Speak'n Of Calendars

Last post I was talk'n bout the non-existant Barry Smith calendar, but here's a coupla other nifty planners. First is the Frank Frazetta current calendar, then the horse it rode in on, then my fav monthly image in this 2027 calendar, and the horse IT rode in on. I believe that's the first Conan Fritz ever did, so next is the last Conan he did. After that, here's the Destroyer cover from the Fritz calendar 2 years ago, and the 2 foot by 3 foot poster that Wal-mart calls the Destroyer (a rose by any other name is still a Buccaneer). Then we have the Jack Kirby cover to the 1977 Marvel calendar, then how Jack intended it, then a Kirby page from that calendar, and finally a John Buscema from that calendar. This just in, apparently the Marvel Comics Memory Album calendar will now be released every fifty years

First one has been on here before, but both these are biggerbetterfasterstronger. Wish Roy coulda gotten the chance to finish this book before he passed-I think it woulda eclipsed Sowers Of Thunder (sigh). Krenkel's Conan was dynamically different from his buddy Fritz's version, and I always dug how much a Krenkel Conan looked like Robert E. Howard before there were barbershops

Luv this double-page splash so much, and as I said in the wayback, might never would've seen it if that water-logged copy wasn't sit'n in a comic shop bargain bin, and now I can see the original (and perfectly dry) art. It's taken 16 years, so far, but it's awesome when a plan starts to come together

I never woulda known about this on my own), then my fav thing in the Challs first appearance, Showcase #6, and finally, some thirty years later, Jack's animation concept Roxy is re-captured IFO a very similar giant stone warrior wear'n a helmet

For the longest time, I've fantasized about a fun fanzine that I dunno about suddenly appear'n like a fireworks display (ooooh aaaaah). It would be from the early 70s, and somehow contain many of the usual suspects (fav artists). G.A.S. lite just might be that "fantasy fanzine"

Only new image is the last, where ACG gave Jim a wicked sunburn, but I'm amazed I myself (or anyone else, as far as I can tell) has/have never commented on the giant spanner wrench which appears in Jim's fist for one panel, but nowhere else

First is the best I have seen this one side of a slipcase cover for the upcom'n Marvel Creator Collection #2. Both sides are awesome collages from Steranko's work, but everyone showing them have these wonky angles that drive me nuts (I know, I know--that's a short trip!). Second image is the toptenteentunes cover that shows the baddie with his correct (right) dominance. Dunno why, but I've always been amazed at how flip'n a comic image changes people's grips
