CAMfest Showcase Set For America with winning Gospel Artists

Hello dear friends,

Over the last few weeks we have been working with teams in America to ensure a smooth passage for gospel artists to perform on the Big Stage America. We are so excited that things are going great, and everything is going to plan. We are excited at the level of exposure that is expected from television cameras, radio interviews, with magazine and newspapers journalists in tow, besides the opportunity that exists for the artists to be exposed to several international gospel music producers, marketers and sponsors. Oh My God... I personally, just cant wait... Our Gospel Artists will also have the opportunity to network with over 400 gospel teams (groups and soloists) with opportunities for international collaborations....

In an executive meeting, it was decided that we will continue to raise funds towards the winning prizes of 2008 Showcase winners because that would be the right thing to do. So, while we make plans to travel to the USA with some winning gospel artists (some of them being CAMfest Showcase 2008 Winners), we labor to ensure that the '08 Winners are paid as negotiated. It is a great honor to have worked with the 2008 Showcase Winners, all of whom have been very patient. The executive of CAMfest hereby say a big thank you to all 2008 CAMfest winners.

As the time fast approaches, hotel accommodation has been booked at top hotels in Tennessee, the home county of the multi-Award Winner, Dolly Parton, "Working 9 to 5". The processing for American visas for artists who need them is already at an advanced stage.

CAMfest is Going Live Again

Hi folks,

We didn't give up on our vision or our website. It’s more like, we became a victim of the global recession, caving into the pressure to hide under the radar for a while. Those of you who have been following our CAMfest activities and progress since we started in 2007 certainly deserve an explanation.

It’s been quite tough maintaining our web site, as we had only one volunteer, and he was once unavailable or engaged, it became difficult to update information. Because CAMfest is run by volunteers, I, as the chief volunteer, had to update the site myself, at certain points, but (as you know), a person can only do so much. In 2008, we had the CAMfest Showcase in Ireland and in the UK. The recession hit badly, and affected our sponsors and contributors, and our further plans and activities were adversely affected. Besides, some team members experienced personal set-backs. In December 2009, we had the CAMfest Season of Refreshing where the Winners came together from Ireland and UK to be together and be "refreshed. The ministration was powerful, as Oyin, Wole and Bola took praise worship to absolutely different levels.

After this, the executive members had a series of meetings, and appointed a new team, now driven by the Chairman, Archbishop Desmond Hynes, PhD.

2010 has given us a new energy, new hope and renewed vigour. CAMfest now have a package deal for its 2008 Winners in America to take CAMfest Showcase forward into 2011. A fantastic one year package has been offered to the Winners of CAMfest Showcase UK and Ireland, who are set for take off to America in June this year. Interviews have been set up on American radio and TV stations, with newspapers and magazines to promote the talents of these beautiful young people, where they will be treated like absolute Stars... WOW! (I am so excited)

At the beginning of this year, we were faced with a dilemma: do we proceed on updating the site without the full details of the CAMfest Winners’ prizes, or wait till we get everything in order first? We decided to wait, but it’s almost April now, and we think it is unfair to those of you who have phoned, emailed or sent text messages to find out what is happening with the CAMfest Showcase. So, from next week, we’ll begin to post regular updates here. Our new website will debut later than expected, when will have to adjust to the “new normal” way of updating information.

In fact, the buzz that our USA sponsor has created around us has only made our vision bigger since we started CAMfest Showcase in 2007. So, we toddle on, taking giant "baby" steps towards progress, continuing to showcasing talented upcoming performing artists.

Thank you for your support, and we will try not to make you wait this long again to be updated on the news as it affects CAMfest artists and its associates.

The 2nd CAMfest IRELAND Gospel Recognition Awards and Talent Showcase

The CAMfest Ireland Gospel Recognition Awards and Singing Showcase took place on the 13th of December 2008 at the Ballyfermot Community Association Hall in Dublin. The event MC was the accomplished Dublin Radio DJ for African Vibes, a Microsoft IT Engineer by profession, Vincent McLarn. The MC, popularly called Vinny, welcomed the guests, the young talents and their families and friends, and opened the event with a short prayer. He then invited the Founder and President of the Network of International Artists and Musicians (the creator and International Director of the CAMfest events) to give an update on CAMfest Ireland and the planned International events in UK and Nigeria.

CAMfest Ireland 2008, saw Samantha Devereux, (a Zimbabwean), capture the hearts of the CAMfest judges to become the 1st place winner of the 2nd CAMfest Ireland Showcase 2008. The runners up were Glamour 4 Jesus, (a Nigerian group with Tosin Babatunde, Ruth Faleti, and Blessing Okpaje) in 2nd place, while Ayobola Ayanwale (who presented a group performance) was the 3rd place winner.

On the night, various CAMfest Artists Recognitions Awards were presented to experienced artists who had been previously nominated. 2008 CAMfest Ireland AWARDS: Instrumentalist of the Year went to Niyi Allen Taylor, the nominated Saxophonist of the Year was Otolorin, while the Female Keyboardist of the Year Mrs Babatunde. Others were Drummer of the Year (Toye Fakunle), Best Soloist (Precious Okpaje, who had also contested on the night), Emerging Christian Event (M.A.D. - Make A Difference, collected by the Director, Tim Philips), Female Worship Leader & Song Writer of the Year (Anne Trainor), Contribution to Christian Music in Ireland (Joseph Fitzgerald), and the Contribution to Intercultural Evangelism went to Philip McKinley, who almost brought the roof down to audience applause of various Christian populars.

The evening had started with a group rendition by the competing gospel artists of WE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN JUST PRAISING THE LORD, which had been carefully coordinated by Victor Fola. Contestants for the night had been selected from more than 50 artists who reached the final stages. The Audition Judges were Ciaran Smith, Seyi Allen Taylor, Killian McMorrow, Rev (Dr) Adewale Kuyebi, Mrs Olubunmi Salako, Victor Fola and Yinka Dixon-Oludaiye, while the Judges on the night of the event were Killian McMorrow, Nono Madolo (Winner of the 1st CAMfest Ireland Showcase 2007), and Ciaran Smith (Recipient of Artists Recognitions Award 2007).

The event (UK and Ireland) had several National and Regional Pastors and Heads of Ministries in attendance, and was sponsored by White House Estate Agents, ILAS Solicitors, Kingsway Ventures Ireland, Niall Sheerin Solicitors, as well as some support from Moneygram UK, and was supported by JCD RCCG, MFM Ireland, Christs Ambassadors, and several others. Both evenings were wonderful family nights out as the all the artists, their families and friends all had a lovely time.

The 2007 Annual CAMfest Events (CAMfest ACEs) organised by the Christian Artists and Musicians, featured the CAMfest Annual Artists Recognition Awards, and the CAMfest Annual Showcase (CAMfest Show) which was the very first in Ireland, and is being described as the "Christian X-Factor" or "Christian! You're A Star!".

About the Annual CAMfest Event (CAMfest ACEs), and the CAMfest Annual Showcase (CAMfest Show)

The night's events was interlaced with the 1st CAMfest Artists Recognition Awards, which honored Martin Adu, Bisi Adigun, Deji Adenuga, Ciaran Smith, Esse Agese, Free Stylers, Harmoney, Big D, and Meibi Onyinbrakpemi, and the winner of the 2007 CAMfest Show Nono Madolo, a South African student, resident in Ireland.

The MCs for the night were Pastor Nimsi Ajayi-Daniels, Seyi Allen-Taylor, and Michelle McCrann (who represented Virgin Airlines)

The event was supported by artists from various nationalities and communities, by churches, ministries, local businesses and individuals.

Significantly, support came from everyone at the Nigerian Embassy in Ireland, and esepcially the Charge de Affairs, Mr Ben Onochie Amobi, who attended with his beautiful wife, and kindly lauched the event with a very motivating speech. Additionally, the event received the favour of Dr Adewale Kuyebi (CAC), Pastor Isaac Adewola (CAC), Pastor Lawrence Oyetunji (CACC), Pastor Fola Victor (RCCG), Joshua Amaechi (Dr Rumba), Virgin Airlines, Kingsway Ventures, Stay Fresh, Bold & Beautiful Magazine, Xclusive Magazine, Gbemi Kuye, Dr & Mrs Abiola & Tolu Oshodi, Kayode & Tosin Popoola, Martin Adu (who came all the way from the Netherlands), Chidi Okolo (came from UK with a Recording Contract for winners), Gloria Noren (The Music Outfit), Tayo Ige, Tunde Ibitoye (ILAS Solicitors).

Friends and well wishers came from the Christ Apostolic Church, Christs Ambassadors Christian Centre, Church of Ireland, Living Water House, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Rehoboth Arena, New Testament Gospel Church, Stanhope Street Choir, Perod Show, KJ Productions, and individuals and businesses, including Ronan Johnston (Rojo Music), Gary Matthews (Photographer), Tony Ossai, Anthony Olajide (KJ Productions), Peter Nzekwe (Xclusive Magazine) and the list goes on ....

About The Annual CAMfest and Showcase

The Annual CAMfest will celebrate, encourage and honor the individual or group performing artists.

The CAMfest Annual Showcase will highlight the performer and his/her artistry, and showcase them internationally.

These events will enable artistes from other countries to interact and have collaborations on live performances and recordings all over the world, thereby opening up the world to the emerging talents, and creating economic and networking opportunities.

The 2007 CAMfest Showcase organised by the Christian Artists and Musicians, was the very first in Ireland, described as the Christian X-Factor. The singing event brought together young artists (from age 11-40+) from all over Ireland in a skills demonstration, performance, entertainment and unity.

2007 WINNERS:

The performers judged to be the most outstanding in originality and presentation were presented with various awards, donated by local and immigrant businesses. The winners received cheques for €1500, €300 & €100 respectively, as well as sponsored trophies and recording contracts.
