There's this street in Pasadena called Green St.

Its a lovely street...

one way, a canopy of established trees,

and assortment of little shops and restaurants.

Once a week I travel down this street in the early morning hour,

the light streaming in can sometimes be magical.

Today's piece was done for this weeks DPW's challenge hosted by the wonderful artist Carol Carmichael.

She challenged us fellow artists to capture "The Wheel"

Take a Peek at My New Studio

So many of you have asked for photos, videos ..anything of my new studio space...

and here it is.

My wonderful husband compiled this video...but funny thing, he kept asking

"Why are you including the storage closet?"

I said "Because fellow artists would truly appreciate having that much storage space for their supplies"

...he still doesn't get it...

And what do you all think of my chaise?

Maybe a more accurate title for this room is "Artist Retreat"

What a delightful day I had yesterday.

I invited my dear artist friends (Dana Cooper, Dori Dewberry and Kim VanDerHoek) over for a day of painting, lunch, with many visits to my tea drawer...and of course to check out my studio space in our new house. Such fun, never tire of their good company and being in the presence of super fine artists.

Only thing missing was Kelley Sanford...ah, but we got her on speaker phone for a bit.

Yes, it was a delightful day...and I actually got some painting done...umbrellas and flower pots, some of my favorite things to paint.

Well Happy New Year my friends!

Last Fall we attended a wedding at this vineyard...it was quite lovely.

Imagine this, instead of the bride being walked down the aisle...

you spot a speck of white far in the distance,

it is the bride riding sidesaddle atop a hug stallion,

she is strolling down the long vineyard paths towards us,

right up to the arbor overlooking this vista.

Yes, a great start to their marriage I'd say.

The other evening the Hill family was out for dinner...at one of our local Pasadena restaurants called Houstons. It's a great dark ambient steak/seafood/sushi/salad etc place. Of course, this shot was a must have...so I whipped my camera phone. My family has gotten quite used to this...but the friend we were with was a little amused. Then my family proceeded to say "Oh this isn't bad, she has rolled all the way up into the kitchen to get that 'perfect photo to paint'....she is being very discreet now...look not even a flash"
