“I’m sitting with my 18-month-old son and can’t FATHOM how ppl can ‘celebrate’ in court when a baby was killed. ANIMALS.”

“This is the last thing I’ll say about it: Read MARK 9:42.”

According to the New International Version, MARK 9:42 states, “And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.”

Stephen Kilbreath Has a Star-Struck Moment over Shania Twain

You’ve never seen anyone this excited (well, maybe Taylor Swift when she wins at an Award Show), as when Stephen Kilbreath got to meet his childhood crush, Shania Twain! As he re-caps the story (for the 5th time that hour).

Thanks to Seattle Guitar Center for their donation. A guitar will be signed by artists and later auctioned off. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.

The BEST part of the night for him was when she RECOGNIZED him from earlier that day, that’s right folks… Shania remembered Stephen! He then proceeded to tell her the story of his Shania concert experience in 1998. She waved from the stage and he INSISTED she was waving at him (his wife seems to think otherwise). He asked Shania if she was indeed waving at him, and well…. let’s just say she backed up his story!

News came in Saturday afternoon (06/04/11) of a fire at Trace Adkins‘ home in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood, TN that completely destroyed his house. Trace was not home at the time. Looks like the fire started when a worker knocked over a clothes dryer which then exploded. [Update: there were no workers on-site. The Adkins girls were home with a nanny who heard a noise and saw the flames and smoke. The nanny evacuated the children and called 911]. Reports are that no family members, pets or animals were injured.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina were teamed up again last night on American Idol. And the result was “like American Honey.”

Last night on the Idol results show, Scotty and Lauren performed Lady Antebellum‘s “American Honey.” And we have the video if you missed it!

Scotty and Lauren also sang together two weeks ago, dueting on Randy Travis‘  “I Told You So.” They make a great team. Whatever else happens, somebody definitely needs to get these two singers into the studio to record together!

No matter what you think of the guy, we can all agree: that’s a reeeaallllllllly long name for your tour, Charlie Sheen!

The My Violent Torpedo Of Truth/Defeat Is Not An Option Tour doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. But Candy + Potter decided  that unnecessarily long tour names can be the basis for a fun. new game to win some tickets to see Charlie’s tour!

Seahawks defensive tackle Craig Terrill called Candy + Potter this morning. He’s fired up to beat the Bears and bring the NFC Championship game back to Seattle.

Craig’s daughter had some game day advice for him – some very inspirational advice! Plus Candy + Potter played him their “Pete Carroll Carol”.

Candy + Potter listeners nailed it the first time we did this. So today, we figured it was time to once again collaborate with our audience and write another hit country song!

So using a Blake Shelton quote (“We figured if we were gonna be this miserable, we might as well be married”)  from his interview with Candy + Potter as the as the song’s jump-off point, we had listeners call and add their rhymes line-by-line.

Then we sent the lyrics to Troy Engle, a very talented Nashville studio musician who’s worked with some of the biggest names in the biz. Troy wrote some music, and recorded the finished version in less than an hour!

Candy named the song, “I Heart Mom.” Take a listen now. Everybody did a great job–even if that last lyric takes the song to a weird place!

Candy finally hunts down Keith Urban in Nashville during the CMA Awards (not that she was stalking him or anything).

Women with large feet, unite! We revealed recently that Candy has big feet, and has challenges when shopping for shoes.

(BTW, whose idea was it to talk about this? That had to be Potter!)

Now, it seems a movement is afoot. Women with similar feet are coming out of the closet. Do we have the makings of a new club for Ladies With Large Feet here? Seems like a shoe-in!

(Ugh. Make the bad puns stop!)

Potter wants a Boeing 787 to do a flyover just for us. That’s not asking too much, right?!

In theory, it makes perfect sense. Afterall, Candy + Potter will be in Everett this Friday morning for the final stop of the Hole In The Wall Tour, doing the show from Kate’s Greek and American Deli, and celebrating everything Everett!

But about that big ol’ jet airliner. If there’s one person that can make that 787 flyover happen, it’s Candy’s dad, a longtime Boeing engineer!

So, no surprise. Melinda Gates doesn’t allow iPods in the house! Candy reported this morning there’s “an Apple ban at the Gates household.” Naturally, the Gates kids want iPods (like the rest of the world). But, no. It’s Zunes for them!

That makes sense. Apple is a huge competitor of Microsoft, afterall. Candy + Potter theorized that these sorts of household bans are probably pretty common. And you called to confirmed it!

Candy wondered this morning if Lady Antebellum blasted through their setlist quicker than normal last night at the WaMu Theatre–in an effort to get outta town fast after meeting Potter before the concert.

Potter was talking about it yesterday. It looks like the rumored “field goal kicking contest” with Lady Antebellum went down as planned at Qwest Field.

Well, not entirely as planned. Potter wanted “in” on the action. But the invite never arrived. Probably for the best. Potter might’ve gotten his grass kicked!

Potter saw a Lady Antebellum tweet about a proposed field goal kicking contest tonight at Qwest Field between Dave from Lady A and David Nail. Potter simply wanted to get in on the action.

But then Candy boasted that she was “first-place, shoe kicking contest, Black Diamond, Labor Day, 1987!” Shoe kicking contest?!? Potter was skeptical. But, yep! It’s a real thing, as tons of our listeners let Potter know.

It was Potter’s Birthday yesterday, so Candy + Potter played the “Potter is Getting Older” game with listener Jeri.

Candy told a story about little Potter that may or may not have done as a kid. Listener Jeri had to guess which stories were true and which ones were false. To make sure Potter was truthful, we got his mom on the phone to keep him in line.
