What began in 2013 as a small tapping of several Halloween candy-infused CCB favorites has grown to become Jai Alai Ween, one of the brewery’s most anticipated annual events. The heart of the event has always been the bevy of specialty beers on offer, many of which are only brewed once, and all of which are only available during Jai Alai Ween.

This year, each week of October features two special variations of the brewery’s classic beers:

October 4: Pomegranate Margarita Gose & a Jai Alai Ween classic recipe featuring rainbow candy
October 11: Peanut Butter Marshmallow Maduro Brown Ale & Cookie Maduro Brown Ale
October 18: Blueberry Frost Proof Belgian-style White Ale & Raspberry Frost Proof Belgian-style White Ale
October 25: Candy Corn Jai Alai IPA & Lemon Candy Jai Low IPA

These beers have been produced in exceedingly limited quantities and are sure to disappear quickly!

The Jai Alai Ween Bash will take place on October 29, headlined by the release of two versions of CCB’s most sought after beer, Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout. One keg of Hunahpu’s will be costumed in caramel candy, and another will be dressed in chocolate candy and peanut. These rare treats will pour alongside this season’s final keg of award-winning Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin Ale. The Bash will deliver beer-soaked spookiness featuring a fortune teller, skeleton performers, a DJ spinning chilling tunes, CCB giveaways and a costume contest with winners taking home CCB gift cards and other goodies.

Longmont, Colo. (October 7, 2021) Autumn at Oskar Blues Brewery means the release of two highly anticipated seasonal beers – Death by Coconut Irish Porter and Ten FIDY Imperial Stout. Starting now, both will be distributed nationwide on draft and in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans.

Death by Coconut is a cult classic brew that combines a semi-sweet Irish Porter with flavors of smooth chocolate and creamy coconut. The result is a malty and medium-bodied sweet treat of a beer that pairs well with crunchy leaves, campfires and desserts of every kind.

Also returning this autumn is Ten FIDY Imperial Stout, a darker-than-dark, 10.5% ABV behemoth of burly malt flavor. Hefty quantities of big, dark malt including chocolate and roasted barley as well as Munich malt, caramel malt, and fluffy oats are used in the making of Ten FIDY, resulting in a midnight-hued brew that gravitates toward flavors of espresso, chocolate-covered caramel, black licorice and plum. Beer City Rye IPA (8% ABV) stays incredibly true to style by using real, artisan rye bread from Beer City Bread Co. Resinous American Hops provide balance to this Imperial Rye IPA, which showcases notes of biscuit and caraway seed from toasted rye bread added directly to the mash.

Beer City Bread Co. products are developed from craft beer and natural European sourdough starters that are cultivated daily as the foundation of each bread batch. Each dough is aged over 24 hours, then processed using their unique “stress-free” handling bread line before baking, allowing true artisan qualities to develop in every product.

Lost Grog
Sailors of old never missed their daily ration of grog – unless it was lost at sea. Uncover the mysteries of Lost Grog Tiki Wheat, a tropical, tiki-inspired wheat beer fermented with coconut cream and apricot, to reveal flavor combinations found only in treasured tiki cocktails of yesteryear. Lost Grog Tiki Wheat will also be available nationwide in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans and on draft at your favorite tiki bar.

Why start with the wheat style as the diving board for Lost Grog? “Tiki cocktails have a balance of sweet, sour, spice and spirit,” said Tim Matthews, VP of Brewing at Oskar Blues Brewery and tiki enthusiast. “We found that American Wheat beers have that lightly sweet and tart flavor reminiscent of tiki drinks. We discovered the inspiration for the formulation of Lost Grog when we tried the classic Tradewinds and Painkiller cocktails.”

Can-O-Bliss Tiki IPA
The Can-O-Bliss Series is a rotating IPA series that showcases mind-blowing blends of hops. “Most of our IPA hop bills come from experiencing the hops at the farm level,” explained Matthews. “When evaluating hops at harvest over the past five years, we’ve noticed that a few varieties constantly have descriptors like ‘exotic,’ ‘tropical,’ ‘spicy’ and ‘sweet.’ We selected three newer varieties that were constantly being tagged with these aromas and flavors. In the end, we had quite the tiki cocktail of hops by using Bru-1, HBC 586 and Sabro – a great mix of pineapple, lime, coconut and spicy orange zest.” Can-O-Bliss Tiki IPA is available exclusively in the CANspiracy Mix Pack.

Wild Basin Hard Seltzer
Wild Basin flavors Mango Mai Tai and Habanero Pina Colada, also found in the Wild Basin Cocktail Mix Pack, are now moonlighting in the CANspiracy Mix Pack. Their inclusion rounds out the pack to appease tiki fiends, including beer and seltzer lovers alike.

Beer

Every backyard hang needs great beer, so Perrin’s brewers crafted something special for the 9th anniversary Backyard Bash: Bashtoberfest (5.5% ABV). Offered on draft and in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans, this sessionable German lager offers notes of biscuit and caramel with aromas of black pepper for a sweet, malty finish.

Malted Milk Ball (12% ABV) will also return in 2021 on draft and in 22 oz. bottles. A deconstructed malted milk ball treat brewed with lactose, spiced with vanilla and cacao nibs and laid down to age in oak bourbon barrels.

Cornhole
