! I have been taking them for years! =) Here's another shot that's similar. I couldn't decide!

HOCO 2017

It's that time again! Homecoming for my beautiful girl. This year she's a junior and with the same busy, club soccer schedule. The weekend of the homecoming dance happened to fall on the same weekend of a soccer tournament. She had a game Friday night, and two games Saturday before the dance. Same deal, different year. She was lucky though she was able to make homecoming. A friend of hers had to miss it because her game was a half hour after the dance started. She had told me too that she bought her dress, ordered shoes online, and the day after her shoes arrived, she found out the tournament schedule. 🙈 My girls have been able to make it all these years to prom too, with their soccer schedule. They would rush home, get ready, we find somewhere with lighting that's close by to the school and boom! I take photos and they're off!

Antonia started the day off with her first game at 9:50 am. This really means she needs to be at the field an hour earlier to warm up with team. Then we work backwards... If she needs to be at field at this time, and it takes 30 minutes to get there, we'll need to leave the house at this time. So I will wake up at this time and wake you up at that time. haha! Yes every game works this way. We lucked out for her second game bc it was at the same park. We ate lunch and watched Lele play before Antonia's second game at 1:00 pm. Yep, all in a day's work. 👍

Hoco theme: The Great Gatsby

Although both girls (yes bffs & teammates for years!) were exhausted from two games in the Arizona heat, they both said they had so much FUN! This was music to my ears. lol So happy for them! Both girls are extremely busy each week with club soccer and homework, and both maintain straight A's! Whoohoo! Yes this makes me happy! (just had to brag for a sec) 😄

Wow! Time sure flies when you're super busy and having fun! My days are filled with working for Richard Garay, school, soccer and all the mom/wife stuff! Oh yeah and traveling to all the Be Amazing Tour stops for RG! And as of recently visiting my mom in Maryland. I went a few days early to the east coast to surprise her and it worked! I loved catching up with her in person and being able to hug her again & again! I call my mom every other morning on my drive to work to talk about our days. Seeing the look on her face when she realized it WAS really me standing in front of her, that was the best! I only wish my girls and Carlos could of been with me. (And yes, I will be returning my regularly scheduled blog posts! I miss it!)

Two teens in high school and our youngest in jr. high, yes ours days are super busy! I get home and either we need to go to this store for this & that, laundry, homework and my body is ready to say hello? I need to see the bed like now. The list goes on but I do love my job! Traveling is super fun and meeting all the coaches! Getting to know my co-workers that much better too with each trip is too funny. They crack me up and know me so well, and apparently the convention center staff do too that quick! Yes my co-workers spread the news about my eating habits! haha! (I eat many times throughout the day bc my metabolism is super FAST!) This is the latest shot of the Journey Crew in Virginia Beach from the observation deck (4th floor) overlooking the town and you can see the ocean from there!

Happy National Donut Day!

Yes, daddy brought home donuts! I was afraid every place would be sold out! He managed to find some though! Thank you to the donut Gods! *wink *wink

Happy 18th Anniversary to us!

My hubby & I have been married for 18 years! This includes happy & not-so-happy times (more of the first though!), sickness & health (he has proven to me over & over that he is here to stay after ALL my hospital visits and stays! Yikes!) So many years of too many drs and he still listens to all the details. =) Rich or poor. This man of mine truly works hard & deserves the best vacay! Seriously! One day, we will be blessed with the one of our dreams! Also, can we add a honeymoon to that please?? Yes, we still need to go on that lovely week away solo. Call it rekindle the romance after kids, busy life, etc. I would LOVE to have a ceremony to renew our vows! Oh so many ideas! Back to my husband, Carlos. I love you with all that I am. My heart belongs to only you forever & always. You & our girls are my everything. This thing we call life is a real good thing too. xoxo

Yes, I did walk in Hobby Lobby to purchase the WRMK Photo Sleeve Fuse & walked out with Becky Higgins Photo Fuse Tool! One, they didn't carry it & two, didn't even know that BH had such a tool! Love Project Life & Becky! So... off to the register we went! My coupon helped sway me, what can I say! lol Love the all white too!

This tool is easy to use too! If using for the first time, be sure to get yourself a cheap wood clipboard maybe from the dollar store to use when using this tool. It gets hot pretty quick & you don't want to make the mistake of using on your crafter's mat for your desk! I have an extra 12x12 pink one & used it on this first try. Oops! Tiny spot ruined & melted. Cannot really see it but if used over & over? Ruined for-ever.

Had to try this right away! I just got my Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Confetti flower dies in the mail so... the smaller flower + sequins makes for the perfect fused pocket! I need to get 3 pocket letters out this week & this tool will come in handy! Love it!

Yes, I'm still a fan of Days of Our Lives! My mom got me hooked so many years ago! I can remember walking into the house after school in Kindergarten, mom was ironing & Days was playing on the TV! In high school I watched it w/my friends, after I got engaged my fiancé & I would watch together, and sometimes now my girls watch it with me! Thank God for our DVR!

Crafting & Days. Perfect Sunday morning for me. I love these colors too! Have you tried the Clover Pom Pom Maker yet? Different sizes, super easy to use. The directions on the package skip some steps that make the difference. I watched a short video on YouTube that explained it all w/tips & tricks. Super easy and fun!

I plan to add these pretties to a banner & a little something else I'm working on!

Hello again! Just wanted to share this tid bit about craft foam! Have you ever tried using with your dies? I ran it through my Grand Caliber twice with no problems at all! The thickness of my foam was a tiny bit less than 1/8". If you need to purchase, you can try the craft stores or even the dollar store! Mine has adhesive on the back, but I added a bit of wet glue to ensure it would not come off any time soon!

I used my Martha Stewart fringe scissors & LOVE! My hands have really bad psoriatic arthritis plus carpal tunnel & the scissors did not hurt me at all. Love when this happens! I used regular old school crepe paper also. I measured, cut then stitched to stripe paper before adhering to card base.

I consider this a CAS card. (clean & simple) Love the end result too! I always look at the tiny details & since I didn't stitch around the outside of the stripe paper, I did use pierced rectangles to emboss the tiny dots.

What do ya say?! I'm liking this idea! Happy fresh start everyone! Clean slate. Boom! So many things on my list to want to do, do for my mommy-self, for my girls, for my family & home... The list goes on! I shall tackle one month at a time. That's all I can handle. I can only pray to NOT get overwhelmed with all the life happenings each day. And remember to take time each day & do that one thing that will help ALL in my opinion: pray. No worries though, I won't push this on you, it'll be happening each day though in the background while the girls are baking, singing loud in the car, arguing & laughing away too, with me driving non-stop each day and while getting things done on my mom-to-do list.

Just my girl and her Harajuku bag by Gwen Stephani. We walked into this local store and Leleanna walked straight to the counter to scour over the jewels. She loves her jewelry! I spotted this messenger bag w/all the purses & totes too! I thought what a great Xmas gift this would make for Lele until... she saw, grabbed & would NOT stop telling me she HAD to have this bag! Okay, I guess it cannot wait for Christmas morning. End result, I have a happy ten year old!

Do your little ones take lunch every day to school? Do you still write lunch/love notes? Mine do & yes to writing notes every morning! Our younger two are in 5th and 8th grade. I often look through my Becky Higgins Project Life kits to grab 3x4 cards! Do you? Add some stamps & washi and voila! Super cute notes!

Here are the front/back covers and the two inside covers. I used a little bit of everything! Some of the alphas are from the Target Dollar Spot! A few items are from Paper Issues May 2014 swag bag!

What do you think? I just thought we still have 2 months left in this semester to fit in! Oops! Do you keep all the handwritten notes for your child? Now would be a good time to start working on my other daughter's Lunch Note mini!

Do you celebrate the Day of the Dead? The festival is pretty close by and we were able to take the girls this year straight from Lele's soccer game! A few gifts were bought and jewelry of course! Also, a big thing to do is decorate sugar skulls. Had to wait on line for this too!

Can you tell which lovely sugar skull belongs to whom? lol
