First is the best I have seen this one side of a slipcase cover for the upcom'n Marvel Creator Collection #2. Both sides are awesome collages from Steranko's work, but everyone showing them have these wonky angles that drive me nuts (I know, I know--that's a short trip!). Second image is the toptenteentunes cover that shows the baddie with his correct (right) dominance. Dunno why, but I've always been amazed at how flip'n a comic image changes people's grips

This 1974 column header for Famous Monsters Of Filmland is doubly delish to me-not only get to dig some wunnerful Berni art, but get to flash on onea my all-time literature luvs. Amongst the many tomes stacked on my nightstand is The Complete Sherlock Holmes. I can't seem to stop re-reading it

If you've been delaying your multi-tasking at all while wander'n around on here, you probly noticed that in the way-back, Russ pointed out to me how Kaluta had been much more prolific on his Shadow drawings AFTER his gig on The Shadow's first comic series than while he was actually work'n on the series. Help! (Didja ever notice I need help every few seconds? My co-workers sure do!) First is a poor scan of the original art for the cover where the new Cap'n Marvel first appeared. Yeah, yeah, you can say the other image is first appearance, but I know what I saw first. Anyhoo, this image is exactly 23 years old, and the printer it was printed on has long been recycled into a front bumper cover on a car or a barbie house. Lousy print, and I'm hoping someone knows somewhere we can see the real version. Still, even this shows some cool variations BP (before print'n), and we'll always have Casablanca (er, this)

So slow on the uptake, it wasn't until this century I realized I'm slow on the uptake, hence the most fundundant catch-phrase on da blog--"so broke I can't even pay attention"

Help! Nine years ago I put the first image up, ask'n if anybody had a clue, and four years ago, upon hearing of Neal's passing, I put up the second image as the lead picture in a big post of many of my favorite Neal Adams art. Not a peep either time. When I first started wondering about this guy, his hair was a crewcut and his outfit was inorganic (and my beard was black)

The next day, and--woohoo! McScotty has not only solved my nine-year mystery, but led us to a biggerbetterfasterstronger version of this great art (which is what I really craved all along). Also, he has a great blog

I got married in July of 1985 (41derful years, as I now say), and The Sword of the Atom Special #2 came out in July of 1985. Never realized that, but I've long realized it has onea my toptenteentunes fav covers. Almost 20 years ago, the trade came out, but I just finally see that awesome cover is the back cover of the TPB. Layers of co-inky-dink, like an onion. Maybe that's why my eyes are a little sweaty

Hear'n about (thanx, Russ!) and look'n up Ditko Batman made me take another gander at these wunnerful covers, but once again, I'm left wanting a little sump'n sump'n more. The Shade cover leads to the Creeper cover and the Hawk'n Dove cover, but where's the Stalker cover? Truth be told, much like the other three, I've seen all the Stalkers and (as Cap'n Jack says) kept all I wanted and burned the rest, but I would really enjoy another omnibus cover

Third image is what we got on the paperback cover of Conan The Avenger, but the watercolor and roughs show Conan lost an axe. This leaves Conan in the rare sitch of being bare-handed, and while his paws look like more than a match for any jar of pickles, I still wish the final painting had the axe
