I had a crown come loose with exactly the same symptoms. I couldn't get in to see the dentist for a few days, but he recommended I get some temporary crown adhesive at the drug store to hold it for a few day. It worked and the ache stopped as soon as the crown was in place. Hope you can get it looked after soon.

One of these days I'll have to participate in one of your contests Jason. Cool prizes. And thanks for the helpful suggestions with my contest at my site. Got a few more black and white entries yesterday after I popped the contest up on Facebook. Looks like it's all about promotion! :)

Looking forward to the Skype call tomorrow!

Great article Jason! For myself, I've been learning to use the rule of thirds more with portrait shooting. Things like framing of the subject, etc... Of course, there are often times when breaking the rules works well too... But I usually find those only come out well (for me) when I KNOW I am breaking the rules!

Great post. I look forward to your upcoming articles in the magazine. Keep up the great work!

I had to replace the battery on my old iBook G4. I did a google search and found a decent price at $79. It made such a difference! I try to remember to calibrate but most times the computer is just plugged in.

New Year's found me and my Airstream in Bisbee Arizona. I was on the border to shoot a few ghost towns and pay my first visit to Bisbee. While down there my MacBook Pro's battery gave up the ghost. 30 minutes? Ha, not even. And I knew it was coming, the battery's health was not good. Like you, I found out how expensive the battery was!

Thanks for the info on the hyperdrive. Something else to spend on..... :) Hope you had a great 4th!

My first camera was an Agfa Instamatic. It took 126 (square negs) film and the flash was a disposable cube (that contained 4 single use bulbs) and rotated to a new bulb when the film was wound on.

I took great photos with it when my family visited Hawaii and Los Angeles (from Fiji where I was born and where we once lived) at the end of 1975.

I think that Dad's first camera was a Contax 35mm which I commandeered at the tender age of 8 to shoot a series of images recording the milk truck's journey down our street. All 15 slides were in perfect focus and spot-on exposure! Imagine my father's puzzlement when that film came back from the lab...

After that, it was Canons all the way, baby! Starting with the AE-1, then AE-1 Program, A1, and F1 with swivel viewfinder and 100 shot back.

Digital Ixus 400S and G5 with wide angle adapter followed, and now the first DSLR camera that has made me want to get one - the 5D MkII.

I'm happy! (Although I may have to spread my allegiance to getting one of those beautiful and retro-looking Olympus E-P1s for when I don't want to carry the 5D2 around)

I took great photos with it when my family visited Hawaii and Los Angeles (from Fiji where I was born and where we once lived) at the end of 1975.

I think that Dad’s first camera was a Contax 35mm which I commandeered at the tender age of 8 to shoot a series of images recording the milk truck’s journey down our street. All 15 slides were in perfect focus and spot-on exposure! Imagine my father’s puzzlement when that film came back from the lab…

After that, it was Canons all the way, baby! Starting with the AE-1, then AE-1 Program, A1, and F1 with swivel viewfinder and 100 shot back.

Digital Ixus 400S and G5 with wide angle adapter followed, and now the first DSLR camera that has made me want to get one – the 5D MkII.

I’m happy! (Although I may have to spread my allegiance to getting one of those beautiful and retro-looking Olympus E-P1s for when I don’t want to carry the 5D2 around)

Yep - vignette works here. I use a lot of vignetting and find it actually encompasses part of my style now.
