We’re proud to announce our first collection of short fiction – Blue Ice and Other Stories from the Rink. Written by our very own Frank Ewert, these six short stories all have something to do with hockey, but more than that, they’re about people. We sat down and asked Frank what that means, what he thinks of fiction, and (*gasp*) which story is his favorite.

For those of you in and around Moscow, Idaho, please join us this Saturday (May 9th) from 2:00-3:30 pm for a book signing at the Bucer’s Bookend.

ATTENTION: ALL CANON PRESS FANS AND CUSTOMERS

Canon Press will be hosting a special 1 Week Sale featuring over 50 different titles on sale for $1, $2, or $3.

The sale begins May 1st and ends May 8th. It is open to everyone.

A wide selection of books will be included—both newer releases (such as Is Christianity Good to the World? and Faith of Our Fathers) and Canon classics (like Face to Face and Creation in Six Days). Quantities are limited, so don’t be surprised if some titles disappear quickly. Once these books are gone, you may not get another chance to grab them.

Why this sale, and why now? We have several new books that we’d like to publish within the next year. But before we can do that, we need to make more room on our shelves and in our warehouses. We also need to save up some more so that we can afford to put these new books into your hands!

Reading to Know on Is Christianity Good for the World?

Carrie over at Reading to Know has a new review up of Is Christianity Good for the World? Her review is particularly interesting because she offers a rather unique approach. Instead of looking for a Christian debate “victory,” Carrie suggests that Hitchens’ arguments are the most fascinating part of the book.

I think one of the most interesting aspects of Is Christianity Good for the World? for me was Hitchens’ statement that he would be disgusted by the concept of forgiveness. …. I find that completely and utterly fascinating. He simultaneously rejects forgiveness for both himself and for anyone else. He makes a bold statement that to forgive is suicidal.
