Canadian Government Says Help is On the Way for the Auto Industry; Swapalease.ca Is Ready to Help Now
(Cincinnati, March 9, 2009): The Canadian Government recently announced federal budget initiatives that would include the purchase of $12 billion worth of car loans and lease agreements from finance companies; but it could be months before the funds even start flowing.
Swapalease.ca has announced that there is no need to wait: help is available now through Swapalease.ca’s special Canadian dealer promotions and free listing offer for Canadian consumers.
Although this new government initiative will help many, some concerns range from whether or not cash-strapped consumers will still be able to transfer their leases if necessary once the government has taken ownership of the financing and if dealers will be able to stay afloat while waiting for the funds to become available.
In an effort to mitigate concerns stemming from this government initiative and as a way of reaching out to Canadian consumers who may need it most right now, Swapalease.ca is currently offering a free listing for your vehicle. Visit http://www.swapalease.ca/special to list your vehicle for transfer at no cost with no strings attached.
Swapalease is the world’s largest lease take over marketplace and has been helping thousands of consumers exit their leases early and save thousands of dollars since 1999. Swapalease.ca brings automotive lease buyers, sellers and local dealers together in one location and offers the best deals for both those looking to exit their lease early and for those looking for a short-term lease with little or no up-front cost.
But Canadian consumers aren’t the only ones who can benefit from Swapalease.ca’s relief package. Canadian dealers can receive five free advertisements and a free banner advertisement on the Swapalease.ca search results page as well as free account set-up. To take advantage of this special offer, call 1-888-SAL-SWAP. Exposure on the Swapalease.ca site garners more leads and more sales opportunities and provides a comprehensive marketplace for consumers looking for great deals.

Cincinnati, Ohio March 4, 2009

The bad news: Auto finance delinquencies reached record highs during the third quarter of 2008, according to the American Bankers Association. At the same time, the number of consumers looking to get out of their leases increased 24.5 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008 over the same quarter in 2007.

The good news: Cincinnati-based company Swapalease.com has options for consumers who might have otherwise defaulted on making their auto lease payments. These people are able to walk away from their lease by selling the remaining time on it to someone else, protecting their credit and saving them thousands of dollars.

“After my husband lost his job, we were trying desperately to get out of our Mercedes-Benz lease. Mercedes-Benz could do nothing for us but recommended we try Swapalease.com,” says Andrea Hooper of Pennsylvania. “In just two months on Swapalease.com, I had more than 1600 hits on my car, not to mention 9 interested buyers. The Swapalease.com employees were helpful and courteous, and in two months, we swapped our lease!”

On the flip side, buyers are able to get into a new car with a shorter-term commitment and little or no upfront costs by taking over a lease midstream. This is a valuable option for people who might be hesitant to lock themselves into a long-term financial commitment in an unstable economy.

“We are helping to lower default rates for those consumers who simply cannot make their lease payments any longer or who just wish to get out of their lease early to find a more affordable alternative,” says Scot Hall, EVP of operations at Swapalease.com. “In turn, these lower default rates reduce the risk for banks and reduce repossessions, which is good for everyone.”

CINCINNATI, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ — Swapalease.com, the pioneer of online automotive lease transferring, released a list of the top 10 most searched vehicles during January 2009. BMW models took the top three spots and held five positions overall dominating other manufacturers. Import vehicles, more specifically European luxury vehicles, rounded out the list with the Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Acadia being the only domestic entries, according to Swapalease.com user data.

1. BMW 3 Series

2. BMW 5 Series

3. BMW X5 Series

4. GMC Acadia

5. Mercedes- Benz E Class

6. BMW 7 Series

7. Cadillac Escalade

8. Mercedes- Benz S Class

9. BMW 6 Series

10. Mercedes M Class

Not only is it surprising to see the strong demand for expensive luxury vehicles in a sagging economy, but also noteworthy that four of the ten are classified as SUVs.

As recently as fourth quarter 2008, SUV demand was soft as evidenced by both sluggish sales and dropping trade-in values commonly being reported. Swapalease.com speculates this resurgence in SUV demand is the result of a combination of lower fuel prices and inclement weather favoring all and four wheel drive vehicles.

With the present state of the economy, leasing remains a popular option for money savvy consumers on luxury and non-luxury vehicles alike. Consumers are also looking for simple and inexpensive way to get into and out of leases as their financial situation changes, and lease transfers between one another continue to be a convenient option. Swapalease.com provides the marketplace for lessees looking to exit cost effectively and on the other side of the equation, those looking for lease deals to benefit greatly from little or no upfront costs a shorter term commitment associated with taking a lease over midstream.

10 reasons to lease instead of buy

#1. It does not pay to own items that depreciate.
Why be saddled owning what will be worth less tomorrow than it is today?

#2. Pay for only the portion that you use.
Pay monthly only on the % of the car that you will use (smaller payments). Pay sales tax only on the monthly payments, not the whole car.

#3. Get a lower interest rate.
The "money factor" is __________ which equates to __________% APR.

#4. Update your cars every 2 to 3 years.
Stay current with the new advances (i.e. side impact protection, anti-lock brakes, etc.)

#5. Lower your total cost of ownership.
Never drive a car out of warranty with no extended warranty costs. Newer cars are more efficient and cost effective.

#6. The is no future value risk!
No trade in hassle. You may buy the car for the price agreed upon at the time of purchase, regardless of the market value of the car at lease end.

#7. You get free Gap Insurance.
Complete coverage for the "gap" between what you owe and the actual value (in case the car is totaled). Not available at any price on a purchase.

#8. Use someone else’s money, not yours.
You have the opportunity to earn a higher rate than the money factor.

#9. Retain maximum flexibility…all the options are yours.
You can buy, sell, trade, or simply walk away at lease end (and often before).

#10. You drive more car for the same dollar.
For example: with the same amount of cash up front, a car you can lease for $399 a month might cost you $680 a month to purchase.
