Five years ago, my son was born 13 weeks early. I took the first picture when his chances of survival were quite slim. I took the second picture this morning.

This picture was taken at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. This site is known as the birthplace of the American Railroading. The 40 acre grounds were home to the first commercial long distance tracks and the first passenger station in the US. It is a treasure trove of the history of railroads in America.

If you find yourself in Baltimore, this gem sits just outside the buzz of the Inner Harbor area and it is well worth a visit. In fact, it easily stands on its own as a destination of choice, a prime reason for a visit to Baltimore.
