What a great time over the Christmas holiday! I got to go cross country skiing with the master and biy was the snow deep! It snowed 4 feet one night at Donner summit, it is so deep I could hardly keep up with the pack. Sure was fun though-here's to a long winter.

Well the sailing season for 2009 is now in full swing. I've been able to get out on the Bay a couple of times so far. Here i am last year playing foredeck on the Masters old boat.

Can you believe it? It feels like the dog days of summer are here-it's has been over 90 degrees in the bay area the last two days. It kind of reminds me of last August when I got to go to the Dog Day San Francisco Giants game. It was not quite this hot at the game and it was a great time. Hope we go again this year

Last weekend the Master took me to Armstrong Woods State Park it's near the Russian River. Lots of Redwood trees, kind of like Muir Woods. Dogs are only allowed on some of the trails, but a fun place to go none the less. Hope to see you there somtime.

Well it's been an exciting spring and summer. Although the Master had to work a lo, we still found time to restore this old sailing dinghy. I think this is as close as I'll get to sailing in it for a while. Maybe we'll get to sail it on Donner Lake up in the Sierra Nevada mountains someday soon.

It doesn't get any better then this! We went to the beach again last weekend, but this time to Bolinas. It is very scenic to drive through West Marin this time of year, all the hills are green from the recent rains. Bolinas Beach is a great place to run around and meet other dogs. Sea drift at Stinson Beach is across the water in the background. there's also a very a dog friendly restaurant nearby called the Coast Cafe. It has both front and back patios for us dogs. In the summertime they bar-b-que oysters right out front and in the winter time you can buy cooked dungenous crabs to go. Best of all it's a great place for your master to have breakfast, drink coffee and read the Sunday paper. See you next time...

Last Sunday we got to talk a stroll on the beach near Pt. Reyes on Tomales bay. Not much snow up in the Sierras this year so we try to find other fun places to go. (Besides the master has a broken collar bone so he can't ski for a while. He was skiing on new years eve and got hit from behind by an out of control snowboarder. It was not a pretty sight.) After the walk we got to go to my favorite Inverness hangout...you guessed it Vladimirs Czech Restaurant. Next time we go there I hope he has another one of those veal shank bones for me.

Well sorry it's been so long since I've written. Lots of things happened this summer. I did get to go sailing on San Francisco Bay with the Master and his mates a couple of times. My favorite thing to do though is to sit here on the bow and watch the squirrels outside the fence go by.

Every now and then we get to take a walk in Helen Putnam Park high above the town of Petaluma. It's a great place to look for deer (of course it's hard to chase them when you're on a leash). You also have to watch out for the mountian bikers, they come by very fast sometimes. lots of other dogs here though.

Last Saturday the Master went to Santa Clara University to see a Churchill Cup Rugby Match (Ireland A vs. New Zealand Maori). He said he went just so he could buy this souvenir ball for me! He also brought back a picture of the Zealand team doing a funny pre-game dance called the Haka.

The other day we went to see how the Masters Sailboat survived the rainy season. While I was waiting for the Master to finish up his spring cleaning, I ran into my old pal Augie! I hadn't seen Augie since last year when he was just a tiny pup. I hope his Master takes him sailing too!
Look for me out on the San Francisco bay.

The weather cleared up just long enough to take a spin on the tobogan. Maybe I'll try the luge next time, but I'm not so sure we have a luge around here. (You can check out this web site if you don't know what one is- USA Luge ). The Jamacian bob sled team had better watch out because at this rate I'll be ready for those 2010 games in Vancouver. It's been an interesting week so far. We've had a lot of rain on and off. The master had to deal with a roof leak, so my job has involved a whole bunch of waiting around. Today we finally got to visit the boat, so I was able to look for those elusive squirrels who live in the marina area (but as usual no luck catching any). After we got home it was time to play another one of may favorite games-chase the basketball! Looks like it's back to the snow again this weekend so we'll catch up with you later-The Capster

Today was an eventful day, it started with a trip to one of my favorite spots, the groomer's place. After a haircut and a bath the master took me to one of my other favorite places, Vladimirs' restaurant in Inverness. Inverness sits within the Point Reyes National Seashore area and it is one beautiful drive to get there. (For more on Point reyes visit my other blog Cap's Escapades 2 ). I like going to Vlad's place, he always gives me one of my favorite treats, a veal shank bone Nothing like a veal shank bone to make my day. The master doesn't like to eat veal shank bones. After that we watched the Czech Republic hocky team beat Russia for the bronze medal in this years Olympics, we headed for home and made it there just in time for dinner. Since the next Winter Olympic games are in Vancouver Canada, maybe we'll get to go. Canada sounds like my kind of place-lots of deer, in fact i'm looking for some out the window now! -The Capster

I was out walking my master yesterday and ran into my good friend Chica(who was walking her master as well). Chica is another one of my Big Dog friends. A good dog like me and an excellent watch dog. What a day it is! Nothing like a walk at Chrissy Field to get the day started off right. Actually, I wish we could come here more often, lots of dogs out walking every morning. Well now it's off to work (seems like my job never ends). Always on call... See you there!
