japan auto makers are still using the sewing machine egine and cost is the big problem for replace of this belt. They need to go to a steel timing chain like the rest of the good vehicles. I still prefer an America vehicle for comfort and leg room even in the back seat. Toyota has tightened the 2013 up by about 30 percent. The new Avalon isn't exactly going to melt your face, but it's good enough. It still veers away from fun and more towards comfortable, but at least it doesn't feel like you're drifting on an oversized marshmallow. The standard V6 engine, which includes a six-speed transmission, gets up to 268 hp. It's got decent pickup and steering that's at least average, if not better. Higher-end trim models feature a paddle shifter and a Sport mode, though for a car like this, "Dynamic Rev Management" feels a bit superfluous. Also, with a 21/31 mpg fuel economy rating, the Avalon doesn't exactly get to stand first in line for fuel-economy awards.

Pros: Good engine and tranny - alot of car for the price

A very well designed and executed car. The engine is smooth and powerful (v6).. The variable tranny is works very well, delivering power on demand, then dropping the rpms down very low for cruising speed. Very fuel efficient for a v6.
i got 800 kms on my first tank of gas. The ride is a bit too firm, but them all new cars have firm rides now imo.
This car is good for drivers of average to short height. Perfect for me, but could be cramped for for the 6 foot plus crowd.
Braking and handling are also very good.
Car comes loaded with most of the features you could want - at a reasonable price. Give this one a close look.

Pros : Really comfortable, well made, great handling, quiet, fast, nice materials
Cons : Sloshing in gas tank, transmission shifts a little early for me

Purchased As New 2012 Acura MDX, We drove Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and for the money... The MDX beat them all. There is a "well madeness" about it all, many nice interior touches and a real joy to drive. First trip was 2,000 mi to Palm Springs and it was first cabin the whole way. The ML350 was a snoozer, the RX350 same, Cayenne WAY overpriced for what you get, and the BMW was agricultural. Great interior and comfort and trim. Some of the a/c, radio switchgear could be simpler, including the hands free voice recognition which was wrong about half the time. Excellent iPod and USB integration for music & phone. There is a reason this was ranked by US&WR as the #1 SUV for the last couple of years... It does everything well and with some authority and class. One test drive back to back will do it.

Can't say enough about this car. The performance, gas mileage along with all the other great features. Also the tech package is well worth the extra money. Plenty of head/leg room for 6 footers. Great job, Acura!

Even though little has changed from the previous Indian for 2012 (no surprise really) I kinda expected a little bit of a price drop since Polaris has the means to produce the Indians a little more efficiently then the brand's old owner. Still if they keep it at a limited production there is a niche market for them out there. I look forward to seeing how Indian will develop in the next few years though. I've been impressed with what Polaris has done with Victory in only the last decade or so. Classic case of pricing what the market will bear - for the price of one Indian, I could could get a middle weight sport-touring bike, a light-weight dual-sport, an adventure touring bike, and loads of gear and accessories.

Overall I like this car. It has what I want. But there are problems I don't expect to encounter for a car cost 46K. At around less than 3k miles, I started to hear rattle sound in interior headliner behind sun roof whenever going over bumps in the road. The sound will go away for a while when the area in the headliner is pressed but come back later on. It's so annoying! Need to take the car back to dealer. Maybe guys in Canada had to much Molson before putting together my car. BTW, the car had a recall done four months after I bought it new.Just don't expect above things from an Acura
