For a while the city could have been described as a cultural desert in regards to theater, the only plays being offered by an occasional traveling troupe stopping here while en route to a bigger venue.

Then along came Michael Laird, who launched Cape May Stage, and Warren Kliewer, who started the East Lynne Theater Company. Later was Elaine’s Famous Dinner Theater, which is still owned by Shirley Phinney.

CAPE MAY – A crowd of more than 300 supporters gave Rob Sheehan a standing ovation as he entered the Convention Hall auditorium, Tuesday, March 24, but City Council was not swayed by the show of support to allow a vote on his reinstatement as chief of police.
On the flip side of the coin, people expressed dissatisfaction with city council and members of the administration. Several times, someone in the crowd shouted “Recall,” directed at council members who voted to rescind Sheehan’s contract as police chief. Resident Charles Hendricks, who ran an unsuccessful campaign for city council last year, indicated there could be a concerted recall effort.
“This won’t end tonight. We will build a network to look at issues like recall,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks added that a both Mayor Ed Mahaney and Deputy Mayor Terri Swain might be the subject of a recall effort. He said Councilwoman Bea Pessagno had not served long enough to legally be recalled.

While I know and appreciate that language evolves, there are basic some rules to it, and in the cases when these businesses are marketing toward kids, I find it even more intolerable.

Why do we need to call a social group designed for kids a Kids Klub instead of a Kids Club?
