Camp is closing in! We’d like to share some terrific news about some fabulous additions coming to camp this year…

The Gazebo!

We have already shared the news of our new dock Gazebo, tucked along the shore is at the foot of our Whispering Pines fire pit and amphitheater.  It’s in a perfect spot. As you descend through the cedar trees (they whisper, too!) from the shore, you emerge on a short walkway that leads you to a brand new, fabulous spot on the water. Enclosed by screening and a peaked roof, we believe this beautiful spot will become a favourite place for meetings, cabin sleep-overs and many a peaceful ‘moments’ throughout the summer.   We have decided to name it “Buddy’s Lookout” – a name all campers and staff will relate to!

High Ropes Expansion!

We are also within days of starting the high-ropes course expansion. This will include at least 2 fifty-foot poles that contain exciting high elements that are totally different than anything we currently have. As things progress, we’ll be sharing pictures with you on the website and on Facebook.

Shower Upgrades!!

Finally, we are pleased to announce another great ‘upgrade’ that every camper and staff will appreciate!  The showers are getting a major refreshing! A brand new, very nice floor and side-walls are being applied in early May. This will make the showers way more ‘pretty’ and welcoming. They’ll also be much easier to keep clean and shiny.  Be prepared for a totally different look – instead of a dark-grey floor, you’ll be treated to a sparkling and colourful look that’s also much nicer to walk on! Both the girl’s and boy’s shower houses will get this treatment, that involves quite a bit of surface preparation in advance of applying this special formula!

Welcome!

We hope that you like our revamped website! We’ve done more than make it look better (we think!). Its been built for growth. We can readily load pictures and videos. We can post Newsletters quickly and in a format that is easy to access. We also have set up a way for our campers, staff and alumni to joint our EMAIL MAIL LIST so that we can keep in touch with you and share news and events.

What’s New at Camp?

We’ve got some exciting plans that will add to our great facility. First, we’re expanding our HIGH ROPES Course! Plans are being finalized that will bring a completely new and different SKY HIGH challenge. Stay tuned for more information – but all we can say now is that it will look very cool, be very exciting, and provide individuals and cabin groups an entirely new high ropes experience!

We are also building a beautiful, screened gazebo on the water near the Whispering Pines area. Connected to shore by a ramped catwalk, this new space will accommodate lots of activities. From an entire cabin group sleep-over, barbecue or meeting place, this new addition to camp will be fabulous. We expect it to get tons of use all summer long! Stay tuned for pictures as we start to build, sometime in early March.

One of our goals is to spread our footprint as wide as possible. Help us by making our website more popular (LIKE US on the homepage), spread the word and encourage campers, parents and alumni to JOIN OUR MAILING LIST  (it is private and people can opt out when ever they want). Finally, please post to our FACEBOOK PAGE – Help get the New Moon vibes going on Facebook by posting pictures or anything that’s going to add to the excitement as we head towards the summer.

Alumni:

We will be building the Alumni Page of our website. We’ll be adding more pictures and galleries, and hope you can send pictures that you would like to see shared on the site. We’d like to keep our New Moon Alumni as connected to us, and to each other, as much as possible!! Stay tuned for more work to be completed on these pages!
