That was a lyric written by a 70’s rock band that posed an important question for the human race. Jesus said in Rev 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to Him and dine with him and he with me.” As we celebrate the greatest event in human history today, Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We as a people need to open the door of our lives to Jesus. Jesus has the greatest love for mankind and the one solution to transform the destiny of our world and the life of anyone who comes to Him. His forgiveness of our sin makes all things new. His death on the cross could not hold Him captive, He is alive! He is the only answer to all the suffering of mankind and the only one who can stop hate and death and war. Come quickly Lord Jesus!

What is the difference between knowing about God and truly discovering and knowing God as a real person?

The scriptures say that knowledge puffs up. Some people never learn and are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Jesus says that these people worship me with their lips but their heart is far from me. Religious dogma for the sake of having a religious approach to a God one does not know is futile. The desire of our Creator God is this, Jer 29:13 And you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all of your heart. The way to discover that God is alive and real is to read the Bible asking God to open your eyes and to reveal Himself to you. Start with the Gospel of John and discover the God who is Love and Grace.

Can reading the scriptures bring peace to an anxious heart?

Absolutely! Most of us don’t take the time to read the scriptures because we are to busy or exhausted from the daily grind. Yet when we take the time we are amazed by the calming effect that comes over us as we read and believe the content of the scriptures. Jesus speaks to us in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. If you have faith in Jesus Christ and believe as you read His promises your anxiousness and fear will begin to lift giving you a peace that only He can give through His living word the Bible.

Where does one begin on the path of salvation?

To guard the peace of Christ in our heart .Do not let this peace be disturbed at any cost .Peace should reign in our hearts. One Christian of the past said,” Acquire inner peace and a thousand around you will be saved”. Jesus tells us in the Bible in Jn 14:27. How does one get by the guilt and pain that can occur in life because of wrong choices? Can my life really change?

First we all must realize that our own sin causes this pain in ourselves and others. The only remedy is a Godly sorrow that leads to true repentance that is seen by a changed life. Repentance is not feeling sorry but it is a complete change of direction in ones life impacting our choice to live life on the terms God has described in His Word seen in the ten commandments. This is done by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the individual submitting themselves to God’s will and not their own selfish desires. The good news is that you can change by God’s mercy and grace and become a new person.

To be the best human being you can possibly be for the sake of your family, friends, employer, your community, country, world and Creator God. To manifest the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23 to all we come in contact with, love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. This is an impossible goal apart from the grace of Jesus Christ at work in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need a new birth to become different people, that is only possible by coming to Jesus and surrendering our will for His. Beloved if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another 1Jn 4:11. Happy and Blest New Year to all!

Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s { Adam’s } offense/sin death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one Jesus Christ. By the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the
greatest gift ever given to mankind is Salvation, Forgiveness of sin and the Promise of Eternal Life. This miraculous gift is given to all who will turn from their sin and believe. Merry Christmas.

How can family’s be thankful every day for all the blessings they receive?

Recently we had a mens breakfast Bible study on being thankful and the teacher read Psalm 100. We went around the room an each guy said a simple prayer to God for the things they were most thankful for. As I listened I was reminded of how many things I take for granted and don’t thank God enough. Then verse 5 hit me with the reason to thank God all the time, For the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting. And His truth endures to all generations. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Mankind is in rebellion against God, why? We don’t want to retain God in our knowledge because of the recognition that we are sinful and as sinners we are accountable to a Holy God that we prefer to believe does not exist. This is a numbing of our conscience and makes us think that we are all ok the way we are. Yet God in His great love even while we were yet sinners sent Christ to die for us. That we might find mercy, grace and forgiveness to be saved and become the children of God instead of being the children of the devil. We should all reconsider this God of love who created us, He is worth knowing and can change our lives!
