Get ready for a unique writing contest: put on your Camper shoes, get out and start walking and storytelling your city, its secret paths, its eclectic neighbourhoods.

You have 900 characters to tell your story. And a well-known author will judge the best tale: Enrico Brizzi, Ian Sinclair, Annie Saumont, Claudia Rusch and Agustin Fernandez Mallo. Five winners for five languages: English, Italian, French, German and Spanish, each one of them with a prize consisting on a creative writing course at one of the European Schools connected to the contest. And the best writer of all will win a weekend at Casa Camper hotel, in Berlin or Barcelona.

Camper announces Volvo Ocean Race campaign

Camper announced today that it will compete in the Volvo Ocean Race in 2011-12.

The campaign will be run by Emirates Team New Zealand, undoubtedly one of the most prestigious professional sailing teams in the world. The yacht will be called Camper and will carry the burgees of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

The history and the authenticity of the race, the human adventure, the effort, the desire to improve and the teamwork fully fit the Camper values. Competing in this race motivates Camper to continue innovating and strengthening its presence around the world.

The managing director of the Emirates Team New Zealand team, Grant Dalton, a former winner of this event, brings with him not only a wealth of experience, but a very charismatic and highly competitive team of sailors.

The 2011-12 Volvo Ocean Race will be the 11th edition of the event. The first 31,250 nautical-mile race first took place over 37 years ago (as the Whitbread Round the World Race 1973-74), testing the crews against some of the most ferocious elements that man can encounter. The next race starts in Alicante, Spain, in late 2011 and will finish at Galway, Ireland, in mid 2012, with stopovers in Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), Sanya (China), Auckland (New Zealand), Itajai (Brazil), Miami (USA), Lisbon (Portugal) and Lorient (France).

The winner of the CAMPER-PHOTO ESPAÑA contest presents her photographic project

Ana Garrido Escuín, the winner of the Camper Shoebox contest celebrated within the framework of the Festival PhotoEspaña, presents “The fire”. The execution of this photographic project is part of the award that the young winner from Cordoba obtained thanks to the black & white picture “An oasis within the big city”. This photo was made with one of the 250 Camper shoe boxes transformed into simple one-use-only cameras distributed by Camper and PhotoEspaña during the Night of the Photography at the 2008 edition of the festival. The prize, besides the development of a photographic project, consisted on a three night stay for two persons at the hotel Casa Camper in Barcelona.

Camper connects with the design community in Berlin

On the 17th of November Casa Camper Berlin hosted the first public pitch event to design an interior for a Camper store, this time the store selected is located in Kurfünsterdamm. This enterprising project was lead by the Dutch designer, Hella Hongerius, who observed the work of five different design offices among them the final choice – ErenlerBauer, whose talent of expressing the exceptional brand values of Camper, can be seen in the store from January 2010 in Kurfünsterdamm.

Casa Camper Berlin opens its doors this autumn in the German capital, a vibrant and exciting city where Camper has already two stores. CAMPER opens new boutique in Singapore
