Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering by extending and shading the end of the lens, ensuring no problems with vignetting or motor functions. Additionally, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Lens hoods match the specific focal length of the lens it was designed for.

This lens hood fits the following Canon lenses:

EF-S 18 to 55mm f3.5-5.6

EF 28 to 80mm f3.5-5.6 II

EF 28 to 90mm f4-5.6 II USM

3 Stars Does not fit easily
This hood does not fit on the EF-S 18-55 mm lens easily. Sometimes I feel as though it might damage the lens. Once on the lens the camera looks nice. Due to the wide angle of the lens the hood is of little use technically. It would have been better if it was fitting easily on the lens.

5 Stars Canon EW-60C Lens Hood
Lens Hood Arrived Fast and packaged nicely. Hood works as described. I have only had the opportunity to use it for a couple of pictures so far.

5 Stars Perfect hood
I purchased this hood to use with my kit lens on my Canon Rebel XSi. It works great and stores perfectly (put on backwards). I highly recommend this hood.

4 Stars What, no hood?
“I know, let’s sell the lens hood separately. We can make killing on selling them separately and just think more wasteful packaging. I love it. Maybe we can even figure out a way to sell the glass as an accessory”.

3 Stars Expensive, Poor fit, disappointing
I had to replace a sigma 18-50mm when the auto focus broke – Annoying, but the lens had seen several years of hard use.I purchased a Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens to replace it. Since Canon does not ship a hood with their lenses I had to order this separately – If you can find another hood to fit this lens for less than $25USD, do it. Also I had a hard time fitting this hood to the lens. The hood has to be placed just so, and then you need use considerable force to seat the hood. In Canon’s defence I do have mild arthritis in my hands, but this was ridiculous.

The USB 2.0 CompactFlashTM Card Reader included with this auction eliminates the inconvenience of connecting the camera to the computer for every download. Provides easier and faster image and file transfer for editing and storing on your computer from any CF Type I or Type II card. Perfect for people on the go. Small and compact, this card reader is ideal for people who travel. Plugs directly into notebooks and other easily accessed USB ports or use the included USB extension cable to attach to harder to reach ports on Desktop Computers.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Easy solution for an affordable price
I was looking for an easy affordable cf card reader and this fit the bill exactly. I already had a card reader built into my computer for every other type of memory known to man, so I didn’t need any other types available in this model. Other multi-type readers might be handy, but for this job, the item worked out great. Build quality nothing spectacular, but still working after a month of use. Shape a little awkward hanging off the side of a computer, but would buy it again in an instant.

1 Star I can’t recommend this uint.
I’m using this reader with the SanDisk Ultra II and III cards and many times it has given me an error reading the files from the card saying a file is corrupt. If I move the same memory card to my PCMCIA reader it reads fine every time so clearly the issue is with this reader. I bought this because I didn’t need a multi-card reader and thought the small size would be great but since it fails to read the card about 20% of the time, this was a waste of money.

1 Star Cheap
As with most reviews, this device has broken after minimal use. I fear bending the connectors everytime I insert the CF. I am completely unable to transfer pictures now! Spend $5 more and get something that’ll be reliable!

1 Star Flimsy pin connectors
The pins inside the groove, that fit into the slots of the card, are very flimsy. One got bent after just a few uses – I was able to straighten it with a pair of forceps, but it will probably break after a few more uses. Insert the card gently and do not apply pressure to avoid bending the pins. You get what you pay for…

3 Stars Usefully small, but fragile connectors
I had this for about a year and found it very convenient to carry in my camera bag. Tossed it when the wire pins bent. These are the pins that insert into the CF card. I was careful inserting the card. Not sure if a card insertion or something loose in my bag got into the slot and bent the pins. The slot is very shallow compared to most readers — makes the device smaller, but more prone to pin damage.

Opteka is proud to be allowed to use the same factory and mold as Canon uses for their BG-E5. Opteka is one of the world’s leading producers of high-performance batteries and accessories. Opteka believes there is no limit to the potential of portable power, and as a company they will always strive to find innovative and efficient ways to power your life in the future! The Opteka BG-RXS holds 6 AA Batteries or 2 LP-E5 batteries. This provides a extremely extended shooting time. The vertical shutter release also makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally. Compatible with the Canon Digital Rebel XS, XSi, and T1i (450D, 500D & 1000D) SLRs only. This package includes 2 Opteka LP-E5 1800 mAh Batteries for Maximum shooting time.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Be Careful! WARNING
This is a wonderful grip – works real well and enhances the usability of the camera.

Mine was DOA, but experimentation showed that somehow the Li-battery tray was faulty as the AA tray worked fine.

As 47th Street won’t pay return postage, I was determined to see if I could fix it, rather than pay and wait.

***WARNING***

(Photo in product image section at the top of the product page)

The soldering and placement of the circuit strips inside the tray is VERY poor. On mine, the positive and negative circuit strips were actually TOUCHING, shorting the batteries, potentially leading to equipment damage, or maybe even a fire. One bump and your camera could be toast.

I would recommend opening the tray (seven easy, but tiny screws) and checking, just in case. I slotted in some small pieces of electrical insulating tape between the strips to keep them apart. Don’t worry, there is nothing in there that is easy to damage.

Apart from that, its great!

5 Stars Great Grip.. ! Good Bundle….
I must say that I was a bit skeptical on choosing the Opteka one, compared to the original CANON Grip, since I already owned one (at my REBEL XT)..

After a little bit of review searches over the internet, a lot of people saying that it was basically the same thing, without the CANON brand…

I got the Opteka grip and I am really satisfied with it. Price is good and it comes with 2 good bateries with it.

Hard to beat…

My only comment would go to the finish of the product, the rubber grip is acctually not properly fitted to the grip (as per photos which I added up to this review), to which I had to use SUPER Glue Gel to get it fully bonded to the grip, only a minor detail thing that could be a drawback only to someone looking for 101% perfection, but, the CANON one which I own did not have this issue, which I believe is mainly because of the material used.

Sure, I must also say that the rubber on the grip is actually REAL RUBBER ! Therefore, gives you a GREAT GRIP! Even better then the CANON one, which mimics the Rubber grip with some plastic Rugged feel.

Overall… I say ! Give it a 10..

No need to purchase the Canon one and pay twice as much !

This will definatelly be a perfect match, as I do not see me using just the camera without the grip.

Oh! And another thing I must say is how the Camera + Grip are quite lighter than my previous Rebel XT Bundle.

Go for it.

5 Stars Great Canon XSI Combo!
This product is a no-brainer on a lot of fronts. Using on a Rebel XSI. Price is fantastic. Quality is high. Comes with two batteries that work in tandem to give you a huge power reserve over a single battery. And, if you are using a large and/or heavy lens like the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS it gives you a welcome extra part of the camera body to hold onto for a great feeling of extra security. Just buy it — you’ll love it.

5 Stars great addition to a Canon Rebel series
super long battery life with this thing. Opteka uses the same molds as the Canon grips, so form factor is indentical. Quality may be a little less than Canon, but considering you are paying half of what Canon charges, I can take the hit in quality. everything works great as it should. In addition to getting it a lot cheaper than the Canon brand, you also get two high capacity batteries.

4 Stars You want to make that XSi feel like the real deal? Buy this!
Okay let me start by saying I was sure this review would not be a pretty one. I purchased my item and selected the 2 day air shipping option. I didn’t get it till 7 days later and I wasn’t very happy about it. I called 47th St. and they advised they ran out of the item and they would be sending it as soon as it arrived. Well they did send it 5 days after I ordered it. What can I say, life is as life is and I feel confident that keeping track of whats on hand versus whats not isn’t an exact science so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. On to the item.

I affixed this puppy to my XSi and let me tell you it makes it feel like a 5D in my hands. I love not having to change the way I prefer to hold the camera when I go for a vertical shot, not to mention being able to adjust my focal point and aperture/shutter speed values at the same time. I have yet to get a full burn out of the batteries and probably never will since I refuse to do weddings. I do know through simple math that with the two batteries in the bay I will be able to get more than double the life that I currently get out of my old Canon battery which wasn’t as powerful as the two that came with this bad boy. Lastly, I hated the way my lens would pull the camera downward when letting it hang from my next strap and with the added weight of this battery grip that is no longer a problem. The LCD screen rests flush against my body when I let it hang and it feels so much better. This will likely remain the best $80 in photography equipment I will spend on this camera, and I highly recommend it to anybody in debate. Just be willing to wait a few extra days if there out of stock. The customer service was pleasant on the phone though, contrary to other reviews. Thanks 47th St. crew!

Oh yeah, I gave this product a 4 cause the adjustment knob does not feel as solid as the one on my XSi. I feel confident that it will after a little breaking in though.

4 Stars Thank you Amazon…
for selling these Canon inks at the lowest price around. The inks for the MP980 are expensive, and the ink in these cartridges does seem to run out quite fast (my reasons for rating 4 of 5 stars). I need to order more cartridges for my printer (so to have an extra supply on hand when needed), and I notice that today’s price for the CLI-221 4-pk is a few bucks lower than what I paid 3 weeks ago. If Amazon can go even lower on their Canon CLI ink prices, I would be most ecstatic!

And by the way, I do love my Canon PIXMA MP980 printer. Photos turn out great, and text printing has been superb. Compared to my old printer (bought 5 yrs ago), this MP980 prints at a very fast speed. Also love the auto-duplex feature. I also use my MP980 as a scanner and photocopier and have no complaints. I haven’t used the scanner to scan negatives or slides yet, but can’t wait to do so. My only hope is that the quality of scanned negatives/slides is pretty darn good. I’ve always been partial to Canon photo products-cameras, etc.-and this MP980 printer does not disapoint me. I would definitely buy another Canon printer.

And, I will definitely keep buying my inks from Amazon…best prices (so far) and very fast shipping. Every product ordered through Amazon for the last 10 months has arrived as expected (except for one item, though wasn’t fault of Amazon), and the packaging & shipping of products has been just superb.

Thank you!

4 Stars Missing a color
I have the MP980 which is one of the printers this box is supposed to be for — but the printer says it requires a grey cartridge. There isn’t one in here. There is a black that will fit there – hope that works. If I’m spending the additional money on Canon ink, I’d like my Canon ink to Canon printer instructions be clearer.

5 Stars Great Price
Always a better price then I can get in the stores and I don’t have to leave the house to get it. Love it!

5 Stars delivered quick, and product was perfect.
The product was shipped very quickly and was delivered in perfect condition. Would deal with again!

5 Stars Great Product!
I love my Canon printer for printing pictures and I like the bargain I received when buying this ink. It was somewhat confusing initially because the same seller did not come up initially, so the product did not qualify for Amazon’s free shipping, but I continued to search until I found a seller I used previously.

5 Stars New Amazing Product for Best Available Price
Bought for my wife’s Birthday (professional photographer), she loves it over the overpriced, under performing, Nikon that she was using in her 1 year professional photography program. Camera, lens and all accessories are high quality and in perfect condition, never been out of box, packaged excellently and arrived almost 2 weeks before the beginning of the estimated shipping time frame. Amazing deal especially considering that I had to cancel my order from a mainstream photography equipment company who said it was out of stock for over 2 months, and is now charging almost $400 more than Amazon.com for the same exact thing, even though it still says out-of-stock.

5 Stars How to make your wife happy.
I don’t know much about photography so you may want to pan this review but my wife loves taking pictures. Her rebel was acting up so we bought this beauty. Although a little costly it was worth it to see how excited my wife was when she got it.

2 Stars You get what you pay for
I have a Canon 1DIII, and was looking for a more compact second body. I was not happy with the prospect of either the 50D or 5DII but decided to give the 50D a try first. It’s not that it’s such a bad camera, it’s just leagues away from the 1 series, and in my opinion, leagues away from the Nikon D300. Why do I say this?

First, it’s not at all weatherized, which does matter to me as I do mostly outdoor shooting, and there are competing products from Nikon, Pentax, Sony, that are pretty well weatherproof.

Second, the viewfinder is small and dark, and there’s only 9 AF points, compared to 50 something in the Nikon D300, and at least 11 in most other cameras. I don’t need 50 points, but the little rhomboid pattern in the Canon amateur and prosumer lines is really sub-par for the industry.

Third, there’s more pixels, but then there’s also more noise, and fewer pixels would have been just fine, along with less noise. What good does ISO 12800 do, when the pic is unusable?

In summary, Canon has been resting on their laurels, made mainly cosmetic improvements in each iteration since their 20D came out, and I sold the camera a month after I bought it at a substantial loss on ebay. Good riddance, money can be recouped.

5 Stars I love this camera.
I had dreamt of buying a good digital camera for a long time. I had been shooting films until now since I could not afford a digital camera that produced the quality I desired.

In short, this camera is worth every penny (in my opinion of course). I totally fell in love with it the day I received it. The picture quality is awesome. The pictures are both sharp and the colors are spectacular. It has all kind of great features but what matters most for me is the picture quality. I already have one of my pictures taken on this camera displayed on a wall in the living room, it is 5.2 feet wide and even despite of the size, the picture quality is good.

5 Stars Completely Satisfied
The Canon 50D is great. I added the Tamron AF18-270mmm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD Aspherical [IF} Macro (Model Bo003) lens from Amazon to this camera and I am extremely satisfied with their performance together. The quality of my pictures with the new camera and len are significant. I was using a Canon Rebel Xt with a Tamron 18-200 lens.

This new lens does what many pros thought couldn’t be done – replace the previous L-series 28-70 f/2.8 lens with something even better. Extended coverage to an ultra-wide angle 24mm makes it ideal for digital as well as film shooters, and the optics are even better than before with two Aspherical elements and a totally new UD glass element. It’s now sealed and gasketed against dust and moisture, and a new processing unit makes the AF faster than ever. Zoom System – Rotating type Filter Size – 77mm Max.
User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Love this lens!
I had been looking for a fast lens in which to

use for photojournalism. I wanted a lens that

could handle low light situations. I rented

different lenses to see which would produce the

clarity, the color, etc. I was torn between

the Canon EF 24mm f 1.4L USM and the 24-70mm f2.8L.

I decided I could get better use of the 24-70mm

since it was zoom and it worked well in low lights.

5 Stars A superb lens
I bought this lens to replace an old Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8 that I had been using since about 2001. The Tokina was a very good lens, but on digital cameras it had serious problems with ghosting whenever something like a light bulb or a flourescent tube was in the frame. It also had a very annoying mechanism for switching between auto-focus and manual focus that had to be worked just right or it wouldn’t let you switch.

The Canon EF 24-70mm L USM is even more of an improvement on that lens that I had expected. Not only does it extend down to 24mm, focus faster, control flare and ghosting much better, and implement manual-focus sensibly (including, like all ring-USM Canon lenses, the ability to adjust focus manually even in auto-focus mode), but it’s much sharper. I had no idea how sharp a zoom lens could be until I bought this lens! It is just a bit soft wide open at the long end of its range, but from 24-50mm or so it’s quite sharp even at f/2.8, improving to stunningly sharp by f/5.6. Softness creeps in again at about f/11 due to diffraction limiting, but that’s a natural optical restriction, not a flaw in the lens.

Ergonomically, the lens is excellent. The zoom and focus rings are well-placed and move easily, with a comfortable level of resistance. It is a fairly large, heavy lens, but typically so for Canon L-series lenses, and not much more so than the Tokina that it replaced in my setup. I don’t find it uncomfortable to hold, but I do tend to keep my left hand under it for extra support when in use.

Aside from the minor softness at the long end that I mentioned above, the only significant negative of this lens is the lack of image stabilization (IS), which would come in handy in low light situations.

One interesting property of the EF 24-70mm is that it reverse-extends when zooming — that is, the inner barrel is extended more at the shorter focal lengths, and fully retracted at 70mm. This seems counter-intuitive until you notice how this interacts with the lens hood, which is mounted on the outer barrel and so does not move with the inner barrel. The EF 24-70mm has a much deeper hood than I have seen on other standard-range zooms, and the extension of the barrel at shorter focal lengths means that the hood optimally covers the lens at all focal lengths. At 70mm, the lens is fully retracted, so the hood provides an appropriately narrow field of view; at 24mm, the lens is maximally extended, and the hood provides correspondingly less coverage.

To sum up, the EF 24-70mm L USM is an excellent lens, fully worthy of the L-series designation. The only improvements I would hope for in a future update would be IS and a little more sharpness at wide apertures near 70mm. Until that lens comes into being, I’ll happily continue using this one.

5 Stars A must have lens for those who…
This is a must-have lens for those who appreciate great quality photos and the fixed f2.8. It could also be useful for photographers working on their biceps considering how heavy it is.

5 Stars Wonderful Lens
Pros:

- Solid construction

- Outstanding optics (sharpness, contrast, saturation)

- Complementary zoom range if you carry a telephoto lens like the 70-200.

- 2.8 aperture

- Focus is as expected on a USM 2.8, quick

- Lens hood & soft carrying case included*

Cons:

- Heavy, nicknamed “The Brick” (2-3 pounds) for a short lens

- Lack of IS

- Awkward lens hood*

I would like to first say that I recommend this lens – it is outstanding. I fancy this as a good walk-around lens. It is an excellent complement to a telephoto lens (such as a 70-200) which covers the my field needs – except macro and longer zoom.

Just understand what you are purchasing when you buy it. Quality is not a question in this lens and I will not discuss it. The decision is between the 27-70 F/2.8 and the 24-105 f/4 IS as they are very comparable (but not precisely identical in use) quality lenses.

Compare the 24-70 F2.8 and 24-105 F4.0 IS:

- The aperture difference means the 24-70 is superior in motion freezing and to an extent in lower light.

- Camera movement during longer exposures is less of a concern between the 24-70 and 24-105 as the IS and 2.8 tend to offset (remember that IS does NOT resolve subject movement)

- The 24-105 is more versatile by having 50% more zoom.

- I understand the 24-105 is significantly lighter. The 24-70 was disturbingly heavy for such a short lens having never held a 24-105.

- No comment between the 24-70 and 24-105 optics due to not personally encountering a 105. Ratings on the 105 are good, however.

Pay close attention to the fact that the 24-70 2.8 lacks IS and the 24-105 does have IS but at a cost of F/4 – a precarious trade-off situation. That trade-off decision likely determines what lens you should purchase unless low-weight is a major factor.

I chose the 24-70 because I preferred F/2.8 over the 105’s IS – I’ll suffer through my camera jitters as I have done in the past. The weight of the 24-70 was more of a surprise to me than an annoyance.

*: The lens hood functions adequately but attaches to the fixed portion of the barrel. The hood extends 70% of the total lens length when the lens is retracted. You can reverse the hood but it prevents use of the lens controls. This is why I call it “awkward”.

Now to save up for that 70-200 2.8…

4 Stars Great lens, but is it worth the premium?
I wanted this lens for a long time and finally bought it. Its a great lens and the other reviewers point out all the great attributes.

But to be honest, I also have a Sigma DC 17-85 F2.8 for my crop sensor 20D. That lens is nearly as sharp at all apertures. Sigma also makes a DG version for full frame cameras and is about $300 to $400 cheaper.

In the end, I’m not sure the Canon L’s price premium justified it because its performance in my experience isn’t that much better than the Sigma DG. Read up on the Amazon reviews on the DG and you will see that the Sigma is also a great lens but 30%+ cheaper.

No regrets, but my next lens may be a Sigma instead. Canon seems to keep increasing their prices with little improvement in product quality to justify those repeated increases.

5 Stars Better than canon-I love it
I have had this battery about a week and used it every day. Works great and still fully charged. Pleased beyond words.

I have had nothing but problems with the Canon battery that came with my new camera. After a dozen photos it would go dead. After sitting fully charged in my camera for a week unused would be dead when I wanted to use it. I seldom used my camera because of this. Canon charges around [...]60 bucks for the same battery-just has their name on it. Can’t go wrong at this price.

4 Stars So far, so good
haven’t had it that long (so only gave it a 4), but works great so far – using as a backup to the cannon battery. Great value based on price and performance so far. Arrived very quickly, great service.

5 Stars Great Replacement Battery
I’ve only had this battery for a short time, but it appears to work just as well as the OEM battery. I can’t believe how much less expensive it is than the name-brand battery, so I’m thrilled to get such a great deal!

5 Stars They work, and they’re cheap
They work and they cost much less than the Canon batteries. My digital elf can’t tell the difference.

1 Star Did not work in SD1200IS
Based on positive reviews here, I bought this along along with an SD1200IS. It worked one time but subsequent attempts to use it in the camera elicited “Change battery pack” message on screen. Be warned.

Canon has poured all the Know How of its extraordinary history of developing innovative office machines into each of its copiers, printers, and networked office systems. The same superiority of design and manufacture goes into all of the Canon-branded consumable imaging supplies and parts for this equipment. Naturally, no one makes better parts and supplies for Canon products than Canon. Using genuine Canon parts and supplies is your best insurance against equipment damage, and possibly voiding your equipment warranty.

5 Stars excellent glossy paper 4×6
~:~ CANON COMPUTER SYSTEMS CCSI ~:~ Glossy Photo Paper, 4 x 6, 100 Sheets per Pack I was delighted today with my purchase not only for its price but also for its quality. You will not go wrong in choosing this item for your camera work

5 Stars Wonderful Paper, excellent price!
Love this paper, will only use canon products with my photo printer and this one is just as all the others, fantastic. and a great price too.

5 Stars Great Paper…Good Price
I cannot compare the Canon Glossy Photo Paper with any other brands as I’ve not used any other brands. But I have a Canon Pixma MP160 printer and all I can say is that the printer, the Canon Ink and paper produce excellent pictures very reminiscent of my days of youth in taking the Kodak film to the drugstore to be developed and then returning home with keepsake memories. Follow the instructions on the box and for the printer and you will get excellent pictures.

5 Stars THE PRICE WAS RIGHT
THIS PRODUCT APPERS TO BE AS GOOD AS ANY 4 X 6 GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER THAT I’VE TRIED – SOME OF IT WAS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE – WHY PAY MORE IF YOU’RE NOT GETTING MORE?

5 Stars Great quality, inexpensive – I’m very happy with this photo paper
This paper works very well for my photo printing needs. I’ve used it with my Canon PIXMA MX860 Wireless All-In-One Photo Printer, and I’m very happy with it. It’s not quite as glossy as the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, 4 x 6 Inches, 100 Sheets (2311B023), but it works quite well for what I need.

One thing I really appreciate about this paper is that while one side is glossy, the other is basically like card stock, so you can write notes on the back of photos, or you can fold your photos to use them as cards. This is good quality paper, for a very good price. I’m very happy with this, in the 4 x 6 and other sizes. It covers all of my home photo printing needs.
