Cyber Smart Week 2017 

What can you do to step up your cyber defence? 

CERT NZ is the Computer Emergency Response Team for New Zealand. Their goal is to help New Zealanders to improve their cyber security.

As part of their outreach programme, Capiche created the ‘Get Cyber Smart’ campaign platform, and led the development of the advertising strategy. Capiche created advertising, resources, editorial and social media that were made available via the campaign website page. https://www.cert.govt.nz/cybersmart/

The results were outstanding, with the campaign reaching more than 1.75 million people through the 64 partners who joined the campaign. Uptake of resources was 44% higher than anticipated and the campaign page attracted 51% more page views than planned. 

This project was informed by comprehensive user testing that highlighted users were struggling to find the best pathways to content. In addition, the CMS was difficult for the content publishers to update - resulting in a less than positive user experience all around.

Capiche created a new navigation to connect content across the site, encouraging users to move from being ‘interested’ to having the confidence to create and maintain a Wellness plan. New functionality was implemented, and live prototyping enabled user testing to be carried out - ensuring problems were addressed.

When our client came to us and asked us to design an annual report that would not gather dust, we responded to the challenge!

We designed a digital platform that enabled the interesting content from their report to be articulated and communicated in a dynamic and interesting way. Graphics are animated, and video brings the foreword to life.

The content is structured to allow the reader to dig deeper if they need to. The financials and auditors report are presented faithfully in pdf format and, if the report needs to be printed, it’s available for downloading.

The Otago Civil Defence Emergency Management website has a dual role:

• When it’s business as usual, the aim is to get people to be better prepared for an emergency.

• When an emergency is happening, the website switches to ‘response’ mode – only providing critical information for how to deal with the emergency.

This website provides a user-friendly Information Architecture, allowing users to self-select their needs dependent on their situation.

Visualisations are a great way to communicate difficult or complex information.

Here’s a selection of some that our clients have told us work a treat – helping people to take in information in a concise and simple way.

Creating a calendar for the design and print industry is a dream come true.

B&F Papers needed a cool, quirky and memorable calendar to showcase their paper stocks and continue to build their reputation in the industry.

Using typography and sayings that those in the industry relate to, this was a fun project – capped off by an excellent print job.

Capiche developed the UX design of the ‘My Account’ dashboard on the Careers NZ website.

We designed a one-stop-shop account area that contains personalised, valuable and relevant content, and encourages users to continue using ‘My Account’.

The main function was to have users want to re-visit their profile, update their skills and job preferences and be able to easily share their favourite content with influencers such as Careers Advisors, friends and parents.

ASPEQ needed a dynamic and responsive website that would help them gain new, international contracts.

The website was designed so the home page tells the ASPEQ story about its origin in testing the high calibre people we rely on - pilots who are responsible for the safety of their crew and passengers.

The site was built on the Umbraco CMS. It’s responsive, easy to update and performs an important role in demonstrating the credentials of this international and innovative organisation.

Business.govt.nz is designed to help small businesses spend less time on compliance and more on their business.

Key requirements were to develop a ‘sticky’ site that would encourage greater interaction with the rich resources and tools on the website.

Our design includes a new and unique modular structure that enables the creation of feature pages, curating content from across the site.

The Information Architecture caters to the large percentage of users who come to the site via SEO - landing the user on relevant content, within a very shallow, three-level site.

Business.govt.nz was recently part of a nationwide government roadshow aimed at giving small business owners the opportunity to meet the government agencies they deal with every day.

This dynamic and engaging video is a quick and visual way of explaining what business.govt.nz does – how they work, the tools they provide and their value in making compliance easy.
