They are now available in multiple sizes and shapes and can come&nbsp;<span style="font-family: Arial;">embellished</span>&nbsp;with all sorts of things from stuffed&nbsp;<span style="font-family: Arial;">animals </span>to rattles and burp clothes! One of the best baby shower decorations you could make or buy is the diaper cake, it is both fun, functional and will make a great mommy to be gift as she will have diapers to use with her new little one.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Some of the items you will need for this fun do it yourself baby shower center piece project is:</strong></span></p> <p>Diapers, we recommend Pampers Swaddlers as they have a white behind, if you are using a certain color for your theme and you can find diapers in that color and it works for you Go For It!.</p> <ol class="ol1"> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">Thick and skinny rubber bands to roll the diapers.</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">Either some form of personalized band or ribbon from your craft store.</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">Glue gun and sticks or a glue stick for wrapping the band or ribbon.</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">White Curling Ribbon to connect the rolled diapers in to their cake form.</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">For wrapping your finished diaper cake we recommend either tulle, a large clear bag or shrink bags all of which can also be found at your craft store. (Buy more than one shrink bag if it is your first time)</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">Something for the top of the cake such as a cute stuffed animal (Maybe an animal that matches your theme) or anything else.</span></li> <li class="li1"><span class="s1">Time about 30-40 minutes will do.</span></li> </ol> <p class="p2"><span class="s1">&nbsp;</span><strong><span class="s1">Assembling your diaper cake:</span></strong></p> <p class="p2"><strong>Diaper Rolling:</strong></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Once you have all the above items you will need to roll the diapers and take care to hide any pictures or cartoon characters as you will most likely want a white cake when finished. One you have a rolled diaper take one of the small rubber bands and wrap it around 2 or 3 times so it stays rolled and repeat this until you have enough diapers to make all the tiers of the mommy gift.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Cake Assembly:</strong></span></p> <p class="p2">One you have your rolled diapers take 3 or 4 of the rolled diapers and hold them together and wrap them with a large rubber band. Once you have your small bundle add more rolled diapers by &ldquo;inserting them&rdquo; in to the bundle till they make the round tier of the cake the size you want. One thing to keep in mind here is you can spin and arrange the rolled diapers so they are uniform and face the same way. Repeat this stem till you have all the diaper cake tiers made.&nbsp;</p> <p class="p2">Our suggestion for diaper amounts for a two or three tier cake are as follows:</p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tier 1= 7 diapers</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tier 2 = 14 diapers</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tier 3 = 25 diapers</span></p> <p class="p2">Once you have assembled your cake tiers with the rolled diapers you can now take white curling ribbon and tie each tier nice and tight and then remove the rubber bands as we think that will look better.</p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Decorating your baby shower cake centerpiece:</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Now you can take each tier of your baby cake and wrap it with either fancy ribbon, a custom printed band or anything else your creative mind can come up with. Once you have sized and wrapped the tier you can glue both ends together with either glue or a glue gun, we think the glue gun is the best option as it will cool and set quick.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Stacking Your Baby Shower Centerpiece:</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Once all the tiers of your cake are perfect and ready to go just stack them on top of each other. One suggestion hear for stability would be to insert a cardboard tube like the one in the middle of a roll of paper towels or any other straight item (Wood Dowel from a craft store).
