My Fav French Boutique

2012-04-05T11:08:00.029-07:00

During my aimless wandering around the city, I stumbled upon this gorgeous, little French boutique in Chelsea called Maison 140. Since my first finding last Fall I have frequently visited this store every month to check out the new product. During holiday time I purchased some great handmade, vintage style silver ornaments and candy cane sticks. (I love mercury glass and everything Parisian, I just can't get enough.)

Maison 140 sells everything from candles, pillows, home decor, tabletop kitchen items, lighting, soaps and so much more. I love finding the perfect gift for friends and family in addition to purchasing some great decorating and home items for myself. They also have a website that you can view product and purchase online. They owner is always very welcoming and friendly to all his patrons in addition to being very knowledgeable about the merchandise. I definitely worth checking out this fabulous store in the heart of Chelsea right above the Meatpacking district where all the action is.

I was so excited to read today that my girl, Bethenny Frankel's Skinny Girl Cocktails is expanding. In addition to the amazing margarita and cosmo, they are now launching sangria, pina colada, wine and a selection of vodka. I can't wait and want to try them all soon! I love Bethenny and her show on Monday nights always gives me something to look forward to.

Enjoy!

Today as I was walking on my lunch break down 34th street I passed H&M and was stunned by the fabulous new looks for spring. When I got back to my desk I immediately checked out the online lookbook and am planning to go to the store to snatch up these great deals. I also bought new espadrilles from Nine West that I am dying to wear that go great with everything. With all of the spring shopping I am doing I have to make time to go through my old clothes to give away and sell. You can always count on me to find the most fabulous fashion for a girl on a budget!

Since becoming a new resident of Hoboken, one of my first questions I inquired and that people ask me is- what are the best local boutiques and stores? Hoboken, to my surprise, is filled with unique and fabulous shopping spots. I have put together a list of some of my favorites.

Anthology-cute and hip boutique selling very affordable women's clothing - tops, dresses, denim and accessories...staff is very helpful and attentive...located on 7th and Washington Street

Mackey Blue -tiny, fun antique store located on 12th Street between Washington and Bloomfield, may be hard to miss but you definitely don't want to miss out. Happy Birthday Betsey

2010-08-16T20:07:00.000-07:00

Last week one night after work I attended Betsey Johnson's 68th Birthday Party Event at her Soho boutique. I had read about the event and decided to check it out since it was so close to my apartment and conveniently located in my trendy neighborhood. The store was decorated with girlie, fun and playful accents. There was a pink "red carpet" outside, tons of balloons both inside & out, welcome banner, cupcakes & sweet treats passed by girls all dolled up in Betsey Johnson's famous cocktail dresses. There was a DJ, bar and a great crowded party. When Betsey showed up shortly after the crowd went wild. It was so great to see her in person & listen to her speak about her fashion & life in general. She really is one of a kind !

Forever21 To Take Over Times Square

2010-06-16T13:59:00.000-07:00

Forever21 is all set up to open in Times Square at 1540 Broadway previously home to the Virgin Megastore. This 100,000 square foot store will change Times Square forever and will be located right in the heart of all the action. The giant LCD display sign above the store is counting down the days, hours, minutes & seconds to the official opening day on Friday, June 25th. The booming success of Forever21 stores nationwide has made this monumental event possible. Having this prime retail space will continue to make this fast fashion retailer a hit with the constant tourist traffic in the Big Apple hub. Opening day will definitely be a mad house.

Wicker Summer Handbags

2010-06-10T10:00:00.000-07:00

There is nothing I love more than a picnic in the park on a beautiful summer day. Last summer I got the cutest picnic basket full of all the neccessities. A few weeks ago I was shopping in Marshalls with my sister and stumbled upon a wicker handbag that looked similiar to my picnic basket on a smaller scale. I know Kate Spade and other fashion designers make them and wondered if this is a trend I should jump on? I already have a unique straw purse that I love to break out every summer that I always get compliments on. What do you think ? Hot or not ?

Shabby Chic

2010-06-07T19:13:00.000-07:00

Two weeks ago during a Saturday exploring of Soho I stumbled upon this cute girlie home decor store in Soho. I instantly fell in love. To my surprise it was Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Store which I quickly learned more about. I researched this new store and concept to find this amazing phenomenon that I knew nothing about. I learned that she has a home decor collection currently at Target and sold at her own stores and various places online, books and is widely popular with her female audience. I will forever be a fan of Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic style and hope to incorporate her design into my own home. With the project of decorating my new apartment I have found her style to be very inspiring. I love the feminine details, vintage feel, girlie atmosphere and peaceful, relaxing look to make anyplace feel like home. Be sure to check out her store in Soho and also on the web.
