His 2005 Subaru STI was too good to pass up during our weekend out at Welcome to Atlanta and Import Alliance. The aggressive fitment paired with the flawless body shocked me when I learned this was no garage queen.

This week we bring you a wallpaper of the Jotech Motorsports Lamborghini “Verde Ithica” Green widebody GT-R, photographed by the talented Mr. Dale Martin. Jotech contracted HRE wheels to build a one off custom set of their 593RS wheels to fill the wide body arches on this GT-R, and Dale snapped this photo while shooting the car recently for HRE with Pepper Yandell. Dale is a Texas based photographer known for his amazing retouching skills, and this photo is just another example of one of his surreal edits! Due to the recent uprise of RWB / RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF builds online some often forget the other wide body builds that are featured on Porsches. Last weekend I had a chance to shoot this fresh Porsche Boxster Spyder with a wide body kit. I will admit that I was very skeptical at first since the RWB builds are pretty much the pinnacle of wide bodied Porsches (as hyped up by the internet), but after seeing it and hearing it I had a quick change of heart. Here’s my friend Dario’s slammed Honda Civic on some newly acquired Work wheels. We happened to arrive at this location right as a train was getting ready to leave. Seeing Dario’s s car parked right next to the train was quite a sight and made for a great photo as well. Enjoy guys!

Not quite your average car show, Spring Meet was mostly a swap meet style show which also provided a great place to see a lot of air-cooled VWs. The atmosphere was welcoming inside the family and dog friendly Bellevue Community College parking garage. Each of the 4 levels offered something from food to cars, with sponsored raffles benefiting local charities. This was a great place to kick back with friends and proves that even a show as small as this can still be interesting.

For those of you that really love this scene, who always have cars on the brain, I ask you to remember what made you fall in love with this culture.  For many of you, it was a family member; you recall spending your childhood helping your father turn wrenches, polish wheels, and prepare his car or truck for whatever show or race was next on the calendar.  While my father and grandfathers had a healthy appreciation of automobiles, I don’t think I can necessarily tie my enthusiasm to them though.  For me, I remember sitting in high school, bored to tears, thumbing through an issue of Sport Compact Car my friend had just finished. I had a bone stock 1991 Honda Civic sedan at the time and can recall being amazed at the transformations of cars just like mine that unfolded in the pages of that magazine. The synergy of quality photography and design, engaging articles, and most importantly, the cars themselves, sparked something inside of me that has continued to burn for the past ten years.
