Meet the St Clair family. I met this couple almost ten years ago while living in Hawaii. They quickly became a part of our island family. We've kept in touch over the years and now with our own little families both living in California, we try to get together every couple years or so. I was SO excited when they contacted me to capture their family photos this season. They toughed out the chilly weather and had a great time exploring the streets of downtown Sacramento.

I cannot believe it's already that time of year again! I'm very excited to kick off the first family of the CHRISTMAS season! October is officially full, and there are only a few open spots left in November to book with enough time to receive photos before Christmas. Please contact me ASAP if you're interested!

I just love this family, and am thrilled to have them grace my blog once again! We met a couple years back in 2009 when I photographed their daughter Caroline's two year photos. A couple months later, little brother Henry arrived and what a perfect addition to the family he is. It's truly been a pleasure capturing their "family of four" over the past couple years. Seems like it's been about a decade since the last time I blogged! Yes, I'm still alive and yes I'm still working, just STILL adjusting to the everyday life of being a mama to a very busy almost six month old and an extremely fast growing four year old while balancing work. I've managed to keep up on most of it except for.... yes, blogging. Most client sneak peeks are now previewed on the Captured by Joelle- Photography facebook page found ---> HERE. In the meantime, whenever I stumble across a few minutes to spare you'll find me right here :)

It's been a FANTASTIC year so far! I've met with lots of AMAZING people that inspire me beyond words and make me LOVE what I do even more! Thank you for that! The 2010-2011 senior year was a success and I had the privilege of hanging out with some incredible graduates who are now moving on to great things. All of which makes me even more excited to kick off the current school year with the up and coming class of 2012!

So to get things started...

I'm very proud to show off the first senior from the graduating class of 2012! The very sweet, talented, smart and GORGEOUS Savannah! I can truthfully say all of this about her because I know her pretty well... she's my cousin! Her family was recently in town visiting for a couple weeks, and when they asked me to do her senior photos I could hardly believe it was true. Where has the time gone?!

Savannah: You're absolutely stunning inside and out, and a complete joy to be around. You have an amazing future ahead and I'm so proud of you.

The Holaday Quads!

For those who don't know our dear friends, Danielle and Ryan,(see on the blog HERE) were expecting quadruplet boys last Fall. The boys made their grand appearance early October and were delivered at 26 weeks. They were released from the hospital around Christmas day and were featured in a wonderful article found in the Sac Bee (HERE) just days before Christmas. These almost 8 month old HANDSOME miracle babies are growing strong and healthy, and truly an indescribable blessing to so many.

I had the honor of spending time with our friends and their very precious boys. I warned Danielle of the challenges that come with capturing one infant (let alone four) at this stage and told her to not expect it to go as planned, and if anything we'll celebrate capturing ONE of our many "planned shots". Well let's say... these boys left me speechless. They were possibly four of the happiest and most cooperative babies I've ever photographed! Mama Danielle had everything perfect from their feeding, burping, playtime, sleeping schedule down to the very last second. Each boy responded exactly the way she predicted and the morning could not have run smoother. WOW!!! I have never witnessed anything like it! Go Danielle!!!!! God knew what He was doing when He blessed Danielle and Ryan with four boys at the same time! Only they could pull it off as natural and graceful as they do. I told Danielle, people would pay good money to take a class or read a book to know her amazing secrets on how to raise such happy babies.

Today marks the day of my two "21st" babies. My first baby celebrates her 4th birthday on this day, while my second baby celebrates his 2 month birthday today. These two are the biggest inspirations of my photography. I never want to miss one moment. I always want to remember… every smile, every look, every pouty face, every single detail. They bring light to my life and inspiration to know I can do anything I want to do.

Meet Gavyn. I've dreamt about this little man over the past year and now he's FINALLY in my arms. Our newest member... born February 21st. Absolutely perfect. We are blessed.

There are no words for happiness like this :)

5 days old and already the most adored baby in the world :)

And a more recent one taken with big sis Makyla exactly 1 month after his birthday! ...Maybe I should leave the "maternity leave" auto-responder on for just a couple more weeks, because a couple more weeks of snuggling with these two sounds to good to pass up! :)

Newborn Braelyn

Braelyn is a beautiful newborn with lots of love surrounding her. Every time I see a newborn I think “what a precious gift from God”. Her parents & big sister welcomed her into the world just weeks after the new year, one of their most treasured gifts. During our session her mom, dad & sis just couldn’t stop loving on her. It was the most beautiful site to see. Not every baby gets to be born into so much love. Braelyn is a blessed girl to have a family who adores her beyond words and her family is blessed to have a beautiful, sweet, and perfect little baby to forever richen their lives.

I know you are going to go far in life, you are a truly wonderful girl! I had SO much fun meeting you and your Mom! I stayed up LATE last night getting your sneak peek ready… and am having the hardest time narrowing these photos down! Updates, and the beautiful Wyman Family

Yes you can call me a major blog & facebook slacker... but at least I have a list of wonderful excuses this time! :-) So here's the quick update of our crazy life: The new home closed escrow over the Holidays and we made the official move through Christmas. We're all moved in (with some major renovation projects and a honey-do list running off the charts) but we are IN and living! YES!!! Good news is... my new indoor mini studio is just about finished with a few small finishing touches, it's expected to be up and running by the end of the month-- Woohoo!!! (By the way... if you're in need of a great, reliable, realtor we seriously have the BEST---> Doug- check him out!) We are also about 5 weeks away from meeting our baby boy who is due to make his appearance next month, and I no haven't started putting together his room yet, (call it the 2nd child syndrome I suppose... yet another project coming up in the next week or so). But we are absolutely thrilled and anxious to meet him! I am currently wrapping up sessions between now and then and plan to take most of Feb-March off for maternity leave, and then return for Spring sessions come April. Spaces are already filling up, so contact me now if you're interested in booking a Spring session!

For those of you waiting on photos, I promise that I have not forgotten about you!!! Computer/internet was out of commission for a couple weeks, but I am hitting the ground running once again! I appreciate your patience! In the meantime, here's a gorgeous family to share~ The Wyman family. I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner! Where did the fall go? With preparing to move out of our house and anticipating the arrival of a new baby, it seems like I completely missed the autumn season. All of a sudden here we are in the midst of the holidays and I feel like summer just got over. Geesh… I feel like I missed it! --Here is a recent session with a GORGEOUS family. Their little man Trent is a handsome, very photogenic 1 1/2 year old and I was not going to leave without some shots of those fabulous blue eyes. Aren't the 3 of them like something out of a magazine?! Had a wonderful time hanging out!

Hello blog readers! Thought you'd never see me here again right? I figured it was about time for an update and a quick return from my MIA hiatus to quickly catch up on what's going on. Holiday season is in FULL swing, and 2010 books have been packed to the brim since August/September. I've been thoroughly enjoying meeting many new clients & catching up with old ones! I'm now booking up for the New Year, but am scheduling very lightly in the months of February-April, as we will soon be welcoming a new member to our family come February... AND moving our family across town sometime in the midst of everything else. (whew!!) Since blogging has been put on the back-burner (but only temporarily) in the meantime, you can follow my facebook page to keep up with the latest client sneak peeks, announcements and more!

I won't leave without a beautiful family to share~

The Rice family. We had a GREAT afternoon together braving the rain... and although we did get rained out for the first part of the session, we found cover and the rain clouds eventually blew over, which made for a perfect afternoon... SUCCESS!!! It was a fantastic day seeing the entire gang together and capturing their bright personalities and fun interactions. (SO PRICELESS!!)

Danielle, Ryan & the Fab Four

For those of you who don't already know... our dear friends are expecting quadruplets come this November! A total surprise and blessing, and if there's anyone we know who can raise quads... it's these two!!! An absolutely incredible, God centered couple that will be phenomenal parents!

We are so extremely thrilled to be a part of this journey with them, and cannot wait to meet the four little blessings growing in Danielle's belly.

Fall and Holiday Timelines

Fall is one of the busiest seasons of the year for portrait photographers- and with good reason. Gorgeous fall colors, temperatures are a bit cooler and people begin thinking of getting great photographs for their holiday cards along with portraits for gift giving.

A limited amount of sessions remain available in September, October & November and we even have some warm days left to enjoy an end of summer session!

Last date for session with Christmas delivery: Saturday, December 4th

It's official... Smith Baby #2 is on the way and little someone is THRILLED to become a BIG sister!!! We are just a couple weeks away from finding out whether our new addition is a baby sister or baby brother. The three of us couldn't possibly be any more excited to meet this little one come February 2011!!!

I was one lucky lady to get to hang out with the pretty birthday girl on her actual birthday! I've watched Rebekah grow up over the past three years as she and my daughter are just a couple months apart. Rebekah has grown into the sweetest girl with the prettiest smiles. She showed me her ballet moves and hung out with her dolly, played with Mom and Dad and then ended her session with a little birthday surprise. Meet Rebekah.
