A port of entry (including a land border crossing) can be used for new work permit applications in some cases in which the candidate is temporary resident visa exempt. The POE cannot be used for renewal/extension; this process can only be conducted inland. In some cases, it is necessary or beneficial to use the port of entry to seek a new work permit when renewal is not an option. We have seen a variety of positions of officials on the timing of this, ranging from willingness to do it well in advance of the expiration of the work permit to willingness only if the work permit had already expired.

Hi everyone,
I have a question and just wanted to see if someone has any experience.

I'm on a intra company transfer visa which will expire next months. I already got all the paperwork to extend the visa.

My question is if I am able to extend the work permit at a land border. The CIC website says online or paper and it seems these are the only ways to apply for the extension.

My problem is that I have a business conference to attend in September and I'm not sure if my visa extension will be approved by then.

Is it true that land border does not help with extension only with new visa application?

Hello Team,

I got W-1 visa from my organization to work for CLIENT-A in Jan'17 but I never traveled to client-A.

Now Feb'18, I need to work for CLIENT-B at another city of Canada and my W-1 visa is yet valid till March'18 end.

Could you please confirm, if I can travel to CLIENT-B with same W-1 visa issued in Jan'17 for CLIENT-A.

Or

If changes are required, please confirm those or workaround.

Canadian Work Visas • How can i get a chinese no criminil records for the time i lived in China

My name is Alberto. I've been invited to apply for a work holiday permit in Canada.
All documents i need are ready except one: My no criminal records (Chinese one) for the time i lived in China.
I asked the Italian embassy in Shanghai , the chinese embassy in Rome, i asked at the police stations shanghai bureau of few districts where i lived but nobody gave me an answer about how to get this certificate. Few agencies and one police station told me that i can not even get it.
So i called the canadian embassy in Rome and i asked them for an answer, they also have no idea.
I really hope someone can tell me where or how i can get this certificate. I still have 13 days in order to send my application, my time is limitated , but i 'm trying my best to get this paper and finally work and visit the amazing Country of Canada.

Hope to get an answer from someone as soon as possible,

Current processing delays for a Restoration application are roughly 60 days. While you can link a paper application to your own MyCIC account, if the application was created within a representative's account, then you may need to rely on that representative for the supply of information regarding the status of the case.

I submitted Nominee through out restoration
Nova Scotia Immigration improper support of Nominee letter that's why was refuse from CIC
CIC who have seen the officer feed back that was in the refuse letter four types of factors are not included clear stated
Then with the same factors submitted by my consultant on December 07 through out online for Restoration
Restoration online application how many days will takes in this process?
I came newly in Canada
I urge you to help
How do I link on CIC website to check my application current status?
I have tried several times to check it out my application status,but could not able to do that
I looking forward to help response

Unfortunately, you can only hold a Post Graduation Work Permit once. As you have already had one, you cannot apply for a new one after another program of study.

There are currently not provisions expediting a work permit for a farm owner. There are a number of possible avenues that can be considered:

1. Depending on the creation of employment by the farm, a Labour Market Impact Assessment as an Owner/Operator of the business, which can allow for exemption from the recruiting requirement. Farm management occupations also have some reduction of recruiting requirements, but not to the same extent as an Owner/Operator.
2. Depending again on employment generated, and/or other social, cultural, or economic benefits to Canadians resulting from the operation of the farm, a work permit under the provisions of Significant Benefit to Canada.
3. A work permit under NAFTA Investor provisions depending on the level of investment and the level of commitment of that investment at the time of submission of an application.

You may be better off looking into permanent resident avenues as your primary strategy and not the work permit. If so, then most likely you would need to look towards the Self Employed category or a provincial nominee program.
