The best way to look for a cheap rental car is to call the rental companies and confirm their quotes. The smaller companies are also getting into the big race and offering the best seasonal discounts.

Provision of unlimited mileage is a major aspect that one has to take into account before renting the car. In case, one does not need unlimited mileage, lower rates are possible.

Wear, tear and insurance of the car are considered while deciding on the rates. If you are planning not to go on long drives, the deal would not burn a hole in your pocket.

If the insurance is done, the extent of accident loss is reduced and in the process, extra charges are lowered.

In case unlimited mileage is not opted for, you should strictly adhere to the limit in order to avoid the heavy interest added amounts. Of course, if you have an emergency, you can always compromise on rates.

An extensive market survey is very important before renting a car. It is necessary to ask people around in order to know about the companies that provide best rates and facilities.

The rates of renting cars vary according to the time frame for which the car is rented. If the car is rented on a weekend, the rates will increase and if it is for weekdays, the rates will be comparatively low.

Scouting for price-cuts is a smart habit. And buying used cars is no exception.

No wonder why many people are enticed to buy used cars. In fact, statistics show that the number of people who buy used cars is three times more than the number of people who buy new cars.

But then again, not all used cars are maintained equally by their previous owners. Hence, it is important for those who wish to purchase used cars to consider the different factors that might affect the performance and the condition of the car.

Here is a list of some tips that will help buyers in choosing their used cars.

1. Safety features should not be taken for granted.

Being old is not an excuse to justify the used car?s lack of safety features. Every car, whether old or new should have safety features in order to prevent some possible accident while driving.

Every used car should still have its anti-lock brakes working properly and airbags that are still intact (for cars made after this requirement).

2. The mileage is important

This is because the amount of mileage reflects the way the car has been used by the previous owner. Moreover, the mileage will denote the used car?s age.

Normally, an average driver will drive 12, 000 to 15, 000 miles in a year. In this way, the buyer will be able to estimate how old the car is.

3. Over-all check up is important

Before buying the car, the buyer should first conduct an over-all check up on the condition of the car, from its exterior parts up to the very detail of its interior portion.

Being old does not mean any signs of wear and tear will be an excused. Hence, people should be aware what they are paying for.

4. Test drive

There is no better way to know the condition of the car until it has been test-driven. Hence, a buyer should make all the effort to do a test drive first before he or she jumps into conclusion.

5. If possible, the over all service history of the car should be checked.

This will provide the buyer solid information regarding the true condition of the car. Here, the buyer can detect if the car has so many technical problems before, if it has been into an accident already, or if the owner was good enough to provide the proper maintenance for the car.

Knowing these things is extremely important to avoid possible risks in the future.

Boiled down, inspection is mportant especially if the transaction concerns money. Cheap is no substitute for being a smart buyer.

Dying to satisfy that craving for that boom bass but can?t make the budget? Can?t sleep ?cuz of that new Clarion head unit? Look no further, you just need to find that discount car stereo to fulfill your car audio needs.

Well, there are probably only two instances where a need for a discount car stereo will come in. These two instances always entail lack of a financial comfort zone (that?s why we call them discount car stereos).

First instance, you don?t have an audio system in your car, and you would like to install one. Following the premise we have above, you?re most probably a car owner who doesn?t have enough cash to spend on a new, top of the line system.

What to do: How do you get a discount car stereo? One way is to go to a car stereo sale. Still, you have to deal with store prices, they?re cheap, but not that cheap. Another is to scour the classifieds and buy and sell for second-hand items. These are real discount car stereos, but you have to have a sharp eye to recognize which is a good deal and which is a swindle. Ask the seller how many years he had it, in what car. Inspect the car where it is installed. If it?s still installed on the car, give it a go. If it?s just a head unit, or a speaker that isn?t installed, just be careful. Research the model of the discount car stereo you?re planning to buy, also find reviews.

Second instance: You already have a car stereo system installed, but you would like to upgrade it. Again, most probably you?re just searching for a discount car stereo/discount car stereo system not far from what you have. Maybe something with higher wattage, or a head unit which can play mp3s? And again, try searching at sales. Take advantage of classifieds, buy and sells, second hands, and also swaps. Chances are, if you?re a car audio enthusiast, someone in your circle currently has a better system than yours and maybe willing to sell it to you. No need for standard pricing here. Or if others have equivalent items which they might be willing to swap, like a head unit for an amplifier, or a nice set of tweeters for a cd changer (i highly doubt it) or your pedigreed pitbull for the whole shebang! You?ll get more discount car stereos if you have a circle of friends/people who share the same interest.

Other tips which might help: Another way to get a discount car stereo is to SUBSTITUTE. Like cars, Japanese made units are often cheaper than German/European/American made units. Also, look at the basics. What is it that you need, as in the most BASIC FEATURES? Do you really need that mesmerizing LED display, or can you do without it? Goes for speakers too. If you?re not going to enter a car audio competition and you just want to hear good treble and bass levels without making your speakers croak, maybe you can do away with a couple of 3way/4 way speakers. A big subwoofer will definitely need an amplifier, and those are already 2 things to buy.

Discount car stereos are always a good deal, you just have to know where to get one.

Dealing with some kinks can be such work but it?s all worth it. Although, there can be hints on how to do away with your kinks. Car detailing can be done or your can do-it-yourself.

1. If you wanted to wash the wipers of your windshield, use a mitt of a sponge reserved for applications which are harsh to the surface. You can make your windshields last a little longer by occasionally applying dressing treatments. You should wipe off the excess treatment residues so that it won?t dry on that surface. Windshield wipers are expected to help car owners in times of rain and snow, more reason to take care of it upon detailing.

2. If you have a car that?s newly painted or has been repainted, consult the person who painted your car regarding the longevity of the wax that was put on your car because of the view that newly applied paints needs to be cured first to give way for solvents to dissipate as part of the entire process of detailing. If you ?accidentally? applied wax even if the paint is not yet ?cured? then the wax itself will interfere with the entire process of dissipation. New cars are exempted with this crucial period because owner can choose not to wait for waxing to be done because the paint of a newly bought car is cured inside ovens of factories that made the car.

3. Use graphite oil for the mast of your antenna. Graphite coating will make lowering and raising more efficient without any signs of blockage and this will further make the electric unit become more reliable. This is most effective especially if you?re having a difficult time with your car?s antenna.

4. When you are at that point of cleaning your car?s glass either interior or exterior, make a vertical motion if you are wiping the exterior and use a horizontal motion in the interior. In these motions, you are sure that cleaning is more effective than what you ordinarily do. If you have any signs of streaking, surely, it?s not necessary to guess the side being streaked.

5. Spray products must be applied on a cloth rather than to the surface that?s being treated. In this case, you prevent smudges of unnecessary spray parts. You can prevent spraying nearby areas which will become an additional concern and add up to your work. You have to make sure that the cloth you use is gentle and soft enough so that scratches will not be evident.

6. To inspect the finish of your car, you can use the loupe of photographers which can magnify set ups of glass to be at the distance given on a surface. This will give you further insight on the paint job that you have done. You will observe more of what?s not seen.

7. In terms of decals, frames of license plates, stickers at bumpers and other distractions are not advised in a car that is well-detailed. This will just destroy the car?s overall feature and will give other meaning to the fact that the car is something made out of good detailing.

8. Once you see bird droppings, attend to the cleaning at once. The contents of their dropping are harmful to your car?s paint. Who would want bird droppings on their newly painted car? Nobody is amused by that right? This is also one reason why you need to wax your car because it will definitely protect your car from being damaged. Car detailing must be your first priority.

When you finally make the decision to purchase a new
car the last thing you would expect to find is that
the car is defective in one way or the other.

However, this does happen - albeit on a small scale -
and there are laws in place - both federal and state,
to force the manufacturer to replace, repair or
refund.

But what do you look out for when you are buying a
used car? Sometimes the fault is very obvious.

Maybe you can see a kind of ripple effect down the
side of the car when viewed from either end. This
could mean that the car had collided with something
forcing the metal body to warp in ripple like
patterns.

Or perhaps the car is a different color on one side or
at the back or front. Careful here, this could denote
a "cut and shut" type vehicle which is highly
dangerous.

The car is literally two vehicles welded together.
Maybe the car (or part of it) was stolen and has been
passed off as being legitimate.

Most times faults are not obvious and great care
should be taken to check out the history of the
vehicle.

Remember the old adage - buy in haste repent at
leisure? - well in this kind of case your grandma was
right.

Never buy in a hurry and get some kind of organization
to check out the vehicle for you. It may cost a little
more in the long run but you will be assured of a
reasonably safe vehicle and avoid litigation.

Formula D Racing, otherwise known as Formula Drifting, is a fun and exciting sport; however, it is a sport that is relatively new to the United States. Although Formula D Racing is already popular in Japan; in fact, it has been for a while, its popularity is just starting to grow in the United States. For that reason, there is a good chance that you may not even know what Formula D Racing is. If you do happen to know what it is, you may want to learn more. If that is the case, you are in luck. There are a number of different ways that you can learn more about Formula Drifting.

Perhaps, the best way that you famialrize yourself with Formula D Racing is by using the internet. Online, you will find a fairly large number of websites that offer information on Formula Drifting. The best way to find these websites is by performing a standard internet search. When searching, you may want to use the words Formula D, Formula Drifting, or drifting. Your search will likely return links to a number of different websites. These websites may have general information on drifting, information on how to drift, or information on professional Formula D drivers.

In addition to using the internet, you can also learn more about Formula D Racing through books. Since Formula D is a fairly popular sport, even though its popularity is fairly new in the United States, there are a large number of books on this sport. These books, like the above mentioned online websites, may focus on Formula D Racing in general, give you tips on how to drift like the professionals, or whole books may even be devoted to professional Formula D drivers. If you are looking to purchase printed resources on Formula Drifting, you can either do so online or at your local book store.

You can also familiarize yourself with Formula D Racing by watching videos of the sport. These videos may include instructional how-to videos or they may just contain clips of past races. As with printed resources, such as a book, you should be able to find Formula D Racing videos from a number of different places. You should be able to find them online, at a local media store, or you may even be able to rent them online or from your local video rental store. Many of these videos only come in DVD format, but some can be found in the older VHS format.

In addition to buying or renting videos on Formula D Racing, you should also be able to watch some programming on television. Formula D Racing has partnered with G4TV. This television network airs Formula D Racing events, as well as other informational programs on the sport. By checking your local listing, you should be able to determine when Formula D programming will be on. If you have access to the G4 network, these shows are a great way to go about familiarizing yourself with the sport.

As previously mentioned, you must have access to G4 to view programs of Formula D Racing. If you do not have access to that popular television channel, you do have an alternative. G4, Formula D Racing, and iTunes have come together to create Formula Drifting podcasts. These podcasts currently show clips of popular drifting head-to-head events, as well as behind the scenes looks at the drivers, as well as the cars. The good news about these podcasts is that they are free to watch and the iTunes program, needed to view the podcasts, is also free to download.

As you can easily see, there are a number of different ways that you can learn more about Formula D Racing. In addition to the above mentioned methods, you may also want to attend a live event. If you are ever given the opportunity to attend a live drifting event, you are advised to take it. Not only will you learn a lot about the sport, but it is also guaranteed that you will have a fun time.

With gasoline getting more and more expensive, you've
probably found yourself wondering what you can do.
Even with the rising costs of gas and fuel, you
still need it to go places. No matter how you look
at it, you are at the mercy of these prices.

If you own two credit cards, changes are that you
will use one of them to pay for your gas. Gas credit
cards are now starting to shine. There are many
individuals who are planning to apply for a gas
card. Most cards are either issued by a leading
credit card company or by a major retailing gas
station.

Along with that, there are some of the gas credit
cards that give you a great deal like having
discounts on gases such as unleaded, premium, and
others. Gas credit cards also give you an
assurance to have more approved gas bonus.

If the credit card is approved, the owner of the
card will not only save money on gas, but he'll
also get an extra allowance for car equipment and
accessories. Gas cards can also help you save
a bundle on repairs as well.

Keep in mind that there are some things to consider
when you apply for a gas card. When you plan to
apply for a card, the conditions should always be
known. The benefits of the gas credit cards
available should also be studied and researched
in order to compare rates, features, and
benefits.

As the popularity of gas credit cards continue to
increase, so will the offers. Gas cards also
offer a positive effect for gasoline retailers as
well. The customer will also earn additional
incentives as well. If you plan to stick with
one brand of gas, this card can generate some of
the best rewards.

When looking for the best type of gasoline credit
card, the most important thing to do is review
the terms and conditions. The present status
of the card should also be reviewed in order to
avoid a bad credit record.

There are also several gas credit cards that will
give you extra rewards and point systems. What
this means, is that the card holder can earn
cash back on certain purchases. The more points
you get, the bigger product you can receive.

The ideal purpose of applying for gas credit cards
is to help eliminate the gas expenses. The
credit card should help you to have a deal with
gas expenses. Low interest premium cards can be
the best if you can maintain the proper balance.

The best thing about gasoline credit cards is the
fact that you don't have to pay for them now and
you can just pay later. Just don't forget to pay
the bill, as you could end up getting a bad credit
rating.

For people who have a low credit score or had encountered some serious credit problems in the past and need to buy a car, then, they have to apply for the so-called bad credit used car loan.

Basically, a bad credit used car loan provides the debtor the chance to obtain a car. The only drawback is that due to the bad credit history of the person, bad credit used car loans will require the buyer to pay the loan in a shorter time and with higher interest rates.

However, there are many creditors these days that offer comprehensive payment terms that let people pay back their loans even up to seven years.

Normally, bad credit used car loans only allow the debtor to pay back the whole loan within a 48-month period. This is because the creditors know that the car being purchased is already used, hence, the amount will be smaller when compared to a new car. In this manner, the lender looks forward to debtor?s capacity to pay back the loan in a possible shorter time.

However, there are some factors that need to be considered first before getting a loan. Here?s the list:

1. The debtor should know the prices of used cars, so that they will know how much they should loan.

There are some cases wherein car dealers take advantage of their customers especially if they know that the buyer has a bad credit history and is using a bad credit used car loan. Chances are these kinds of companies will provide higher prices.

2. Debtors should make it a point to shop around for the best terms and conditions of bad credit used car loans.

Not all lenders are created equal and each creditor that provides bad credit used car loan has its own terms and conditions. Hence, it is important to shop around so as to obtain the best deal.

3. Debtors or borrowers should know the specific requirement stipulated in the bad credit used car loan. There are some banks or financial institutions that will only grant loans to those who will buy used cars that are 4 to 5 years old.

All of these things are boiled down to the fact that even if the loan is based on a bad credit history, people should not take bad credit used car lenders for granted.

They should remember that this loan may be the way to obtain a good credit history once more.

When it comes to auto sound systems, one question seems to be repeated often-is bigger better? The honest answer to that is not by a long shot. There are many excellent quality sound systems that will not require the backseat and your first-born in order to enjoy wonderful quality of sound and music as you drive along on your daily commute. One thing that is important to remember is that dynamite does in fact come in small packages. The same can be true of a good quality sound system for your car, truck, or SUV.

You can elect to have the full range sound package. This package, if not custom installed by the dealer can take up a great deal of real estate within your car, truck, or SUV. If you own a compact car, these types of speakers and this particular type of sound system is definitely not recommended. The first reason it is unattractive is that it will most likely require either the vast majority of your trunk or take out your back seat. I for one like being able to cart around friends, relatives, and/or children-my back seat isn't up for grabs. I also prefer the continuity of a factory-installed system that takes up none of the premium living space within the interior of my SUV.

I am personally biased towards the wonderful sound quality of the Bose sound system and speakers. The quality of sound with this particular system is excellent and any true music lover will tell you that good quality of sound is better by far than a louder sound. This is not to say that the Bose sound system will be the perfect choice for everyone to use as his or her auto sound system only that it is my first choice as a music lover.

I prefer a softer sound that has good quality to a louder sound of the substandard or even average quality on any day. The problem with most 'big' sound systems and speakers is that they often sound hollow or tinny rather than full and robust. A good auto sound system will provide the best possible sound within the confines of the least possible space. You will probably find that you don't need to sacrifice your backseat in order to hold the speakers and while the Bose sound system for automobiles does cost more than some sound systems, it won't require a second mortgage on your home in order to afford. There are actually times in life when you get what you pay for.

The important thing to remember is that you do not have to have the most expensive, the best known, or even the biggest sound system in order to have a wonderful quality sound system in your automobile. You will not even have to have a Bose sound system in order to have a sound system that is not only excellent quality but also excellent sound. You do not need to pay an arm and a leg or any other appendages in order to have a good sound on your daily commute to work.

Music is all around us, at work, at home, on television shows. Music sets moods, sets tones, and kills moods on occasion. It only makes sense that you have good quality equipment upon which to play the music that so greatly enhances and enriches your life. If you are in the market for an auto sound system it only makes sense to listen to several before deciding on the one that will work best with your musical tastes and your desire for your vehicle sound system. Don't be misled by commission minded sales associated that think you need the latest, greatest, and most expensive toy on the market. Find a system that sounds good to you and go with that system. You do not have to go for a better sound if you find a sound you like that should be enough.

Introduced in September 1969, the Porsche 914 was a sporty,
mid-engined two-seater with a targa top and a 4 cylinder boxer
engine. The idea for this new model came up as Volkswagen
and Porsche collaborated to create a new car. VW would take
914 bodies and finish them as 914/4s, and Porsche would take
their portion of the body shells, and build 914/6s. When sold in
North America, however, all 914s would be considered Porsches.

Porsche 914 is not like other Porsches. It has pop-up headlamps,
a vertical rear windshield, and a flat deck lid covering the rear
trunk and engine. It has no backseats so when you sit down,
you are practically on the floor, which is on the road.

The interior of the 914 is quite simple, not luxurious but with all
necessities. There?s not too much space other than the
passenger seat. The transmission is like the 928's with 1st
down and to the left. The 914 has a targa top, and like
911's, it stores in the trunk. But if you take off the top and
roll down the windows, the Porsche 914 is a pretty nice
little roadster.
