For the last two Years, I have watched something interesting happen.

Every Company wanted AI.

Every meeting had AI in it.

Every startup pitch had AI in it.

Every investor wanted to hear the word AI.

And honestly, for a while, it felt like if a Company wasn't talking about AI, it was already behind.

But now, the conversation is changing.

Not because AI failed.

Not because technology stopped growing.

But because Businesses have started asking a question they should have asked from the beginning:

"Is this actually making us money?"

And that question is making many leaders uncomfortable.

The Reality Nobody Wanted To Talk About

I work closely with startups, hiring teams, Business leaders, interns, and professionals across different industries.

A Year ago, many companies were aggressively talking about replacing work with AI.

Some reduced hiring.

Some paused recruitment.

Some believed a few AI tools would do the work of entire teams.

The expectation was simple.

Less people.

More automation.

Lower costs.

Higher profits.

Sounds perfect on paper.

Reality turned out to be much more complicated.

Many companies quickly discovered that AI is not free.

In fact, at scale, it can become surprisingly expensive.

Subscription costs.

API costs.

Infrastructure costs.

Training costs.

Implementation costs.

Security costs.

Monitoring costs.

Employee training.

Compliance.

Human review.

The bill keeps growing.

Meanwhile, the expected productivity gains were often harder to measure than executives initially imagined.

Recent industry reports show a growing concern among companies about whether AI investments are generating the returns they expected. Many organizations continue increasing AI spending, but only a relatively small percentage are capturing significant value from those investments.

And that is where reality starts hitting.

AI Didn't Replace Employees As Easily As Companies Expected

One thing I've noticed is that many leaders underestimated how much Human judgment still matters.

AI can write.

AI can summarize.

AI can generate ideas.

AI can automate repetitive work.

But Businesses are not built on repetitive work alone.

They are built on relationships.

Decision-making.

Negotiation.

Creativity.

Trust.

Accountability.

And these things are still very Human.

In many cases, employees didn't disappear.

Their jobs simply changed.

Research from BCG suggests that over half of jobs are more likely to be reshaped by AI rather than completely replaced.

That feels much closer to what I am seeing.

The strongest employees are not being replaced by AI.

They are becoming more productive because of it.

The Hidden Cost Of The AI Rush

What fascinates me most is how quickly some companies jumped into AI without a clear strategy.

They bought tools because competitors were buying tools.

They launched AI projects because investors expected it.

They wanted to show they were innovative.

But innovation without direction becomes expensive experimentation.

Several recent reports suggest that many AI projects never make it beyond pilot stages, while a significant number of organizations struggle to generate measurable ROI from their AI initiatives.

That doesn't mean AI is useless.

It means implementation matters more than hype.

A Company using one AI tool to solve one real Business problem may get more value than a Company spending Millions Trying to automate everything.

Why Some Companies Are Hiring Again

Something else is happening.

Quietly.

Without the headlines.

Many organizations are realizing that technology alone doesn't build a Company.

People do.

Customers still want Human conversations.

Teams still need Mangers.

Businesses still need creative thinkers.

Sales still needs relationship building.

HR still needs empathy.

Leadership still needs judgment.

Some firms that aggressively cut teams expecting automation to fill the gap are now discovering that productivity isn't always improving the way they expected. Studies and analysts have increasingly pointed out that workforce reductions alone do not automatically create stronger returns from AI investments.

And that's leading many Businesses to rethink their workforce strategy.

Not because Humans beat AI.

Not because AI beat Humans.

But because the future was never supposed to be Humans versus AI.

It was supposed to be Humans with AI.

The Market Is Entering Its More Mature Phase

I don't think AI is disappearing.

Far from it.

AI will absolutely remain one of the most transformative technologies of our generation.

But I do think the market is becoming more realistic.

The honeymoon phase is ending.

Executives are demanding proof.

Finance teams are demanding numbers.

Investors are demanding results.

The question is no longer:

"Do we have AI?"

The question is:

"Is AI creating measurable value?"

And honestly, that's a healthier conversation.

Because Businesses don't survive on trends.

They survive on outcomes.

My Personal Take

When I look at the market today, I don't see an AI collapse.

I see an AI correction.

The excitement was real.

The potential is real.

But the expectations became unrealistic.

Companies thought AI would instantly reduce costs, replace teams, and multiply profits.

What they are discovering is that AI is a tool.

A powerful one.

But still a tool.

And tools only create value when skilled people know how to use them.

The companies that will win are not the ones replacing every employee with AI.

They will be the companies that learn how to combine Human talent with intelligent technology in a way that actually improves Business results.

Because at the end of the day, Businesses are built by people.

AI may change how we work.

But it hasn't changed that truth.

How It Started

I received a call from Mr. Siddharth Mahana, who Introduced himself as an e-commerce expert.

He made strong promises like:

Professional Amazon account management
Proven strategies for growth
Quick and visible results

After watching their Videos and trusting these claims, I decided to move forward.

Payment Made

I paid ₹5,950 for their service.

At this stage, everything looked professional and convincing.

What Happened After Payment

Things changed completely after the payment was made.

Here’s what I experienced:

In fact, Sales dropped after giving them access

The year was 2008. In Dharamshala, Life was slow, Simple, and filled with Small joys.

Ridhiya and Shradha sat together in School, sharing tiffin, Laughing at little things, and talking about their Future.

Ridhiya would always say,
"I want a big job… big City… big Life."

Shradha would smile and reply,

Years passed.

In my years as an aviator and entrepreneur, I have built my businesses—Asiatic International Corp and AlfaBooks—on the foundation of trust and results. Unfortunately, even with due diligence, one occasionally encounters "partners" who prioritize collection over commitment.

I am sharing our recent experiences with three specific vendors to ensure other founders and HR professionals are not misled by the same "guaranteed results" that were never delivered.

1. Dialforce: The ₹15,000 Disconnect

We engaged Dialforce under the assurance of generating substantial business via their Tele-Calling (TC) infrastructure.

The Commitment: ₹15,000 per month.
The Reality: Despite working with Laxmi (SPOC), Mirza (Team Lead), and Priti, the service was plagued by operational delays and a fundamental lack of understanding of our brand. They misrepresented our professional aviation services as a simple "blog."
The Result: High excuses, zero conversion, and reports of their own staff, such as Raja Murthy, being left unpaid.

2. LMM: Unfulfilled Lead Generation

Similar to Dialforce, LMM promised a pipeline of business via TC for a monthly fee.

The Investment: ₹8,000 per month.
The Outcome: We honored our end of the agreement with immediate payment. In return, we received no tangible results—only a cycle of justifications for why the targets were missed.

3. Cruzen Digital: The AlfaBooks Setback

For our publishing wing, AlfaBooks, we sought to boost sales through Cruzen Digital.

The Investment: ₹6,000 per month.
The Outcome: A complete failure to generate book sales. Like the others, they were quick to collect "hard-earned money" but slow to provide any professional value.

In the startup world, time is everything. Every delay directly impacts growth, execution, and revenue.

Unfortunately, our recent onboarding experience with Outplay turned into a 20-day struggle filled with miscommunication, delays, and lack of accountability—ultimately putting our entire project on hold. Initially, their sales executive mentioned it would 10-15 min we weren't aware it would extend till 20+ days.

REAL SCREENSHOTS AND REAL VIDEOS WILL BE ADDED SOON

⚠️ 1. Wrong Guidance from Day One

At the start, we clearly informed the Team that we were using a new Facebook account and asked if it would cause any issues.

We were told:
👉 “No, any account can be used.”

However:

The account got suspended
We had to restart the process with another account
This alone delayed us by 4–5 days

This could have been avoided with correct initial guidance.

🔄 2. Repeated Setup Failures & Extra Charges

The challenges didn’t stop there:

The number assigned to us was already integrated with Facebook and couldn’t be reused
We were asked to pay again for a new number
After raising concern, another number was given—but that failed verification too

👉 Result: Another 3–4 days wasted

At every step, we were fixing problems that weren’t even our fault.

📱 3. WhatsApp (Hippo) Integration Delays

While the AI dialer eventually started working, the WhatsApp integration (Hippo) became another bottleneck:

Verification was pending without our knowledge
We discovered the issue ourselves—not from their Team
Even after raising it, it took 2 more days to process

Meanwhile, our work was on hold because we needed both systems running together.

📊 4. No Clear Instructions (CSV & Data Issues)

We faced repeated issues while uploading data:

No clear instructions on CSV format
Only vague replies like “follow sample format”
We had to figure out ourselves that:

“+” signs should not be used
Numbers must be formatted in a specific way

👉 This trial-and-error wasted 2 additional days

❌ 5. Messages Not Delivering (Another Hidden Issue)

Even after setting up:

Calls started working
But messages weren’t getting delivered to candidates

When we reported this, we were told:

👉 “WhatsApp verification is still pending.”

This again took 2 more days, with zero proactive communication from their side.

💸 6. Hidden Costs Revealed Late

After all this:

We created WhatsApp templates
Then suddenly were asked: “Did you add payment method?”

Only then we discovered:

There are Meta (WhatsApp API) charges
These were never clearly explained earlier

We even had to call Team members separately to understand this.

👉 This lack of transparency is a major red flag for any Business.

🔗 7. No Single Point of Contact = Total Chaos

The process was extremely disorganized:

Different people for different Tools:

Nikhil → AI Dialer
Gunika → WhatsApp (Hippo)

Gunika wasn’t even in the main group initially
We had to:

Ask one person
Request them to bring another
Repeat the same issue multiple times

Meetings were filled with guesses instead of solutions.

📉 8. Zero Accountability & No Follow-Ups

Throughout the entire 20-day Period:

No proactive follow-up from their Team
No ownership of issues
No urgency to resolve blockers

Everything depended on:
👉 Our effort, our follow-ups, our time

💼 9. Focus on Sales, Not Customer Success

One of the most disappointing realizations was this:

👉 The focus seemed to be on closing the Client—not supporting them after onboarding

High responsiveness during initial sales conversations
Minimal accountability after payment
No structured support for small Businesses

It felt like once the Client was acquired, the responsibility to deliver value was no longer a priority.

For startups and small Businesses, this approach is extremely harmful because:

We rely on Tools to scale efficiently
We don’t have bandwidth for repeated delays
Every day lost impacts growth and revenue

⏳ 10. 20 Days of Complete Work Disruption

Because of these repeated failures:

Our project remained on hold for 20 days
Team productivity suffered
Execution timelines collapsed

And despite all this…
